I love sam and Zoe’s so much. As a mama with kids I love being able to call ahead and roll through the drive thru to pick up. Their coffee and sandwiches are delicious! My son loves their smoothies— they are just a little on the pricey side

Very nice little coffee/sandwich/breakfast spot, got the egg and avocado sandwich on a bagel and it was delicious! Their smoothies are bomb too!

Sam & Zoe’s is an adorable, charming, casual coffeeshop that is less crowded that many other coffeeshops in Nashville! I had a great cappuccino and loved the ambiance! Definitely a great place for meetings or working/studying!

Easily my favorite coffee shop in Nashville. Iced mocha! Mmmm. Great regular coffee too! No cream needed– the best kind. One day, after being snowed in for 3 – 4 days I made the treacherous drive over to Sam and Zoe’s only to find that I forgot my wallet at home. Huge bummer especially since I already ordered my coffee. Thankfully the lovely staff let me have my coffee anyway!!! I was so appreciative that I made sure to pay double the next time I was there. Little things go a long way! Thanks guys!

I love the shakes, coffee quality, and small eats at Sam & Zoe’s. I love that it fulfills a much-needed gap of coffee services in Central South Nashville. I also love the mixture of indoor and outdoor seating(the covered patio is pretty comfortable). I will say, however, that I absolutely hate the parking here. I was lucky enough to snag a spot closer to the street during the lunch hour, but I witnessed an accident as someone was trying to enter the lot from the nearby intersection. I also wish, like I often wish of the smaller coffee shops in the area, that Sam & Zoe’s had longer business hours to cater to my creative working hours(yeah, let’s go with«creative» as a descriptor). Word of warning: they do post a disclaimer that they will shut off wifi during peak hours. So, keep that in mind if you’re prowling the coffee shops at the same time as the other prowlers.

I owe Sam & Zoe’s all the credit for helping me stay awake at work. I go before almost every shift. I work nights so it’s never crowded at 5pm. The dirty chai latte is my drink and they make the best in Nashville, hands down. Staff is always friendly and they try hard to make sure you get exactly what you want/need(thank you for talking me out of 3 shots of espresso, I def don’t need that much right now). The sandwiches are amazing and the gluten free bread isn’t dry or gritty. I was actually concerned the first time I tried it because it tasted so good… As for going at normal times in the day, I never have a problem finding seating and the porch is wonderful! Especially for watching the sun rise over Baja Burrito. Make this place your regular and it won’t disappoint.

I have lived in the area for a few years but finally checked this place out last Wednesday. The menu is very enticing; it was hard to decide what to order. I went with a half chicken salad sandwich(I am obsessed with chicken salad) and half café salad. The sandwich was delightful; the sourdough bread was perfectly toasted. It was a tad bit on the runny side, but the yummy flavor totally compensated. The salad was very colorful and filled with cheese, bacon, and lots of lettuce. I didn’t love the ranch dressing, but that’s okay. I will try honey mustard next time. The cashier was super friendly and the service was fast and painless. I can’t wait to go back for breakfast and try one of the many scrumptious sounding lattes that appear on the menu!

My friend and I stopped at Sam & Zoe’s for a quick bite before I hit the road and headed back to Cincinnati after a weekend in Nashville. It wasn’t what I thought it was going to be(I thought it was a sit-down, but you order at the counter and they bring out your food), but I loved the cozy size and food selection. Everything was made fresh and there were both healthy and splurge-worthy options. I had the greek breakfast sandwich, fruit parfait and coffee for about $ 12. There was a lot of local art and murals on the walls, which gave it a hipster vibe, along with the clientele I noticed. The employees were very friendly, and definitely made me wish there were more places like this in my hometown!

