One of my favs! The Belle(filet) is AMAZING! I really enjoy the butternut squash with goat cheese as well! Just be sure to get reservations well in advance!

I went there with a group of 6 and had a good time. Overall food was good but service is just OK. Tab was probably $ 600. Apps are overpriced for the amount you get but drinks are pretty good. For the prices they charge they should be more attentive on bussing the tables and higher quality service. Bathrooms are cool and clean. I ordered the burger and they butchered it. They said they could do a lettuce wrap instead of a bun. basically was a mess and is commonly executed where I live. I

My friend took me here for my birthday and we had a horrible first impression. The hostess walked us past the restaurant, past the kitchen and into what looked like a private dining room. She place my friend and I in the furthest corner. It felt like we were on a time out or on a date. It was weird. Thankfully, we moved to the bar. She and I had a ton of fun! I’m so happy to have a place in Nashville that has Wellfleet oysters! The oyster bar guys were hilarious and entertaining all night. Brad was super chatty and we will definitely be back to see him! The bar staff changed our view of this place which is why they get 5 stars. Don’t forget to tip the Oyster Nation!

This was my first trip to Nashville. It snowed 6 inches & many places… OK, every place closed. I received a call informing me they would be closed Friday morning. The person I spoke with rescheduled us for Saturday. We arrived early and hit up the bar… Oyster Happy Hour?! Whaaaat! Had half a dozen of the most amazing oysters & a wonderful sazerac. The bartender was very friendly, offered us a menu to peruse & told us about the specials. The space is gorgeous… beautiful bar, open, good view of the kitchen. Our waiter was awesome. The manager was on the floor, stopping by all the tables. The food was excellent! I was super excited about the NOLA style BBQ Shrimp… And it did not disappoint! The steaks were perfect! No room for dessert… Will definitely be stopping here next time I am in Nashville!

I stop here every time I’m in Nashville and I always leave in a food coma. I am never disappointed with the food or the service. I’ve had lovely brunches and dinners here and will always make it a priority to stop in when I’m in town.

Cam here for dinner with a group of friends. Glad that we had reservations because it was quite crowded when we arrived, but we headed straight to our table since we had reservations. The restaurant seems quite large and spacious. We had a nice large table in the back room. Given that they ARE in Tennessee, I’d expect more whiskey drinks on their cocktail list, but only saw one, and I ordered that one whiskey cocktail. For my entrée, I ordered the ribs. For the price, it’s a great deal. They give you a FULL rack of ribs. It also comes with sweet potato fries on the side, and a few sprinkled on top of the ribs for good measure. The ribs are cut in half. The top half was delicious! The ribs were so tender, and basically FELL off the bone. I really didn’t even need the steak knife to cut it. I basically could pull apart the ribs with my fork. However, the second half on the bottom was a different story. It was much tougher. It seemed like they had overcooked the meat, resulting in tough and chewy meat. It also didn’t have the same flavor as the first half. I would have given it more stars if both halves were good, but I was pretty disappointed with the second half.

I honestly was not impressed with my experience here. Our waiter was very nice but took a while to come to our table to introduce himself and then take our order and later check on us and deliver our bill. I was pretty surprised at the mediocre service, especially when there were only 4 or 5 tables and multiple servers. I was there for brunch and ordered the«Your Way» with bacon as my choice of meat and potatoes instead of grits. However, I received grits which is not what I asked for. I didn’t let the waiter know but I’m sure he would have apologized and fixed the order since he was so nice. I really struggled to eat my meal. The fried eggs weren’t good, and neither was the bacon or grits. I barely finished anything, but I did finish the biscuits which were pretty good! Although I didn’t really enjoy my meal, I did enjoy the bite of my friend’s chicken and waffles. If I return for brunch, I’ll be ordering that instead! I was going to give 1 star for the food and service but the restaurant was super clean, the décor was cool, and the food was less expensive than I expected so I gave an extra star. I could possibly be open to returning for lunch or dinner but I don’t think I would return for brunch. If I did, I would definitely not order the«Your Way» again.

