I come to The Well pretty often. I used to come a few times a week because I worked close by, I go less now but only because it’s a bit of a drive from East Nashville. I really like this place. The décor isn’t my style, but I’ve had nearly every drink and every dish here and never been disappointed. Plus the staff is wonderful and they support a good cause. Anytime I need a caffeine boost and a healthy wrap, this is my go to. Definitely would recommend. There’s tons of seating in here too– way more than most coffee shops in Nashville. And it’s never overly crowded. Quality spot.

I don’t know where to begin. Perhaps the best Cuban I have ever had! My wife loved her«What’s in A Name?» Hint: It had a hint of rose. Simply outstanding! Great service too!

Got the house brewed, sorta sour but not in a bad way, just really flavorful. Parking’s a two hour limit though, so wasn’t really conducive to sitting for a while and working. Maybe there’s better parking elsewhere? Nice proximity to the public library though, if you wana get caffeinated then go work there for a while in the quiet.

Good coffee and a nice, relaxed space. Very friendly staff. Not the cheapest but they have specialty drinks and they donate their profits. Rather spend money supporting a local company that gives back than Starbucks or DD.

The well is an excellent coffee house experience. Found by a college campus, there are a lot of students around, but all of their coffee tastes amazing as well as the people that work there always appear happy to be there. In addition to that, their company does lots of great work to give back to individuals. You can purchase bags and mugs and material to help people in 3rd world nations also. Way much better than a Starbucks, and better priced. I believe it is among the better locally owned coffee shops.

I went here for a midday meeting with my business partner. It was my first time going there, and I am a pretty simple guy. To start off with the compliments– I had heard of The Well before and actually visited a Green Hills location. I love the Christian influence and the charitable connection to providing water to those less fortunate… that is AWESOME. However, as a dude who values convenience and well a high level of value… I feel that the overall value did not match my expectation. I am used to going to Starbucks and getting the Tall Americano… which… I asked for the equivalent… and it was alright, but not near as rich or full… and the coffee mug seemed to hold a only a tiny amount of fluid. One thing that I did enjoy was the iced water at the front, I drink a lot of water and always enjoy a drink. The atmosphere was nice, young professionals, yoga-women, and college students. I used to live in that area and always thought that area looked dangerous for a business to set up just because of how busy it is and how many people cross the street… it is a little confusing, and for a second I thought I might lose a door when I tried to get into my parallel parking place. Overall I give 4 stars. The coffee I got was mehh, but the atmosphere was awesome, and I highly support the mission of the shop. Perhaps my expectations are too high, but I think a Mom and Pop coffee shop should blow Starbucks out of the water on quality, but maybe The Well knows what they are doing and prefers to maximize their giving, which is something I support.,

Wow! I used to really like this place. The coffee is very good, but the service has been atrocious today. The girl working behind the counter is utterly rude and taking fifteen minutes to make a latte. No «thank you,» no smile. Maybe it’s time to hire some adults, rather than hipster college students. My prayer for your«prayer wall» is that you fire the girl working today.

As grad school gets harder, my caffeine addiction grows stronger. As a result, I’m always trying to find a quiet coffee shop that has good hours and easy parking. The Well definitely made it onto my top 10 list! It doesn’t hurt that its within walking distance from Lipscomb! My go to drink here is the iced vanilla latte with caramel drizzle aka your basic caramel macchiato! It has the perfect ratio of sweetness to coffee. I just wish that they had a bigger size than the 16oz, cause homegirl needs all the espresso shots and coffee I can get. I also love it is a non profit coffeehouse in that a part of the proceeds is going to building wells to provide clean water sources for those in need! How awesome is that?! There are plenty of tables and outlets for those looking for a quiet place to get some work and studying done! If you want a cool place to study and drink, I would definitely recommend checking out The Well!

