Started with the seafood nachos and a prickly pear margarita. Both were exceptional. Decided to try the shrimp and alligator cheesecake for my entrée and I was not disappointed! It was AMAZING!!! The staff was also friendly and took great care of us. I highly recommend Roux 61.

I’ve had the food previously and enjoyed it. Tonight my family and I(party of 12) went for dinner. I’ll start with the good, my salad, grilled shrimp and Rose cocktail were all good. And the server did well. The so-so: We ordered chargrilled grilled oysters and they were burnt. I love oysters and try them at every restaurant I go to and once you’ve had good chargrilled oysters, burnt ones won’t do. The bad: The service and dealing with the manager. Someone in my party was served cold pasta. After telling the manager the seafood pasta dish was cold, the manager returned two min later with the food microwaved(as evidenced by the rubbery seafood). Then we asked for a freshly made pasta dish. The manager got an attitude about the complaint. Words were exchanged. The manager returned with the food in a to go container. The manager then said that we needed to leave the restaurant since we couldn’t afford to pay for our food and never return in summation. Now, at a $ 25 price point for a dish, it’s not that expensive. But the point is if a customer has a complaint, don’t get defensive, provide good service and make it right. I eat out all the time at all different price points of restaurants, by far this is not the nicest or most expensive, but never have I ever heard a manager respond in such a manner. While the food was good, good luck with getting good service. I won’t be returning.

My family went to Roux 61 when it first opened and weren’t huge fans. It was good, but not great. It was a year before I went again. We waited for almost an hour and the food was good! It wasn’t great, but it was pretty darn good. Worth the price, but not the wait. Then we went again. And it went from, «I don’t really get why it’s so popular» to «C’mon, let’s go!» Maybe it was a short wait, maybe it was the booze, maybe it was good service, or maybe it was the great food. Regardless, the overall experience was great. We’ve been back a few times since and haven’t had anything but good experiences. Definitely my favorite restaurant in the area.

We always visit this place after the bbq competition in September. And we always sit at the bar. This place has some seriously great food and drinks. I got the Natchez mule made with a ginger simple syrup and got to try some of the margarita… WOW. Their drinks are on point! We always order a lot of appetizers and oysters and have never been disappointed. This time I got the crawfish étouffée and fried green tomatoes with a bacon creams sauce. It was incredible! You really can’t go wrong. But I will warn you, show up early and prepare to wait a while for a table unless you’re a fan of bar top sitting – which definitely has it’s perks! Go check this little gem out!

oh so good. sooooo gooood. Get the seafood gumbo– you assume that with Roux in their name you could trust anything w/a roux. not always true– this time– verdad. Good: FOOD! gumbo has a dark roux and really good flavor. If you don’t like spicy, you will not like this. I asked for hot sauce– because I like it– they have both tabasco and Louisiana. I got the soft shell crab poboy w/fries. My eyes were bigger than my stomach what with not breakfast– It was huge. Very good though. The fried crab not overly salty or greasy. The bread was crusty French bread not too hard. The fries were even better than regular fries. Less good: so I dunno if I missed this or the menu didn’t say– but the poboy came with just bread and fried softshell crab. I asked for lettuce, tomato and pickle and my sweet waitress brought me a lovely plate of what looked like a very ripe and local tomato and great lettuce and pickle. Desserts didn’t sound too special– the bread pudding had raisens — which in my opinion is just wrong. Service was prompt and top notch. Place clean and roomy. Great experience.

I don’t often find excuses to drive to Natchez but I may now. Roux 61 is a beautiful roadside restaurant on Hwy. 61 right outside of Natchez. Gorgeous all wood décor, it’s a huge place with a great bar on one side, ideal for watching a game or 2. Plus the staff is ridiculously good looking and super nice and attentive, so what more could you ask for? Um…THEFOOD. You could ask for the food. Because it’s amazing. I had a working lunch so I didn’t eat all of the things like I wanted to, but my choice was a wise one. My coworker and I split the seafood stuffed potato and each got a side salad with their homemade remoulade. WOW. It was a perfect amount of food to fill 2 people’s bellies. The salad had craisins, feta, tomatoes and onions and was a good mix with the thick, tangy remoulade. The potato was bigger than my freakin’ head. It was 2 full size potatoes with some kind of crazy creamy cheddar crack sauce and loads of shrimp, oysters and crawfish. THEN they give you these delicious garlic bread toasts to dip and get all. of. the. sauce. I seriously want to drive back right now and do it all over again. Next time, though, I will try the Bloody Mary and some of their charbroiled oysters and anything else that I can possibly fit in my belly. WHO’S WITHME?!