I’ve been here a couple of times now and it’s definitely a 3 star«A-OK» rating in my book. The place is pretty small but there usually seems to be at least a table or two open. The service has been fine for me and the coffee is generally good, as is the Tea of Good Tidings. Actually, the tea deserves 5 stars, it was delicious and I want to know where they get it from. Anyway, the food is good and fine. If you’re not feeling up to the task of making breakfast, S&Z’s is a good alternative but it’s not going to wow you. I normally don’t review places that are average but I felt that I needed to make it know to the Unilocal universe about their«breakfast burrito.» When I see a breakfast burrito on a menu, I stop looking because that’s what I’m having. I consider myself a connoisseur of breakfast burritos. It was the first and only thing I saw on the menu yesterday morning. When I asked for extra salsa and the guy said«it doesn’t come with salsa but I can add some» I began to get worried. What kind of breakfast burrito doesn’t come with salsa? It arrived… but it didn’t deliver. What was placed in front of me was a breakfast wrap. Sure, it was eggs, peppers, and onions inside a tortilla, but it wasn’t a burrito. It was wrapped in paper(like a wrap) and cut in half(like a wrap). My breakfast burrito-y dreams were crushed. It was OK tasting. after I got over the salty taste from my tears.

I have eaten at Sam & Zoe’s no less than a dozen times. I’ve tried a range of things from both the breakfast and the lunch menu, ordering at different times of day and on different days throughout the week. With that being said, regardless of when I have ordered, the customer service has been incredibly lacking. If this rating was based on food alone, I’d give this place 4 – 5 stars. Everything I have eaten from here has been really tasty. However, the service leaves something to be desired. To walk you through today’s experience: I attempted to call and place a to go order. It took a solid 10 minutes of repeated phone calls to get someone on the phone. This is a common occurrence. I understand that lunch time is busy, but it should not take a dozen phone calls to place a to go order. Once I finally had someone on the phone, they told me it would be about 15 minutes until my food was ready. When I showed up later, it took a full five minutes of sitting in the drive through window before I was acknowledged. Again, super typical. While five minutes may not seem like a long time, it is a long time to be sitting unacknowledged when my food has been previously ordered. My drive thru experience from start to finish typically takes between 10 – 15 minutes, which again, is a long time for what is supposed to be a more convenient option. Upon checking my bag to make sure my order was correct, I was greeted by an incredibly sloppy salad(of which I have added a picture). The salad as pictured is exactly how it was handed to me, with chicken salad poured on top of my dressing cup. Dressing was also all over the sides of the cup, which means my hands got covered as I tried to remove the dressing. This is not the first sloppy item I have received from Sam & Zoe’s. TL;DR? The food is good, but be prepared to wait and be underwhelmed by the customer service.

Oh my gosh, how did it take me so long to discover this sweet little gem?! We popped in here for brunch today and fell in LOVE with it! I ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich & tomato/gorgonzola soup and my fiancé ordered the breakfast burrito. We loved our dishes, the ingredients were super fresh and sooooo yummy. We also ordered cappuccinos and those were really good too. It’s a small restaurant so parking is kind of tight but it is definitely worth coming to for brunch! Really cool artwork everywhere. Great place to come for coffee or for an entire meal. Service was great and we got our food pretty quickly. Really happy that we found this place because it’s only a few miles away from our house, I have a feeling we will become regulars!

Stopped by after lunch with my mom for a quick coffee break. One small coffee, one medium Mayan mocha, and an oatmeal dessert bar($ 9.26 — though there are no prices on the menu). Coffee was smooth and they had regular and almond milk available. Mom liked her Mayan mocha because it was sweet enough(without too much sweetness) and had interesting moderated cinnamon flavor plus it came out at the perfect temperature. Pass on the oatmeal dessert bar! The agave sweetener(my best guess) flavor was overpowering and unpleasant. Eclectic crowd enjoy themselves in this low key space with plenty of seating indoors and out. Staff was friendly. I have had lunch here, but it must not have blown my mind because I literally remember nothing about the food.

