I’ve been eating at The Old Spaghetti Factory in downtown Nashville since I was a kid and it’s fantastic. I’ve celebrated birthdays there, and I’ve known friends from high school who have worked there. I like it so much that when my family traveled to Northern California, we went out of our way to eat at one of the Sacramento locations with a friend who’d never tried it before.
The Garlic Mizithra is quite possibly the best pasta dish anywhere. The soft bread and butter is great too. Definitely try this place out if you have the chance!

Way under delivered on our expectations. The ambiance & décor make you believe the food and service will match but it does not. Bagged salad, frozen ravioli and frozen shrimp drenched in butter, microwaved and covered with bread. We left $$ on the table for dinner and a tip and left after the meals were delivered. Won’t return or recommend.

The place looks really nice but the service sucks a bit, and the fact that they cannot remove cheese from any of their dishes makes me think they don’t actually make any of their meals on order. The sangria tastes like cool-​aid.

Service was awful and the food was worse. They brought our salad the same time as the entre I had to help the waiter balance the tray so he wouldn’t drop everything on me. I swear i thought i was being punked. I kept looking around for hidden cameras. I ordered a garlic shrimp pasta dish and i got some noodles with butter, no garlic sauce or flavor and about 5 shrimp thrown in top. My son ordered crab ravioli and i swear they tasted like leftovers. They completely forgot my wifes order and got it all confused with the party at another table. They only thing halfway decent was the appetizer and the minestrone. My two daughters said theirs was ok. Not worth $ 100.00 by a long shot. I’ve had better food off a buffet. Never going back. I can’t believe i have to give a single star to post this.

I went there with a group today and our waiter was awesome (I think his name was Chris Brown). He was super personable and attentive. The food was fantastic as ever, but Chris’s service put the experience over the top. We loved the dishes he recommended (pesto=yum!) and I would love to have him as our waiter the next time we’re back.

We love Spaghetti Factory and have been to several of them in other states. We are from California and came here on a vacation and had to check out Spaghetti Factory in Nashville. We went Friday ¾/​16 for lunch and had amazing service by a very nice gentleman, I wish I could remember his name! We met friends that we haven’t seen in years and he was so patient with us catching up and forgetting to even look at our menus. The is also had to be the most beautiful Spaghetti Factory we’ve been to.

The worst service. I was there with a group of three on a Sunday night. Unfortunately the one star is strictly for the service. The restaurant seemed more short staffed than busy. It took us 15 minutes to even get seated. We sat for 10 minutes and were not acknowledged by one person. We decided to leave and go elsewhere.
The restaurant itself seemed nice and it was a huge place with plenty of seating.

BAD experience from beginning to end. Each time the server left the table, she was gone for 20 minutes. It took her that long to ever approach us and introduce herself. So, a quick lunch turned into 2 hours. The salad was bland, the bread cold and the GF pasta was mush. The marinara sauce tasted like tomato paste and salt, nothing else.
Sad to say that I will not be back.

Our waiter, Sam, was GREAT. Super nice and knowledgable about menu items. We were dropped off by our Über driver in downtown and stumbled upon this pasta place. Super cool atmosphere on the inside with really cool antique furniture and a train car on the inside you can eat in. Would recommend to anyone, great experience!

The decoration of the restaurant was really nice upon entering, but the food was super bland and totally didn’t match my expectations… I didn’t like anything that I had here, including bread, salad, and garlic shrimp capellini. I had a great time hanging out with friends here but the food really needs a lot of improvement! I don’t think I will be coming back…

The food here was consistent with what I have tried at other OSFs in WA and CA. Good and reasonably priced. The environment is nice as well.
However, the service at the downtown Nashville location was less than a professional three-​course restaurant service. Main course was brought to our table less than 5 min after the soup/​salad starter. I hadn’t even had half of my soup yet when the spaghetti was put next to it. So it had to sit on the table while I finished soup.
Similar thing with dessert (ice cream). It came without asking us if we were done with food, which we weren’t. It felt like the server just wanted to get done with his routine. Food gets 4 and service gets 2 stars.

UPDATE TO FEB. 2015 REVIEW: Okay, first I’ll start with 3 words — Simply The BEST! We had a horrible experience in Feb. of this year, but after receiving a gift certificate and personal invitation from Sami Khoury, the General Manager, to give them another chance, we just collected on the invitation and SO glad we did!
My husband had (of course) the Mazithera, meatballs & sauce. Well, just AWESOME! I tried something new for me which was the Jumbo Crab Ravioli in Pesto Alfredo — this was excellent! My son tried the Jumbo Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo and he scraped the plate clean (and finished my last 2 Raviolis cause I was full) [Ah, to have an 18-​year old teenager’s stomach capacity — am I right?!] The bread (perfect) and the house salad (tastie) are never disappointing.
And with all that awesomeness, I can’t leave out our server, Victor! He has been a server there for some 18 years (I think that’s what Sami said) and his expertise and good humor was the icing on the Happiness Cake! I hope we get him as our server EVERY time we come back… And YES, we will be back after this First-​Class, VIP-​treated experience!

I love this place! It reminds me of an old vampire movie with all the velvet and wood carvings. But it also has the old charm of a train station from the 40s or 50s. There is an old rail car inside as well which you can dine in.
There was light music playing in the background but not obtrusive at all. The lighting is soft and calming. It was cool and nice break from the heat outside.
The food is very good, I’ve eaten at one before however this trip we only had salads. They were, however very fresh and hit the spot.
Our waitress was very sweet and we didn’t have to wait for anything. I will defiantly take my family there when we go back to TN next summer.

We were there during CMAfest so it was busy… however I don’t think they were busy enough to take 30 minutes to get us our beers. When we finally got them, one glass has rubbed up next to a cocktail (that our table did not order) that was accompanied with cotton candy. Part of the cotton candy stuck to our beer glass and we were not offered a replacement. The salads were not good, just iceberg and a few croutons doused in non-​homemade dressing. Not to mention, the salads came out even before our waters did. The pasta was actually not bad, but the service ruined the whole experience for us.

I really enjoyed my meal here, I was eating alone and there was no WiFi but I actually felt very comfortable! The food is incredibly cheap, I can’t remember everything I got but I had a full meal, with dessert, one non-​alcoholic cocktail and iced tea with refills and I swear it only came to about 12 dollars! The Cotton Candy drink is insane, so so sweet but so tasty! Could do with a shot of vodka… :P
The service was great and they kept me happy all evening.
I did have some upset stomach that night but as I had been travelling for the previous two days I’m pretty sure it had nothing to do with the meal, I was just wrecked and probably ate too much.
Grand spot!

M is for money, which I will throw down for this cheese.
I is for the immaculate saltiness that is pleasing to me.
Z is for zany, to describe anyone who hates it.
I is for intrusive, a.k.a. talk to me while I’m eating and I’ll throw a fit.
T is for tummy, full and satisfied
H is for hangry, when mizithra is desired
R is for remedy, comfort food for the soul
A is for amazing, when I can eat the whole damn bowl.
The spumoni dessert is good too and worth getting.
Service at this particular location was friendly and super attentive even though the whole place was ridiculously busy with 30 minute waits. Yes. I will wait 3 hours if I have to if i’m craving this mizithra goodness.
tl;dr mizithraaaaaaaa I love you.
