When I first walked in, Nashville Cosmetic Surgery seemed less like a doctor’s office and more like a spa or a salon. The waiting area was cozy and and felt plush, like something out of a movie, and the women at the front desk were very kind and welcoming. I will admit that, even though the reason for my visit was to get a consultation for Latisse(which, in my eyes is pretty minimal as far as plastic surgery goes), I was a little bit self-conscious and nervous walking into a cosmetic surgery office. I was afraid I would feel out of place or that the doctors would try to push other products and/or procedures on me, but I never felt uncomfortable or like I was being bombarded. Throughout every moment of my visit, I felt like I was being taken care of and educated as to what was happening. The woman from the front desk even called me to follow up on my appointment a few days later. Really high-quality service. Because I was receiving a consultation for Latisse, I elected to not wear mascara to my appointment, but I did go ahead and wear foundation, blush, etc. as normal, figuring that stuff wouldn’t matter. It turned out that I was asked to remove all of my makeup for the«before» photos(which are a part of the consultation – they take photos of your eyelashes to monitor their growth, but also photograph your face to see your skin age, sun spots, etc. Really cool!!). Because my appointment was at 9 and I had to go straight to work after, I was unfortunately left to go through the rest of my day naked-faced. It was probably a good break for my skin, but I wished that I had been told about this beforehand so I could have brought my makeup along. They did have nice face-washing products and moisturizer though! That small snafu aside, I had a great experience with NCS and would highly recommend it. The staff is kind and genuine, the facilities are beautiful and clean, and my eyelashes(and eyebrows!) are looking amazing!

Dr. Griffin saved my skin… quite literally. After an acne-filled adolescence(even under a dermatologist’s care), my twenties and early 30s weren’t so focused on great skin. In fact, I didn’t really think I would ever have clear skin. Enter Dr. G and his skin care team. It took me a while to come around to the fact I could actually undo all the damage: almost like therapy, I had to unlearn all the things I’d been«taught»: like, «just because you buy high-dollar moisturizer, it doesn’t mean it’s right for you, or high-quality.» Then there was the«if it says ‘all-natural’, it must be good for your skin» lesson. WRONG. Bottom line: the years of using cheap and wrong skin care products, poor diet, lack of sunscreen, and a host of other factors did me zero favors. But there was hope. Dr. G and his team(lovingly) took me back to skin care school, and within less than a month, my skin was clear. I was wearing less makeup and looking younger. And now, over six months later, my skin is still clear and on the road back to recovery(chemical peels and Retin-A will work wonders, ya’ll.) Big girl skin care: it’s worth it. I wish I’d learned this in my 20s.
