Total stunner. We travel all over the world for food and so I was shocked that I didn’t know how good Treehouse was before tonight(right in our neighborhood). There were mixed reviews of the restaurant when they first opened, so we never tried it. Little did we know that Jason Zygmont took over as head chef in January. He and his staff are literally putting out some of the best food in Nashville. The beef tartare is spectacular. Laid over slices of house made sourdough, this dish was incredible. We also tried the grilled cabbage, squid and boneless rib dish. They were beautifully prepared works of art that tasted as good as they looked. The care and creativity of each dish was remarkable. We finished with the blueberry desert which had 5 – 6 complimentary components. The staff was delightful and the prices were very reasonable. We can’t wait to go back. Bravo! This restaurant is the surprise of the year. Update: Back for dinner tonight(3 days later). Tried four new dishes just to take a deeper dive into the menu. The menu changes daily so I won’t detail every delicious component of each dish. The starters(Beef Tartare and Cherokee Purple tomatoes) were just as good as the other night and the entrees(Lamb Bacon & Snapper) were even better. You may not ever find a better fish dish than the snapper(outside Le Bernardin). Laid in a pool of lobster emulsion and covered with thinly shaved squash and salmon roe. I was weak in the knees. Did I mention it was a $ 20 entrée! What a treasure, what a deal. Everything was perfectly seasoned, even for my wife who always requests salt for added seasoning. Not tonight. Turns out my initial take was exactly right. Awesome. Just to prove my objectivity, it was a little warm in there tonight, but it was the hottest day of the year and we sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen.

The Treehouse is very visually appealing, I would describe it as quaint country meets fine dining. The quality of the food is outstanding and our waiter Ben was very friendly and knowledgeable. However for the size of the portion it is expensive. We ordered the octopus and the ribs, and although it’s closer to the entries I would say it’s more of a «filling» appetizer; and I say that as a 130 lb girl. That being said because of the quality it was worth every penny!

Cute hostess, excellent food, kind of cramped seating choice but overall good experience, the outside is actually very cool and unique, adds to the culture of east Nashville

So disappointing. We’d avoided Treehouse despite the fun sound of it specifically because the reviews were not great. New chef in, reviews became quite positive — we were intrigued. Post-meal, I’m left with the impression that places with strong Vegan and Gluten Free options are highly overrated on Unilocal for the rest of us. I’m the rest of us. We came here on a Saturday for dinner following some great drinks and a little meat and cheese board at Bar Luca. The place is fun — a little winding inside, colorful wooden plans, lots of treehouse-y secret passage feeling, an extra bar in the back and a heated covered porch where we sat. Waiter was cool — we got our waters, I put in my beer order and ordered the Lobster Tagliatelle pasta, the date got the lamb belly. We were asked if we wanted any starters… I saw only a bread loaf for $ 5 on the starter list but he suggested a tartare or salad. The truth is that I’d assumed only the $ 5 bread was a starter based on pricing and we’d just spent a lovely hour smearing goat cheese and balsamic figs and spicy tyhme onion relish on a nice little hot baguette. I’m a carb girl, but bread n butter can’t compare to bread and accoutrements. We passed on the starters — the prices were so not there for what I’d consider a starter. You can have high options, but the start price should be $ 7, not $ 14. It’s okay — Beer was my appetizer and give this girl a Green Flash she’s pretty happy. A totally reasonable wait time and out came our meals. Cute little presentation of lobster emulsion over my noodles and we dug in… My tastebuds exploded. Salt. Dear salty salt of the earth I’d took a chug of the ocean. I was confused. I mixed the pasta around — clearly this a mix issue. I tried another noodle. One flavor: salt. I pushed the bowl back. I ran a half marathon this morning. I’d not snacked hard all day, we’d limited ourselves to a pair of meats and 1 cheese at Bar Luca so we could enjoy our dinner. I was freaking hungry and this small bowl of noodles sat in front of me taunting me to suck it up and eat it. No way. I’ve eaten out a lot and had many varying degrees of good and bad meals. I specifically alter my expectations based on pricing and dress code to what level of fancy /homecooking /etc. I’m expecting and I’ve sent back exactly 3 meals ever. This would be number three. I stopped eating. I asked the husband to confirm — by this point he was roughly done with the lamb belly. The teeny little disc of meat and chunk of grilled veg was not going to be even half enough for this Ironman-training carnivore I knew already I kind of dreaded our bill. He «tested» another mouthful… because frankly he just needed more carbs. Salt. No question. It took us a few tries to flag down the waiter then, I asked to replace the dish with procini mushroom soup and explained that there seemed to be an over-reduction of the emulsion and it was far too salty. I cook up a storm just for the husband and me and I wouldn’t have fed that to just us. My mushroom soup came out in no time flat and it was really delicious. The husband’s chocolate soufflé and peanut anglaise sauce came out simultaneously so while I’d sat there being the awkward bad customer in the 3 minutes of his main meal, we shared dinner/desserts together. Mid mouthful of chocolate he agreed that my soup was the best meal all night. When the carnivore destroys a bit of lamb belly and is face-full of chocolate soufflé there is no rational reason a spoonful of cream of mushroom soup should be his favorite dish unless all the other dishes were super mediocre. So: 1 great dish out of 4. Me feeling even more awkward when we get the bill and I’m labeled like a bad kid«No Like»(No like? I’m slightly miffed — more like«No way we should have served this»). Then I wake up in the middle of the night starving because the portions are way too small for the price and I see no reason I should need a $ 14 starter and a $ 17 meal to get me to reasonably full. On the way out I overhear someone bragging up their Celiac disease and decide it then: I had a small bad meal and a bad experience that I paid way too much for based on gluten free and vegan reviewers. Please stop giving good stars to places that are super mediocre and overpriced. This is not the food scene I support. I feel lead on by reviews that were based on totally altered expectations of what makes a good meal and portion sizes that use the Gluten-Free-as-a-diet excuse.

