Great asset for the City. Good locations. Price is significantly cheaper than some other cities. Highly recommended.

As a bikeshare rider in the second largest bikeshare city in the country, I am happy to say that B-Cycle was awesome. Nashville isn’t a HUGE city but they have a bunch of B-Cycle stations all over the downtown/Broadway/east Nashville area and it’s only $ 5 for 24 hours of cycling. Your $ 5 will get you 24 hours of unlimited 60-minute trips around the city. This kind of cycling is best for leisurely sightseeing and getting from one place to another like from your hotel to a restaurant or bar. We took our bikes from the dock near our hotel(and the Capitol) down to the river, up Broadway, up 2nd street, and just around the nightlife in the area to see what was going on. The ride near the river was nice and leisurely and there wasn’t too much bike traffic to fight with. I will DEFINITELY do this again. I signed up for my 24 hours online and then just put my credit card into the machine at the dock and grabbed a bike right away. I was really happy with the service, its convenience, and its cheap price. Worth a ride, for sure.

So nice to have them in our neighborhood! Easy access and rental. Very inexpensive and stations are scattered about town. I love the basket, great for holding water bottles and other items. A must try! We use them often.

Great experience! Nice and comfortable bikes, lots of bikes available, nice that they include the locks with the bike! Lots of stations, pretty easy to figure out, love the basket on the front of the bike, just makes it a bit heavy. Decent prices.

When my manfriend and I travel, we try to drive as little as possible; relying on public transit as much as humanly possible. Reading the talk threads and TripAdvisor, it seemed like that wasn’t the best option, so on a lark, I Googled Nashville bike share and found B-Cycle. Frankly, I’m gobsmacked I’m getting the first to review for it. I’m fairly familiar with bike sharing, in my hometown of Chicago I’m a member of ours, which we got last year. I’ve used it in Minneapolis too. What’s to like: –Nashville has bike sharing — this is great for locals and visitors alike –Cost — at $ 5 for a 24-hour pass of 1-hour rides* it’s a much better deal than Chicago –7-day and 30-day pass options. This is quite the deal if you’re a traveler. The 7-day pays for itself in two! –An app that I can use to find stations –Large baskets for my stuff and built-in bike locks What’s not to like: –The website should quite obviously direct you to their app; ideally detecting if you’re using a mobile browser. I only found it by searching B-Cycle in my app store. If you’re on a phone or tablet on the website, trying to navigate the system map, it is infuriating. FAIL, this isn’t B-Cycles first rodeo, they really need to fix it. –All bike-sharing websites should recognize the ridership contains a good number of tourists. I want directions that point me to the nearest station, then route me to the station closest to my destination. If it also pointed me from there to my final destination, well that would just be aces. Instead I cobbled a bunch of stuff together, made notes in Google Keep and hoped for the best. –A countdown timer like Divvy’s(Chicago’s) Cyclefinder app, so I know how long I’ve been riding and when I may need to swap bikes. –More stations are needed! Initially, I thought this was a brand, spankin’ new system. It’s not, per the website it launched 1.5 years ago. Currently, it’s not super convenient, which is a shame; they need to amp up the station rollouts and marketing. I talked to locals who didn’t even know it existed. –As stated above, at best, we walked a ½ mile to our final destination, at worst over 1 mile in the afternoon heat. What I don’t love, but can deal with: –There’s no bungee cord, like at home, to secure my stuff. Hit a bump and stuff is in danger of flying out; if I lived here, I’d buy one for my purse. –The gear shifts are awkward; «+» is at the bottom of the gear dial and«-» is at the top; I shifted the wrong way countless times. –Better pedals; they’re slippery, much of the rubber is worn down. Overall, B-Cycle is a huge asset to Nashville for visitors and Nashvillians alike. Next time I visit, I’d rent a bike again; I just keep my fingers cross there are more stations. * The passes seem to confuse most people I’ve talked to about bike sharing. Your pass(24, 7, 30, annual) allows you to take the bike out for a maximum of 1 hour at a time during the established timeframe. If a single ride is more than 1 hour, you have to pay an overage fee. To avoid this, dock the bike and take another out immediately to reset the clock.
