Stewarts Ferry Wine & Liquors

It’s a liquor store, what more do you want? Lol. It’s like a half-​mile from my house and they have a good selection of wine and liquors. They recently started this sampling night, I’m not sure of the times sorry, but you get to come in and sample a few different wines and they even have some beers on tap where you can fill a growler and sample them as well. Those were good additions. Everyone in here has always been cool to me. I get greeted and thanked and they’ve helped me out a few times when I needed it. Their prices are average with everyone else that is around that part of town. You can save a few dollars if you want to drive 5 miles further but it’s not really worth it to me. I’ll just keep coming here, I like em.

This place works when you’re in a rush and it’s on the way to wherever you’re going. I prefer Frugal MacDoogal’s selection and prices over this place. Some of the items are kind of dusty on the shelves. They have a large selection as the size of the store goes. There always seems to be a large about of staff behind the counter but they never work the floor and ask if you need any help. I guess this isn’t that kind of place, but even when you go to the counter they aren’t that friendly.

Interesting store. Take some time to weed thru all the inventory. Store had several bottles of wine that were dusty. Boxes sitting in the middle of the store. Cashier sitting behind the counter eating and didn’t even bother to ask if we needed help. Luckily I don’t live in the area and only have this place to frequent. I’d drive miles to not come back here again.

I went here the other night. I watched the man behind the counter mess up the change for the woman in front of me. Should have been a clue to leave because when I went to pay for my own alcohol I first handed him the 15 $ and then begun to dig for the change. He put the 15 $ in the drawer and when I handed him the change he claimed I never gave him the cash! I ended up forking over another 20 dollars because I just didn’t know what to do. I insisted that I already gave him the cash but he swore I didn’t. The cashier (the one with the dog) is either terrible at being a cashier or is straight up stealing. I will never go here again and I suggest if you do you watch your money VERY closely.
tl;dr– The man working there will steal from you right in front of your face and claim he didn’t.