Went for a Unilocal dinner, it was very good. Food was great, drinks were good but not great. Small place which felt claustrophobic at times, well thought out though. I felt like this would be a good place for dinner, especially for people that are slight, but I’m fairly tall and big and everything felt a bit close. I know that isn’t a concern for a lot of people but I yam who I yam and this is my review so here we are with four stars instead of five. Great restaurant thought.

We stumbled onto this place hoping for a snack and thrilled that their kitchen was open at 10:00(Saturday night). I ended up having easily one of the top five best meals of my life and my friend agreed! We were eating from the late-night menu and had the fried egg over grits, the sunchoke salad and then couldn’t resist getting a dessert — the buttermilk mousse. The way they combine flavors is so interesting and works so very very well — we found ourselves continually looking at the menu to see what were these marvelous ingredients that we were eating. Not to mention the awesome atmosphere and cocktails. If I come back to Nashville, returning here will be on my agenda for sure.

Showed up on a Saturday night about 8. Got drinks at the back bar(my old fashioned was awesome) and were seated in about 15 minutes. Our server was super friendly. She gave us a few minutes to check out the menu, then came back to answer questions/take our order. We got the pierogi’s, flounder crudo, ribs and tagliatelle. Everything was amazing. Not big portions, but big enough, and everything was fresh and delicious. Atmosphere was cozy, drinks, food and wait staff were all great. We’ll be back for sure.

I really like this place. I am a meat and potatoes type of gal so the«finer things in life» are often lost on me. Treehouse being fairly fancy in my mind made me nervous to try it, however I wasn’t disappointed. Although their food reads«fancy» it actually tastes pretty down to earth. What I mean is that they served chicken wings in a bowl with a frothy egg white creation at the bottom. It was weird but delicious. Since their menu changes daily, I can’t really vouch for it’s goodness year round, but they are doing things right over there and you won’t be disappointed if you give it a try.

Overall a great dinner experience that consisted of pretty good service, a knowledgable waiter, cool ambience, and phenomenal food. Nestled away in the 5-points area of Nashville this small little gem is great for a chill night out(full bar) or for a nice dinner or both! Parking is a challenge, so prepare yourself. The food is top notch! Well worth the visit if you venture to this side of Nashville.

We only went for drinks on a chilly spring night but they were equipped for the weather. The bartender was great and the cocktails were well made. We hung out in their treehouse out back and a group was using there true treehouse unit. It looked like they were having a lot of fun. If I’m ever in East Nashville again, I’d definitely stop by.

I feel conflicted on my review because I want to give the treehouse both less and more stars. I will say point blank that the food is downright amazing, which should warrant more stars, but the price per portion and the confusing nature of the menu should cause less, so sticking with a 4⁄5 is probably right where it should be. The dinner of the evening was the short ribs for myself, and my wife had the uni(the name is much too long and difficult to remember, but I specifically remember lobster butter). Both plates were fantastic, with the ribs being especially notable. We wrapped up with a chocolate soufflé which was to die for. Again the food is top notch but there are a few improvements that can be made elsewhere.

Awesome drinks. Excellent atmosphere. You should definitely go check it out for their patio alone.

