I know beer. I know bars. I know people. This place has all three and they’re good at it. Newer kid on the block with the brewery scene but doing it right. Trendy because they just are, not the «trendy» places try to be just to take your money. Don’t forget this place because it will be the place to be in no time for the true local. Let the tourists have the traps. Shout out to Greg, he’s a badass, true to the city.

Pretty good little local spot. Beer was pretty good too. Seems like a newer place. Anxious to see where this place is in a year or so.

Try the Belgian Table Beer. U will not be disappointed. Friendly staff. Nice relaxed environment

Their beer is on point! I have yet to try one that I didn’t like. I especially love the Pilsner, and I usually go for darker beers. The atmosphere is really chill, but there is plenty of space to bring a large group and play ping-​pong while you drink your beers. Their bar food is locally made and surprisingly delicious. Keep up the good work!

I love this brewery! It is one of my favorite spots in East Nashville. I had considered giving up alcohol until finding Smith & Lentz. The Mosaic IPA is delicious and the staff/​owners were friendly and very knowledgeable about beer. I am really excited we have a new microbrewery in Nashville. Keep up the great work!

Coolest new brewery in East Nashville. So new it doesn’t even have a sign yet!
Pros:
1. The beer, obviously! We were a big group and tried several of their beers! And, for a small, new brewery, they have a lot of options! We tried a Pils, a Hefe, and a couple of IPAs.
2. GAMES. They have a small (but hopefully growing) collection of board games and a couple of ping pong tables! We played a little ping pong and a lot of Yahtzee! What’s better than beer and games?
3. They have food! They were out of pretzels while we were there, but we did try some of the potato and cabbage dumplings, which were pretty good! Okay, so it’s not great food. i’m pretty sure they’re just heating things up. But they know that I — and lots of other people — are willing to stay at breweries a lot longer if they’ve got food!
4. Overall — great place. What more could we need? TVs, games, beer, and food? Sold. Clean bathrooms — big bonus. They offer tours of the brewery — but we were having too much fun to leave our table! Lots of big tables! Great light! Helpful staff.
Cons? None, really. We had a GREAT time at Smith & Lenz Brewing! Can’t wait to see how it grows as it has a few more months under its belt!

Thought we would check this out on our way through Nashville. Good tap list and a cool space. Like that they serve half pints. Easier to try more beer that way. Love the oatmeal stout.

Full disclosure, I only stopped by for a small baby beer, but I did enjoy that baby beer. It was tasty and actually pretty good for a newer brewery. I remember when some of the other breweries first opened and oof! they needed some work. Side note, they have all also come a long way and each have really grown in their own way!
Smith & Lentz is huge, gigantic. It’s perfect for larger groups as they have picnic tables. They also have a ping pong table which makes me very, very happy. If I am going to drink, I prefer that there is an activity involved. Especially one where I can spike the ball and yell, «Boom! Take that, SUCKERRRRR!» This is mostly directed towards my honey bunny, poor guy.
If you are a beer person you should definitely check out S&L. For all others, if you like beer or chill hangs, then this is the place for you. You can even take a tour. A Saturday afternoon beer? S&L has got you!

Great beer! My favorite was the Hefeweizen my husband likes their stout too.
