I had no idea Pearl was SO trendy. Dark, loud DJ, and a very hands on staff. Definition of «hands on staff»: hugged me the second I walked through the door and continued to put an arm around me while the menu was discussed. The food wasn’t terrible, it certainly wasn’t fantastic either. As a fellow diner accurately put it, it would be easy to spend a lot of money at Pearl for sushi that is less than stellar. Several specialty rolls can cost around $ 19. Prices aside… Pearl’s menu has sushi, but only rolls. No nigiri to be found. There is «Asian» fare, including such inoffensive dishes as Beef and Broccoli and Teriyaki Chicken. But then there are steaks, salads and fish entrees as well. Otherwise known as… American fare. I understand once you drop the term«fusion» in a restaurant name, your bracket tends to loosen up a bit. But really. If you want really good sushi… you know what to do. P. S. I really like hot sake. I understand that one usually heats sake because that sake is in fact considered the«crappy», or lesser sake. Well, the hot sake at Pearl was less than lesser. It probably would have disinfected the cut I have on my finger, though.

Overall the food was okay. I went with my girlfriend. She had the tuna sashimi and found it to a little fatty. I had the teriyaki chicken and it was good. The chicken was tender and easy to cut with just a fork. The restaurant is located in a very neat area of town. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is slightly hotel lounge-ish. It is very dark inside and modern in a 1980’s kind of way. They had a DJ. The DJ wasn’t my taste but could be yours. Overall, If you’re trying to find some interesting food this place is worth checking out. If you’re trying to impress a first date, I would go elsewhere.

A couple of friends and I were cruising the strip late one day and we were looking for a place to sit down have a snack and a drink. We were pleasantly surprised when we popped into Pearl. The décor is very hip and trendy inside. It is a Japanese fusion restaurant with really good Sushi rolls and steaks too. I had the Budda Role, which consisted of avocado, cucumber, egg, and crab. The flavor was robust and the crab tasted pretty fresh. I had the big eye tuna sashimi, which was okay. I will come back soon. The prices are not too bad either.