Hit this place up by myself the other night and sat at the bar — they had the NY Knicks game on so this East coast paisan was pumped! Ordered a couple of martinis — they were HUGE and perfectly made. Ordered a half-dozen oysters because the guy happened to be shucking them right in front of me — they were SOFRESH! The whole ‘go over and pick out your own piece of meat’ thing was a little intimidating and I couldn’t really understand the bartender who was explaining it to me, so I just went with the filet on the menu — it was cooked perfectly — and got a nice glass of Justin Cab to go with the steak. If you’re lookin’ to treat yo’ self in Nashville(a couple martinis, oysters, a nice filet w/mashed potatoes and a glass of red for under $ 100), this is the place to do it!

Went for happy hour as I am a huge oyster fan and saw their deal for oysters from 3 – 6 pm: $ 20/dozen. They had a menu of about 12 oysters, but only 4 of them were options for happy hour. My boyfriend and I ordered 3 of each and split them. They were shucked right in front of us and accompanied with lemons, cocktail sauce, and horseradish. Super delicious. My boyfriend ordered the filet mignon mini sandwiches on biscuits from their afternoon limited menu. I’m a pescatarian, so I didn’t try the filet, but I did take a bite of the biscuit and almost died it was so delicious! They also have drink specials. $ 5 house wines, and I believe wells were $ 5. I read a tip to try their blood orange mimosa. Even though it was in the afternoon, I ordered one up and am so glad I did! The bartender was also fantastic to chit chat with. I asked him a number of questions about places I wanted to go to while in Nashville, and he was super helpful.

I’ve walked into Southern a couple of times where the wait has been(literally) hours so finally got an opportunity to have dinner on a Monday night. At the end of the day, overpriced and lackluster food will lead me to not return here. I had the custom pick your steak which I thought was a great feature. The selections looked great, and I was excited to experience it since they advertised it as a chef special. When my food arrived, I was disappointed to see my steak overcooked. I requested«medium rare plus» because some establishments have a tendency to overcook mediums and that applies here as well. The center of my steak was so dark that it was approaching medium well. While I could’ve asked, I didn’t want to test the consequences of sending back a $ 100 chef special. Friend had the rack of ribs and was unimpressed by the dry meat that a bucket of BBQ sauce couldn’t save. Service: The lack of service almost felt fast food or buffet like. They only stopped at our table when we raised our hand and flagged someone down. If we we asked for more than 2 items, we were lucky if she came back with everything on the next trip.

Soo good! The biscuits served with the meal are fluffy, southern Cesar salad has an interesting taste because of the ham, but very delicious and the chicken fried chicken over Mac is amazing! Highly recommend this spot for dinner and drinks. Great location downtown near the Johnny Cash museum and many bars.

We absolutely loved this place. First of all, food. We ordered the Dominican Pork for appetizer and the microgreen they put on top was perfect! Ours tasted a little bit like cilantro, but they told us that switched that up. Pork was on the chewy side but the cilantro and mango cut through bbq and gave the dish a very fresh taste. We got the burger and the lamb for entrees. The lamb was prepared perfectly with lots of pinkness. The acidity from the lemon worked very well kale. And the burger. I am not an expert on burger but that thing was SODAMNGOOD!!! I like medium rare and it was so tender it literally melted in my mouth. It just might have been my favorite burger ever! We had a hard time deciding between the salmon and the lamb so our server asked if we wanted him to decide for us. He did not disappoint. Very genuine service. Call for reservation! Otherwise expect a wait. Love love love this place.

This restaurant was one of the highlights of my trip to Nashville. I loved the selection of fresh oysters, and I couldn’t help but order two orders of the shuckers choice dozen during happy hour(12 oysters for $ 20). One of the bartenders was able to get me a curated whiskey & rye flight that was specific to my preferences, which was nice since that is what I was expecting heading to Tennessee… Oddly, this was the only place that seemed legit enough to do so. Had to come back for brunch since the entrees around me smelled and looked so good. I’m glad I did because the gumbo and shrimp and grits were really yummy. =) There is free valet parking at the garage next door too.

FABULOUS We had a lovely Sunday Brunch here. A trio was playing country music as we entered and continued throughout our meal. We started with a dozen oysters to share and they were excellent. For lunch, I had the Shrimp & Grits which was also excellent. I sampled the Gumbo and the Chicken salad and they were quite good, the Gumbo having some zip to it but the salad was nothing overly special. We went back for lunch two days later and I had a cup of the Breaux Bros. Gumbo and the Andouille & Oysters with housemade andouille sausage topped with fried oysters and pickled red cabbage. Both items were exquisite! This is quite a fun place. Location — 5STARS Food — 4 ½ STARS Service — 5STARS Value — 4STARS Ambiance/Décor — 5STARS

The name says it all — The Southern has southern food down to a science! I think I ate a whole plate of their deviled eggs by myself. The crab cakes and shrimp appetizers were also very good. For dinner I got the scallops. Mine in particular were BIG — compared to my friend’s. They were so good. I didn’t eat the rice it came with but I’m not sure if it’s because I didn’t like that type of rice or because I was so full from my million appetizers. I will make a point to return next time I am in Nashville!

