Let me preface this review… I am from Texas. We live for our BBQ. So… Martin’s was great. I had the dry half-slab of baby back ribs, green beans and potato salad. The ribs were very tender. It was my first dry slab of ribs, but the friend that took us there recommended it. They were awesome. The green beans were cooked perfectly… forever! The potato salad was good, but I will probably try another side next time. I did sample a bite of coconut cake and I would recommend that, too. Not real coconutty… just perfect!

Best BBQ in Nashville! Wow, we had a taste of everything and it was amazing. I usually steer clear of BBQ because I taste it later. This place was excellent, nothing later that night to complain about. Definitely gotta try this place if you are in Nashville.

Pretty solid overall. Not the best barbecue you’ll have, but it’s unlikely you will have a bad meal. My favorite is the spare ribs. Really, really moist and tender– not tough at all. I’d opt for them wet, as you get some slight caramelization going on. The pulled pork is forgettable: really not smoky or overly flavorful– but it can work well with their vinegar based sauce. Prices are fair and portions are big: my only real complaint is the sauces aren’t all that diverse. Mainly thinner, more tangy sauces with no thick or sweet style(unless you count their Southern Belle as the thickest).

I’m from Texas, so I was eager to try some Nashville barbecue and compare. My friend told me to try the dry rub spare ribs so I followed his lead. For my sides I went with the baked beans and potato salad. The ribs are phenomenal — the meat fell right off the bones. The dry rub was the perfect balance of sweet/smoky/spicy and any other s-adjective you can think of. Ask for a side of the Alabama White sauce to dip the meat into — you won’t regret it. The combination was amazing. The potato salad and baked beans were good and went well with the ribs. Their sweet tea was great as well, it wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet like it can be at some places. Depending on when you go you might(and probably will) have to wait in line. Don’t let that deter you, just find a parking spot and wait it out. Stalk a family near the end of their meal and poach their table. 10⁄10 would Martin’s again

New favorite BBQ spot in Nashville. Got the Big Mommas plate and everything was good. Ribs were the best but the brisket and the pulled pork were both delicious. Line was long but well worth it. Wasn’t crazy about the sides but the meat made up for it.

The ONLY reason I’m giving this place one star is bc I have to give it a star rating but truth be known that I did not get to eat at Martin’s. Why! Bc they were SOLDOUT of everything! We walked in on a Sunday around 8pm, stood on line, when some who works there said«just to let you know before you wait on line. We’re sold out of everything and only have smoked sausage.» uhhh smoked sausage??! No, thanks. We’re good. Total let down. So word the wise go early. I’m not sure how much earlier, but if you want to try this place then 8pm on a Sunday is def a no-no. Maybe next time, Martin’s!

Affordable and delicious. We came with 9 people so we got the Big Poppa Platter. Man, am I glad we did. We got to try almost everything and it was super affordable. They were out of chicken so we substituted in turkey. I found it a little dry, so I wish we could have tried the turkey. The brisket was very good. I don’t eat pork so I couldn’t try the ribs or the pulled pork, but others said it was delicious. We got a side of french fries, baked beans, mac and cheese, and corn bread. The corn bread was more like corn pancakes. Honestly, I liked the texas toast better than I did the corn bread. The mac and cheese was ok. The baked beans had pork in them, but I heard they were good. The french fries were pretty good. Overall, I’d try different sides. This place can get super crowded. Definitely come at an off time. We got there about 6 p.m. and there was still a long line! By the time we left at prime dinner time, the line snaked around the restaurant. It was pretty cold inside, so definitely bring a jacket. Nashville is known for it’s bbq so this is definitely a place you should check out.

Martin’s BBQ is our go to family restaurant. Our kids love it, our parents love it and we love it! The food is always delicious! A really cool and grisly occurrence(I think daily at 2pm), is that they bring in a large hog and butcher it the bar area. Kind of gross and gory, but really cool! At least my husband and kids think it is cool. Their parking lot is adjacent to the next door grocery store and I feel like I’m going to get towed every-time I park there. It hasn’t happened yet!

Martin’s is a must try for the BBQ lover. Having never been to Nashville prior to this visit, I was looking forward to trying some good ol’ fashion Tennessee BBQ. With so many options in the area, Being that this was a business trip, I was glad the team agreed to give Martin’s a try. The place was pretty busy, we lucked out on finding a table ample enough for everyone. One thing to know before arriving is to come extra hungry, you get plenty of food, and oh is it good. If there was downside it was that they ran out of certain meats, but that just goes to show how good the food is. They also had flat screens around the restaurant, so I was able to catch a little football during my meal… Service was good, you don’t twait to be seated, just order your food, find a table and they’ll bring it out to you. The experience was outstanding… Great food, Great atmosphere and Great company, that sums it up. Btw, they do sell the in house BBQ sauce in case you wish to bring some home.

So I pretty much hate BBQ and my family loves it and they go to Martin’s all the time. I opted for the brisket burger and oh my god it was incredible. Such good mix of flavors with the BBQ sauce on it. It reminded me a lot of the steak burger at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Good BBQ. We came in and there wasn’t much of a wait. It’s a huge place so you’re most likely guaranteed a table and catch whatever game is on. Fun ambience. The food is pretty affordable but not the best BBQ around. And they ran out of pulled pork when we went, com’on! The ribs and brisket were good but a bit too fatty for my taste. The cornmeal pancake was very good. Not a fan of the green beans at all.