I haven’t eaten here but as a fun place to grab a drink and impress an out of town visitor, The Treehouse has just what you need. I’d been meaning to check it out for months but the parking situation on Clearview depressed and overwhelmed me so I always talked myself out of it. And then someone would mention the patio/treehouse and I’d get riled up about going over again. So, it came to pass on a surprisingly warm fall evening(thanks, climate change!) that I had a friend in town and a need to impress with a good place for cocktails in a fun setting. It was finally Treehouse time. I knew it was meant to be as we found parking on Clearview. It was my time. We walked past the friendly hostess and headed straight to the crown jewel in the back. It didn’t disappoint. Although I am from Kentucky, I didn’t start drinking as a child. Had i done so, though, I imagine that my backyard bar would have looked similar to this. The setting dictates the energy and puts you in a good mood. This is a brilliant business move for a bar. Seeing that I was in a playful frame of mind, I had my first kalimotxo. I don’t know who thought to mix red wine and coke but sir/madam, I salute you. I doesn’t sound like it makes sense but it does. It really truly does. It might have made too good of sense, as I found myself drinking them in lieu of water. Oh well. red wine’s good for you, right? The weather is teasing a return of spring time temps. It’s safe to come out of hibernation and return to outdoor drinking at The Treehouse. An added bonus: the restaurant has a new chef. I think, upon my next visit, I’ll add a food element to my daily dose of drinking. But, yeah: that backyard is everything you’ve heard of. It sounds odd that a place could successfully blend memories of childhood and drinking but it does, it can and it works. Spring’s here. Do your drinking in a treehouse.

It gets a 4 on creativity, a 3 on comfort, and a 4 on the food. It’s an interesting place with a simple menu. There were three meat options, duck, pork tenderloin, and trout. Others were mainly vegetable dishes and Thai fried rice. The trout was presented well. The little dumplings underneath it were really tasty. Good job! Friendly service, and good food!

Popped over to Treehouse after our night out at the Opry! It was late on a Friday night around 9:45, but they said they were still serving food! Score! The staff sat us quickly out on the back patio and found it amusing that we knew what the machine was hanging on the wall by our table. Guess people don’t see anesthesia machines everyday like I do! Our waitress was relaxed and made us feel welcome to hold onto the menu to order food and drinks as we felt so inclined. We started out with the Dark & Stormy, Giving Tea, Kale Salad and Mussels. Everything was fantastic — full of flavor and very fresh indeed. After our first round of food and drinks, we went ahead and opted for round two. We had the Spaghetti Squash Quesadillas, King’s Blvd and Corpse Reviver. The quesadillas were so amazing — I really need to recreate them at home. And our drinks were delicious as well. We really enjoyed everything about this place! I’d come back again for sure!

This place was cute and comforting. If you want a midwest backyard, what you see in the movies type atmosphere, this place is it. If I came here on a date it would be pretty romantic… yeah. that’s it. The lights, the benches, the old world charm. The food is definitely special here. Things seemed very fresh, organic and as the waiter said things aren’t wasted so they do their best to use everything they can to eliminate waste. Ah, you can’t really beat that ho hum idea of saving the planet. Anyhow this place is cute and adorable and i would love to return… Yes this is as good as it gets for Nashville.

Elevated bar food. Yes, the prices are high for the small portions but 1. it is all creative, unique, and fresh and 2. look around… in East Nashville, I find their prices to be much more reasonable for the same quality/atmosphere that you’ll find elsewhere. The atmosphere is enough to visit just for the bar. It has some really awesome light fixtures that give it that warm, but not overly dark ambiance. As mentioned, the food resembles fill-that-craving bar food but definitely higher end fare. Ask what the waiter recommends. The cocktails are, once again, creative and well-mixed. If you’re complaining about $ 10 for a great, upscale cocktail, they probably don’t want you there anyways. Good wine list. Good beer list.

What took me so long? I’m so excited that I finally gave this place a chance. Living just a few blocks from five points, I had heard several people talk about Treehouse. I guess I initially got the vibe that this place was overpriced and not worth it, but that was wrong! Just goes to show that sometimes you have to form your own opinions instead of listening to hearsay. I am very excited to have another go to restaurant in the area that is a little more upscale from the standard pizza and bar food. Don’t get me wrong, I love some pizza and bar food, but this is a unique option that really is different than anything else we have in Five Points. Cocktails were delicious! I had a dark and stormy, and my husband had a King’s Blvd. While there seem to be several negative reviews on here about the price of cocktails, I have come to realize that most new places in Nashville will have $ 10 cocktails on the menu these days. The difference here was that they were actually very well made cocktails and in turn, worth the price if you are just going to have one or two. The menu changes daily because it is all so fresh and the chef really does some creative dishes! We shared the home fries and three sisters salad to begin with. Both were excellent and more food than I was expecting for $ 7-$ 11 a piece. We ended up taking about half of our appetizers home(And the three sisters salad was awesome the next day for lunch!) Next, the two of us split the chicken fried rice, and it was hands down, my favorite dish of the night! I will go back just for this dish next time I see it on the menu!

If you take a trip to the eastside of nashville this is a must go. Farm to fork and an ever changing menu make it hard to describe the menu — but let me tell you, the 5 different dishes I tried the night I went were ALL delicious. Myself and 3 other girls got two appetizer portions and two dinner entrees — the empanadas, the queso in an acorn squash, the skirt steak and the roast chicken. And to tope it all off we got the chocolate cake dessert. All were perfect sizes and allowed us to be satisfied but not overly full — we were going out on broadway street an wanted to be comfortable. We unfortunately did not get to sit in the treehouse portion and the indoors is a little cramped but the drinks were made quick and we all enjoyed ourselves!