Had a great meal at the Southern Steak and Oyster… I came at about 11:30 or so and while I didn’t want breakfast, I didn’t want a large lunch, either. I ended up getting the Saffire Steak Biscuits. It consisted of two smaller blue cheese infused biscuits with a small piece of tenderloin on each of them with a horseradish aioli on top. The two biscuits came with a small field green salad with a light dressing and the whole meal was delicious!!! The meat was tender and flavorful. The biscuits were perfect. The salad and dressing was a very nice addition. The service was fantastic. The waitress was as sweet as punch. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. Casual yet classy. Fancy but not snobby! I will be back to Nashville next year and I will visit, again!!!

I love the drinks here — they have fresh ingredients and a great selection. I could come here for the drinks and cheddar biscuits alone, then stay here for hours! The cheddar biscuits they bring to the table when you sit down are SO good. Everyone at my table ordered the Belle — an 8oz steak on top of chive mashed potatoes with asparagus and mushrooms. I also ordered a side of white cheddar mac and cheese. The steak itself was flavorful and delicious, and it had a nice crust on it. The mashed potatoes were good, but I didn’t sense the chives. Veggies seemed steamed and flavorless, unfortunately. THEMACANDCHEESETHOUGH — yes. Get that. Too stuffed for dessert unfortunately! I might have to come back for drinks, biscuits and dessert.

Overall good. My steak was the most disappointing part. No flavor but cooked right. My oysters were amazing. The dessert was great. I definitely disappointed standing in line being told the wait would be 30 minutes and it ended up being over an hour. I have to be a bit harder on a place that charges more, it comes with the territory. So with that said… if you are truly looking for a great steak go somewhere else. if your looking for atmosphere and that’s mostly it this maybe the place.

I just spent a week in Nashville for a conference and ate so much food at different restaurants at all parts of downtown Nashville. But my company made reservations to this place for an evening dinner. As soon as we walked in, there were appetizers already on the table. Good appetizers(I don’t know the names of them) but they were small tacos, steak sandwiches, crab cake(was good), and something else. We ordered cocktails so I ordered a Rum drink called Tom’s Dirty Sock. Good stuff. Overall the food was awesome. I would definitely come back here again, and I would come back here every time I visit Nashville. Rating: Food: 4 Price: 3(but it was worth it) Ambience: 4(very nicely decorated and good lighting.) Service: 4 Overall: 4

I just spent a weekend in Nashville for a bachelorette party(everyone together now: «whooooo!») and ate so much food I don’t know how I’m still existing as a human being. When I woke up on a Sunday morning and realized we had a brunch ahead of us, I wasn’t too optimistic. I had enjoyed so much great food the couple of days before that I didn’t think it could be topped. Boy was I wrong. This place is lively and so charming, and I loved the three-piece band playing spirited tunes as we walked into the place. You definitely want to make reservations because it gets so, so busy here. Our group was seated in the back room, and that’s the only con I can think of for The Southern — the vibe is totally different in the back room and you definitely lose the charm and energy the first room has. It almost feels like a totally different restaurant. We still ended up having a blast, but had a bit of envy of those enjoying the live music and happy crowd. The bloody mary here is solid, but order it spicy if you enjoy yours jazzed up the way I do. Our server was darling and kept drinks flowing during the two hours we were there. The coffee was on point as well. I can’t praise the brunch menu and quality of the food enough. When I saw the steak & biscuit benedict, I knew that was the one and only choice for me. The dish was perfect… not too big of a serving, incredible flavor, tangy hollandaise, and a side of potatoes. The Highway(chicken and waffles) was also very much enjoyed at our table, as was the My Way and the shrimp and grits. The Southern is what brunch dreams are made of. The owner stopped by to greet us before we left and encouraged us to check out his other biz, which a few of us ended up doing. If you’re looking for classic southern charm and wonderful food, this is a must-visit in Nashville. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to hop back on the treadmill. #noregrets