I heard good things about this place and wanted to check it out. Seen as I had never been here before I walked in and no one greeted me at the counter for about 45 seconds, so I stood there looking foolish while the two baristas continued their conversation with their 3 friends/customers. I ordered a small chai latte($ 4) and sat down at table to do some work. My chai tea arrived and when I took my first sip I was met with disappointment. It literally tasted like warm milk. I paid $ 4 for that? Anyway, the vibe of the place seemed to be for aspiring yuppies/green hill fit moms with the occasional college student there. I’m sure during the semester the vibe is much different. Needless to say, I probably won’t be back at this specific location again.

Great place for a neighborhood coffee but you need to be willing to wait about 12 minutes for your latte, cappuccino etc. /this goes for black coffee as well.

While visiting my parents here in Nashville, my dad insisted that we go to The Well. I work at Starbucks back in California, so I know coffee pretty well, and this place has it down. My dad was looking for some new beans to take home, so we browsed the wall for a couple minutes deciding which beans to get. We decided on the Brazil. In regards to drinks, my dad got espresso, and I tried their iced chai. My dad loves their espresso, and says it gets sweeter as it sits. I was too scared to take a sip(I tried espresso at my Starbucks one time and it was awful!). My chai was great. Not too sweet and not too spicy. It was a little more mellow than some chai’s I’ve had(way different than Starbucks, if that’s what you’re used to), but I definitely enjoyed it. While the barista was making our drinks, my dad was asking what kind of beans he was using for the espresso that day. He explained which ones he was using and described the flavors, and the nuances in the different beans they use depending on the day. He was very knowledgeable, and definitely knew how to describe flavors well. If possible, I will be returning here while I am still in the area!

I love the mission of this coffee shop and I really like supporting it… When I have time. It’s always packed but on top of that, they’ve decided to turn into scientists when they make coffee and take years to make it. It happens every time I’ve been in there. Yes, I do appreciate how much they take coffee seriously but dang, sometimes I don’t want to wait 12 minutes for a normal tasting cup of coffee. But this is definitely a friendly coffee shop and it is not one you should go to if you’re thinking about working on something. Usually very loud and filled with college kids.

First time in today and it was amazing! Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was really good. I asked for a caramel mocha and the girl made it happen. And their coffee cake was on point! Best coffee cake I’ve literally ever had. I will be a regular.

Great service here with a wealth of drink options to please anyone. The space is open and decorated with natural/stained wood that gives it a rustic old-home feel. The Well donates a portion of sales to worthy organizations around the globe, which makes me not feel so bad paying 5 bucks for coffee. It is in a cool neighborhood – right by Lipscomb, Copper Kettle and Rhino Books. The coffee is really good and they feature different roasts.

I love businesses that give back! The Well is a non-profit that donates to great causes, helping provide clean drinking water to those in need. The look and the feel of The Well is what I’d call down home modern. The mixture of a wood-slatted entrance and polished wood plank tables with high exposed ceilings and hanging mason jar lights make it hard to call it anything else. Unfortunately as other reviewers have mentioned, there are a good deal of chatty college kids, but I’m not here for work so it doesn’t bother me much. The food is decent, nothing special. I also had a Vanilla Chai tea(my favorite) which was delicious, but I’d have to guess it was at least 1⁄3 foam, so I suggest going for the larger size. Make it count. I’m not too jazzed about the price; a couple pieces of bread and cheese and a 16oz. tea were just shy of $ 9, but hey, I’m gainfully employed and it’s for a good cause. All in all I dig The Well(get it? get it??) as an occasional Chai stop, but I don’t recommend it for serious lunch/dinner or for working.

My favorite thing to drink here is the hot chocolate. I’m not a coffee person so my next favorite thing to drink are the smoothies. All of them are perfect. This coffee shop is SO much better than Starbucks! The quesadillas are delicious. The workers are so nice! It’s nice to have a place that supports a good cause.

