We tried a sampler of many items on the menu since we did not know if we would be back this way again. The crawfish etoufee was not served very warm, but it was good. For me, the meat pie was the best thing that we ordered. The gumbo had good flavor. The jambalaya was very unusual in that it was basically black eyed peas and a lot of broth over white rice, with a bit of ground meat. The service was good, and nice atmosphere. Definitely would go back

Great Lunch! Our waitress Brooklyn suggested the Cajun Potato which was pure creamy goodness! A twice baked potato topped with crawfish étouffée and a fried shrimp! Thank you Brooklyn!

Good place to sample Louisiana style food. We shared the potato covered in étouffée and each had a cup of beans and rice and gumbo. Food was really good, as was our server.

Planned a special family party here. Will never happen again. Horrible service. Over priced for the type of «food» we could choose from AKA basic fried food. Again food was bland. My family was treated poorly and unfair. Nobody in our family will ever be back.

A quiet little gem off of Front Street. We had lunch on the patio, which was quaint and lovely. I had the jambalaya and it was different than what I expected. It was okay — but not the best. My partner and sister had the chicken salad on croissant and it looked great. They both raves about it. The prices were reasonable and the service was good.

From Houston visiting family so we stopped by for lunch. Very good lunch spot. Wife and I had Po Boys: grilled shrimp & fried catfish. Both were excellent. Prior to the meal we ordered spicy fried green beans… outstanding. My 8yr old daughter ate them up as well(not very spicy). Good food at a good price point especially compared to other more expensive restaurants in the area which I had horrible meals at during the same weekend v

The menu is basic, the food was okay. Not bad not great. I think my gumbo was heated up in a microwave as I had a ring around the bowl.

The crawfish étouffée was tasty. The gumbo was okay. The bread pudding average. We liked it overall but it’s not worth a repeat. We came here after hiking out at gorgeous Kisatchie National Forest, then went and watched 3D Spider-Man 2 movie. Beautiful 85 ish day with nice breezes.

A warm, friendly place for us on a cold, wet night. Food was passable, not great. Fruit plate was served with cream cheese finger sandwiches so sweet it could have passed for cake frosting. Crawfish étouffée was large with plentiful crawfish but sauce was bland and thick. Reuben had spicy horseradish brown mustard my wife enjoyed. Apple dumpling for dessert was WONDERFUL! Had mother-in-law with us, who is very picky and won’t eat anything spicy. We appreciated the variety here; places like the landing have fewer choices for older folks.

Stopped by for lunch on a cross country trip. The first impression is of a bright, clean, tastefully decorated local favorite with real white tablecloths. There was a respectable crowd at 12:30p, apparently locals, but there’s plenty of table capacity. Service(Matt) was attentive, friendly, very helpful with advice on the menu. The menu is a trophy to Cajun cuisine. We enjoyed a crayfish etouffe served over a baked potato(excellent!), and the bread pudding(incredible!). We will go out of our way to come back!

This was my second favorite place to eat at when I lived in Natchitoches. We could actually recommend it to people who visited, and the food was consistent everytime we went. Service was slow most of the time. It also seemed like a place where if you were not a regular, you were looked down on. Their hours could have been better. It seemed they were always closed when we wanted to go. There is not one dish I would recommend you have to try, but they did not destroy LA cusine like many places in the area did. Their food was decent.

Was very disappointed with everything here! The parking lot was angled parking and too small. Thank goodness we were here on a weekday and it wasn’t at all crowded, otherwise, it would have taken some maneuvering to get out. Our waitress was very business-like, could not even manage to break a smile at any given point. — didn’t even bother to refill our drinks or check on us after the plates were served. Okay, the food was well, blah! It’s supposed to be Cajun and Southern style cooking. I ordered the crawfish salad(I can’t figure out why it also came with a side salad without crawfish). My mom ordered the fried oyster plate — OK flavor but nothing unique or delicious about it. My brother ordered the jambalaya which was unique, consisting of black-eyed peas and the usual ingredients, BUT again, no flavor! And the«stuffed potato» he ordered was NOT at all stuffed! He had to ask for extra butter and sour cream because it was so dry! We may have tried the desserts(heard the bread pudding was worth ordering), had our waitress come back and asked if we wanted any.

I found Merci Beaucoup when looking for a Cajun restaurant, driving from New Orleans to Dallas. This was a great find. The mini meat pies were flaky and spicy, an appetizer I’d definitely recommend. We got the chicken and sausage gumbo, which was really fresh and far superior to the slimy stuff we get in Dallas. Served with crusty buttered bread, it is a simple gumbo with smoked chicken chunks that just fall apart, and a slightly spicy sausage. And you must get the bread pudding other reviewers recommend. It’s $ 4 well spent. We sat out on the patio on a sunny 80 degree day. Courtney, our server, had a big warm smile and was really friendly and helpful. This is a quaint place to enjoy a meal, just 5 minutes or so off the highway.

An average restaurant with average food. Dirty rice was a little mushy, the meat pie is apparently the same you can buy frozen at the local Walmart. Service was not that great.

Came here with a date more familiar with the area who told me that Nachitoches meat pies were a great local bite. I Unilocaled this place from the road with the intent of trying the pie. I ended up having gumbo to start, because I was eager to try it «for real» having made it a fair bit myself back home in California. Even though it was just an appetizer for us, it ended up being the best thing we had here. Flavorful, with good chunks of meat. The pies were only ok, mostly as I was told that they should have a bit more heat to them. We speculated that they tone down the heat in their meat pies at Merci Beaucoup because they see a lot of tourists that might not expect it. The dirty rice served with the meat pie was tasty, and was almost better than the pie itself. The main dish and the side ended up seeming a bit same-ish, but they were still tasty. We ended up getting a dessert– some bread pudding that was fantastic and induced a suitable amount of guilt. Worth it, on a vacation! One thing to note: this place has a really small parking lot. I’m not sure if it’s ever actually a problem, but it seems like it might be.

I took my theater students to a festival at Northwestern, and we planned to have lunch on our first day before the festival here. Our bus driver got lost on the way so we arrived to the restaurant with less than an hour to eat. There were 18 of us! The Merci Beaucoup staff stepped up and helped us out immediately. They sat us at a large table in the back and started taking our orders right away. We took the food to go so we wouldn’t be late to the festival. They went out of their way to get our food ready super quickly and this was at prime lunch time with a restaurant full of people! The food was delcious. Every person was satisfied and raved about their meal. Which is a difficult thing to achieve with a large group. I had the Demon Burger and it was phenominal. The mushrooms were the perfect touch! The staff was so friendly and accomodating and the food was incredible. I hope to visit on our next trip to Natchitoches when we have more time to sit and enjoy our meal!
