Olive Oil Store

Oh my GOSH why did it take me so long to come here when it is right down the street and it is full of amazingness?! I HAVE NO IDEA. But know I know the Olive Oil Store is here and I can’t ever go back to regular store bought olive oil ever again.
So we wandered in to check it out and were immediately struck speechless by the containers full of all sorts of flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegars. I immediately grabbed one of the little cups and started tasting before the person working there came out to talk to us. Each one has a little card beside it that says which oils could pair well with each vinegar and also what foods it would be good on, etc.
So then the lady that works there came out and asked if we had been there. We said no and let her do her thing. Teach me oh wise one! She went through all the extra virgin olive oils and how the flavors are different and then showed us the flavored ones too. Flavors like cayenne, garlic, chipotle, herb, lemon, etc. Almost anything you can think of. Then the balsamic — they had an aged one that was the best tasting vinegar ever. Until I tried one of the herb ones. OH MY GOD. Basically, I was ready to drop some serious cash within about 5 minutes. The good news is after 12 bottles you get one free and they keep track on their computer. Also they will refill the bottles and you get a discount if you bring them in. The BF and I managed to get some extra virgin olive oil with the highest amount of antioxidants (?), the aged balsamic, the herb balsamic, the garlic and the chipotle olive oils. I like to make my own salad dressings so this stuff is awesome! But I’ve also used it on sandwiches, in mashed potatoes, as meat marinade, etc.
A couple of other things to note: they have some small gift items like olive/​cheese plates, cookbooks, etc. And there’s a website that has recipes that use these specific oils so you can go online and get inspired.
You should go in here since you will love it if you love olive oils and balsamic vinegar. But be warned that you are going to want to buy one of everything.

OMG!!! I finally went there and had been walking past it for a year thinking it was probably expensive. So one wdalyic decided to go in and let me just say the oils axe delicious and the flavored balsamic are addictive. I’ve taken my sister them my friend and they are hooked. Inhale like 6 balsamic flavors and 2 olive oil flavors and plant to collect many more. These are a must for a taste freak. Lord have mercy on my taste buds! They’ve gone to heaven. I even find myself some days just taking a sip… yes, it’s that addictive and delicious!

So I get to sample items prior to purchasing? Did I mention it is free? Sign me up!
I stumbled into this little jewel of a shop on my lunch break one day. I spent close to an hour sampling and asking questions. I wound up with a nice little selection of oils and vinegars. I chose some for cooking and others for either salads or flavoring a finished product. For those of you who think that oil is oil, you really need to drop by and do a little comparison. You’ll be amazed at the nuances and flavors. Some are nutty, some are fruity, some strong, some mild — a plethora of choices depending upon what personally makes your taste buds dance and sing!
Another great perk is that you can sign up for their emails. I’ve received a lot of great recipes from that.

What a great little store! The oils and vinegars are fabulous, and I love that you can sample before buying. The sales gal recommended basil olive oil with raspberry vinegar and it’s fabulous. I can’t wait to go back and see what other delicious combinations I can find. Staff is very helpful. They also have a club and, after a certain number of purchases, you get one free. Love this place!

For those of you who use olive oil for the health benefits, you should run, not walk to this store! From what I have learned about the supermarket oils in the book I have been reading-​Extra Virgin Virginity by Tom Mueller, most of what you find on the market is adulterated by other inferior oils or even rancid oils. The suppliers of the Olive Oil Store, Veronica Foods are passionate about olive oil and know their sources. You will find the freshest, purest and most delicious tasting oils at the Olive Oil Store!

We had a fun time visiting the Olive Oil Store when we visited Nashville. The manager was friendly and informative, encouraging us to try as many olive oils and vinegars as we wanted. I made a couple of gift purchases and then had to get myself something too! Cute store and nice idea!

Good selection. However if you receive a bottle as a gift they will not let you exchange for another. The manager refused to take a bottle back for exchange since it was a food item. Item was never opened. Williams Sonoma takes items back or gives exchanges for different flavored items. Even publix and Kroger take returns on food items for heavens sakes. Lost me as a future customer. Stick to my local whole foods or Mediterranean stores.

Taste testing new-​to-​me varieties of olive oils fills a need so I don’t accumulate olive oils I don’t love. That makes Olive Oil Store different from other places selling this healthy oil and so useful. Many of the vinegars and oils there are premium in quality and in price, but perhaps worth it. Of course there are also good olive oils at nearby Whole Foods, but not all these. A sample pack of six small bottles that I customized was a handy way to get several that I liked, to experiment with the different tastes in my recipes.