Wow! I mean, wow! Martin’s Bbq is the best bbq in town hands down! We had guest from Hawaii visiting and we decided to do take out from Martins. We ordered the Big Pappa and it was ready in 25minutes… what!?! That seemed crazy to me bc it includes a full rack of ribs, pulled pork,½ chicken, 12 wings, brisket, and 3 sides. Meat heaven for those who love bbq. I only eat pork once in a blue moon, now I’ll have to change that to «only if it’s Martin’s bbq!». If you live in Nashville and haven’t had Martin’s do yourself a favor and go NOW

Honestly, I don’t know where to begin. The food was excellent. We dropped in from Texas, and we are no strangers to great barbeque, but this was the best any of us had ever eaten. Our group tried the ribs, brisket, cornbread, mac & cheese, coleslaw, and potato salad. Every bite of every dish was amazing. Martin was there, and he was very friendly. He showed us the pig in the smoker, hooked my daughter up with some free sweets to thank us for stopping in after 12 hours on the road, and the service was excellent. This place is extraordinary.

Hands down some of the best BBQ I have ever had! We got lucky with the line and came right at 6 on a Friday and there was none. By the time we sat down, there was a line almost out the door. I got the 4 bone baby ribs, wet, and there was a ton of tender, delicious meat on them. For sides, I got the baked beans and loaded potato. The beans tasted amazing and had meat in them. The baked potato was perfect to go with all of the BBQ food. I loved that there is a ton of seating and that the food comes out fast. I will definitely be coming back and buying some BBQ sauce to take home with me.

Did anyone else literally squeal when they learned that they no longer had to drive to Nolensville for Martin’s? Anyone? The food’s quality/taste is consistent with the original location’s awesomeness! I still recommend the Red Neck Taco — meat, slaw, and sauce on top of a cornbread cake. Add some mac & cheese or beans on the side(I’m not a huge fan of their potato salad) and chase it with a local beer. Perfection. My only minor issue is the amount of bbq smoke in the restaurant. In warmer weather the windows/garage doors are open and it’s not a bad, but basically, be prepared to smell like your lunch for a long time. Small price to pay, but be warned, it can get pretty intense when the windows aren’t open. Smelling your own clothes/hair will keep making you hungry for the rest of the day. Bonus: Free mini moon pies for everyone! Don’t forget to grab yours!

This place was pretty good. Standard barbecue, I didn’t notice anything really out of the ordinary BUT they did have a ton of great BBQ sauce options available(white BBQ sauce ruled). Wait service was also nice and helpful. I didn’t have any issues with this place. But it didn’t blow me away either and some sauces were a bit too vinegary for my taste. But overall, good food!

Wasn’t blow-my-mind amazing like I thought it was going to be, but still the best meal I’ve had in Nashville(so far). A solid BBQ joint with great pulled pork and a fun atmosphere. They’re known for their«whole hog» style cooking, which you can gather around and watch them open up [the pit] during your visit. I got the brisket also, on a recommendation from one of the girls who worked there, which was good but I think more puled pork would have been the way to go. Tried a bite of the Red Neck Taco, which was also solid, but again I would said pulled pork all the way at this place.

Martin’s is outstanding. I went twice on my visit to Nashville… one later at night and the other during lunch. Later at night they ran out of a few things(to be expected at a BBQ Joint. I went back the next day during lunch and all offerings were available… It’s about a 10 minute cab ride from the center of Nashville and all so worth it. You know you are close when you stick you head out of the window and smell the deliciousness… Martin“s is so superior to anything else I have tried in the Nashville area. Suck it up and grab an Über or cab to the Belmont area. I sampled the Baby Backs, Pulled Pork, Brisket, and Smoked Sausage. All were delicious. Martin’s is like most other BBQ Joints… get in line… look at what they have to offer and place your order and take a seat. They will find you a deliver you the delicious goodness…

I came to Nashville looking for some BBQ. While I can’t say that Martin’s is the hands down best, since I haven’t had enough BBQ in Nashville to compare, I can say that I was not disappointed. The first thing that struck me about his place was the ambiance. They take the typical BBQ joint vibe — license plates, photos of celebrities, and other oddities on the wall — and present it in a welcoming, modern way. The menu here is not all that expansive, but what they do, they do well. The signature thing here is the Redneck Taco, which is something of a misnomer, because you can’t really eat it like a taco. It’s more like an open faced sandwich. It’s pulled pork sitting on a cornbread cake topped with slaw. It’s delicious and very filling. And you pretty much have to eat it with a knife and fork. This is not finger food. Along with the redneck taco, I also added a single spare rib, Memphis dry rub style, just to judge them on their skills. The meet was tender and fell off the bone. The dry run was great and did not leave me wishing for sauce. I enjoyed it. A server came up to my table multiple times throughout my meal to check in on me. Overall great experience. I’d come back.

Martin’s dishes up some very good grub, but based on my brief lunch today I can’t say it’s up to the standards of the Midwest just yet. Yes I realize how dangerous it is to say this in a state containing a city called«Lynchburg.» I ordered the Ribs & Cue plate with wet baby backs, brisket, and sides of mac and cheese and baked beans. I asked for a defibrillator but they were fresh out. The rib meat came right off the bones with little encouragement from my fork, and the taste was salty and porky and nice. A bit on the dry side though, and the bark on them was tough. I ate probably ¾ of them and was exhausted from chewing and took a nap. The brisket was better; a little light in the smoke ring department, but tender beyond belief and it tasted very good. They were kind enough to include cuts from both the point and the flat, and the fatty tissue from the point had melted slowly away and left behind some very respectable meat. The mac and cheese was okay, but needed more tartness and life in the cheese flavoring. The beans had some good flavor layering but needed more time in the oven to really cook down. The sauces were stellar; although I only sampled two of them, by the time we left I was ready to drink them out of a glass. I’d come back, but only to load up on brisket and drown them in those fantastic sauces.