4.5 Green Hills is just so so pretty. I wish Davidson County had more than just two good public schools because, Hillsboro and all, I really love the neighborhood. Quite the preamble, huh? Well(hyuck) you can’t help but to marvel at the surroundings when making your way to The Well. Parking is tight(relative to demand) so odds are you’re going to have to drive up and down the winding road to find parking… but you shouldn’t mind it too much. This section of Granny White is quite picturesque no matter the time of year. The proximity to Lipscomb means there will be plenty of college kids engaging in college kid ways(ymmv) but it also means that a manicured campus is nearby and the electricity of youth and promise hangs in the air.* Once you enter, you’re taken in by the vibe and specific point of view. I don’t particularly like coffee shops that could be picked up and plunked anywhere. I like walking in to a place that feels specific. With the dramatic wood backdrop and artisan wood tables, The Well has specificity covered. But more than looking good, The Well DOES good — and that’s why I can overlook college kids being college kids and making me cranky. While enjoying coffee, know that your money is going toward the building of wells for those needing clean drinking water. Yes. You’re not just sitting around sucked into the ennui of achingly hip trustafarians. You’re actually helping to make the world a better place. That’s pretty amazing. And, for those who bemoan the religious aspect of The Well… 2 things: 1.) It helps people. HELPS. Do you help people? If not, you should. And, really, who complains about helping people? And if you do, please, stay far away. 2.) One of the muses of Nashville is Gospel(music). Religious tradition is woven into the very fabric of Nashville. It’s part of the gig. And even better? The coffee is really really good. This isn’t a case of charity. You’re going to like what you buy. In addition to offering beans from all over for those who grind and make their own coffee, The Well has delicious baked goods and a seasonal menu that will make you happy. Since autumn is my favorite season, let me write about the autumnal(what an awesome word) offerings: chocolate pumpkin muffins and the Cozy Sweater drink. The muffin is every bit as delicious as you’re imaging. Get it warm. The drink is a comfy blend of coffee, cinnamon, spice and whipped cream. Perfect name for the drink, no? Stop in. You can do a lot by doing just a little. *Or, it could just be the sweet smell of honeysuckle. I really like this part of town.

I love the Well coffee. Black or an almond milk latte. However you take your coffee, there are options available for everyone. I have yet to visit their new location, but when they were located off of Richard Jones Blvd. across from Massage Envy and Alegria Mexican Restaurant, I just loved their atmosphere. It’s a relaxing place to catch up with a friend, a great place to get out of the office and work, or perfect for a quick service coffee. One last thing! They have a wishing wall where you can write down your wishes and people can take a wish and grant it. They also work with suspended coffees. If you have yet to hear of the Suspended Coffee program, look it up — it’s a way to #PayItForward.

Quick stop here to get a cup of tea yesterday. Warm, welcoming place with very friendly staff. Sometimes coffee houses feel pretentious but not this great place. Awesome tea too… I recommend the Apricot Green. This location isn’t the most convenient for me, but I’ll definitely be back when I can and will check out the other location.

Wow… what a difference a location makes. Can I give the servers 5 stars, the drinks 4 stars and the clients 2 stars? Is that a thing? What use to be a fun large space to get your coffee on in Green Hills has relocated and become the Lipscomb coffee house of choice. No hating on Lipscomb, but you know, everyone here is 20, LOUDASALLGETOUT and, um, totally unversed in coffee house etiquette. Yeah, I’m looking at you two little ladies next to me who brought your whole freaking lunch in here and bought a single iced coffee to share. There are only a few(5) tables you can sit by yourself, a large picnic style table in each of two rooms, and, tragically, only a single restroom. So if you are 20 and looking to hang out on Lipscomb’s campus, this is your place. If you were hoping to work, go elsewhere. Darn kids messing up my lawn. Grumbles off to senior citizens dance class.

This coffee shop has consistently good coffee. I usually just order my coffee black with no cream or sugar. Their drip coffee is leaps and bounds better than Starbucks and it is reasonably priced(I paid $ 2.50 for my 16 oz.) The staff is friendly, has a good atmosphere and they have some cool merchandise for sale(they even sell growlers! For beer!) All that being said, I also feel good about spending money there. They are a charity organization that helps those in need around the world. Good coffee, good people.

Cozy coffeehouse in the heart of Nashville. I love the prayer wall and socially conscious swag they sell in their store… I’ve never tried the pastries that they offer, but they always look tantalizing. It’s a fabulous place to host a meeting – I love going here.