DONOTGOHEREFORGOODCUSTOMERSERVICE. I don’t understand what the hype is about. October 30th was my first time EVER actually going into Sam & Zoe’s. I have a friend who lives in Florida and every time she comes to visit her family she HAS to make a stop to this joint. I’ve had S&Z’s coffee before because other friends buy it for me. I was actually REALLY excited to be going in for the first time. I was dressed as Ursula from The Little Mermaid. It was 8:30ish am. I am not a morning person, so I understand other people such as the employees from S&Z’s probably did not find my friend or I amusing in little mermaid themed costumes. HOWEVER, we were not being obnoxious or trying to draw attention. We were dressed for work. Which by the way, what we do allows us to refer people to all the businesses around the beautiful Nashville area, so yes EVERYONE heard our story of how rude Sam & Zoe’s employees were to us. Even if you are not a morning person, you still have to try to put your best face forward and treat all customers as if it were their first time going(or just leave and let someone who actually enjoys customer service take your job because you suck at it). I asked the gentleman what kind of bagels they had and after a low grunt he proceeded to naming all the types of bagels. He never made eye contact with me, nor ever thank my friend or I for our purchase/visit. No one said hello, or greeted us when we or anyone else entered. I believe employees and managers should work together to build the environment for the customer and customer experience. The environment and vibe from S&Z’s is grim & foggy. Y’all get 3 stars because at least your coffee is good not great but good, I can just send my friends who are used to your ugly customer service to purchase coffee for me if I want, also because you have a «Where the Wild Things Are» painting and it was the only cheerful thing in your shop… Even though the painting was in black and white. Yup. First & last visit.

Sam & Zoe’s has usually had very good reviews so I gave it a couple of tries before writing mine but after 3 or so visits I’m honestly unimpressed. There are tons of coffee options whether you are looking for regular drip coffee, a pre-determined recipe of a latte type drink or a make-your-own combo by selecting your own syrups. I’ve made my own before and I’ve tried one of their recipes and its good but it doesn’t stand out as great. I have only had food for breakfast and the ingredients seem fresh and made to order but again there is nothing that makes the food stand out as something I crave or go out of my way for. I’ve tried a bacon/egg/cheese on a bagel and it was just missing on flavor. Same goes for the breakfast burrito… which by the way don’t ever order onions because although they seem sauteed, it was red onion, not sweet onion so it was too pungent and there was WAYYYY too many included… but anyways overall it was bland in flavor. Personally I am the type of person that likes to go to restaurants to eat something I can’t make at home and I felt like I could’ve hopped back into their kitchen and found SOMETHING to add(spices/sauces/whatever) to give the food some more flavor but since that’s usually frowned upon I think I’ll just pass on Sam & Zoe’s in the future.

Discovered Sam & Zoe’s last year on a road trip with my daughter. She liked it so much, she asked if we could stop there again on our way home. So we did. On a road trip with my son this summer and he asked if we could go there based on his sister’s recommendation. So, we are back again. Great coffee. Love their Smoothies. Tasty breakfast or lunch options, and friendly, helpful staff. Bottom Line: If you like eclectic, bohemian style coffee shops with their own personality, and are within 50+ miles of Nashville, it’s worth it to stop in.

I always enjoy this place. It is one of my favorite breakfast joints in town. I love their breakfast bagels so much. I’ve never had one let me down. The only thing i find bothersome is the heat of their coffee. It is the temperature of the sun. I always have to buy the coffee in enough time to let it cool down and be drinkable, otherwise I burn my mouth every time. They are great for easy meetings, they have wifi, most of the times, except during their busiest times when they cut it off sometimes. Great place to try for sure. I love local businesses.

I tried the carma chameleon. It was tasty. I have it a four instead of 5 stars bc the barista was a bit rude and rushed. The drinks were quickly made but nicely flavored. The atmosphere was nice with inside and outside seating options. Great place for an afternoon break!

Stopped here(thanks Unilocalers!) for a chai latte(ended up getting it with a shot of expresso, which I don’t recommend) and a quick breakfast/snack on my way through Nashville to Louisville. I was specifically looking for something with a drive-thru. Well, it has one, but you have to call in your order ahead of time. ;-) It’s a really cute coffee shop with exceptional customer service. However, I didn’t like anything I bought there(muffins, oatmeal, cookie) — I guess I need to order something else next time.

Cute little coffee house. It was quite busy in there, we just got hot chocolate and coffee. Overall it was a decent place, but there was a group of girls sitting in the corner who were extremely loud, loud enough that at times you couldn’t even talk over them. They got dirty looks form many people there too. They shut off the wi-fi between 10:00&2:00 which I thought was odd for a coffee house. I guess they are trying to get people to move along?
