The worst Kroger I have ever been to. Their produce section is always disgusting. Nothing is ever fresh and half the time things are just missing. I just want to find the manager and ask them if they would feed their family the food they put out for customers. Every time I come here something goes wrong. Expired food on the shelves(which no one seemed to care about when j let them know). Multiple times I have found shelf items way over expiration date. Multiple times I have bought things only to get them home and realize they are open(sour cream, boxed soup, feta cheese just to name a few) They NEVER have quality meat/chicken/fish. No organic meat, sometimes no meat at all. And to top it all off: is it so much to ask that when I walk in the store I can pick up a shopping basket by the door? Is this my biggest problem in life? No. Does it make me angry when I have to walk across the store EVERYTIME to get a basket because they never get put back? YES. I have shopped at Kroger my entire life. I HATE this Kroger. From now on I will drive the extra 3 miles for groceries. Blah.

This Kroger is alright overall. The staff is friendly most of the time and the produce always looks pretty good. This is the closest grocery store to my house and I’m not willing to drive any further since I usually go almost every day. That being said, I do have some constructive criticism. First, 3 out of 4 times when I go to the deli counter, no one is there, someone is there but is busy doing prep and ignores me(probably hoping I just go away), there is a line and all the employees are moving at a glacial pace, or it has closed early for some reason. Second, the meat in the meat section is usually disorganized and cut improperly– in weird inconsistent sizes. Third, on several occasions I’ve had cashiers double bag nearly everything in my cart. Not every item needs to be double bagged. You do not need to double bag produce that weighs 2 pounds. Also, and this is a problem I’ve noticed at multiple Krogers, if you ask for paper bags the employees usually have to go find them and it seems to really inconvenience them. It is 2015. Paper bags should be at every check out lane and I shouldn’t feel bad for requesting them.

It’s by far the cleanest store in the Glenview area. The day customer service workers are awesome. But if you arrive after 10:59 pm — you’re going to self-check. No exceptions. And I really loathe their machines.

I think this Kroger has taken a change for the better. From what I understand, there is new management and he seems to be trying hard to turn things around. The store is always neat and clean when we go in. I’ve even had people stop and ask if they could help me because I looked confused. I do recommend using the Kroger card when shopping because otherwise it’s not worth the cost. You can also get 10 cents off per gallon at their gas station when you accumulate 100 points, which isn’t hard to do. And something that I’m THRILLED about is they have an organic section. I do try and avoid shopping here around rush hour because of how crowded it gets but I think that’s more the people than the actual store. Big plus is they’re open 24 hours so I can avoid Walmart! If you had problems with this location I would give them another shot and see how much they’ve changed.

I’m spoiled coming from Chicago that had good ol’ Mariano’s. There’s no produce, and what’s there is pretty tasteless. Honeycrisp apples for $ 3.50 a lb? OK, I tried them. No flavor. It’s awful. And sad since Honeycrisp are so freaking good! Pros: decent, though expensive, GF stuff. Decent sales. Cons: I’ve only had one good cashier here. I’ve been treated quite rudely here on several occasions. I don’t need someone to be super talkative, but not outright rude either. Need faster baggers too… this last guy bagged on stoner speed. Woof. I stood there for like 3 awkward minutes because he was blocking the bagging area so I couldn’t jump in and help without reaching for his crotchular area. SOOOOO awkward.

It doesn’t matter what time of the day or night you go here or what day of the week, the odds of them having produce in stock is about 30%. This has been going on since I moved to the area and now I drive 3x the distance to go somewhere else instead of here because I’ll just have to drive back two or three more times to get everything I needed anyway.

Oh Kroger. I really want to give you a better rating since you’re like 300 feet from my house, but you’re just so… mediocre. Even by Kroger standards! The last Kroger I lived by was around the same size but was always loaded with produce and products alike. Meanwhile, this location perpetually has partly empty aisles. Also, the produce — I can’t ever buy fully fresh romaine hearts of lettuce. I try so hard to avoid walmart but even THEY have better produce — and that’s a challenge on its own. It’s not just the lettuce either, most of the other stuff seems to go bad a bit faster than other supermarkets I’ve been to. I guess they don’t restock as much since they don’t have as much people. On the topic of empty aisles again, they seem to run out of a lot of products really fast, and I don’t just mean soda on weekend nights. If you end up going past 8 or 9 pm, you’ll see a ton of the bread and soda and produce and meat is gone. I understand this for stuff that goes bad, but why not stock more soda and bread and etc? It’s not like it goes bad! So frustrating. All in all, it’s mediocre and good for what you can find, and the 24 hour store time is very useful. I even found filet mignon here(must of had magical luck that day?). Definitely not coming here for produce anymore though.

This Kroger isn’t really THAT terrible. Yes, they are out of stock on certain things a lot, but you also have to cut this place some slack. There are about 4 – 5 big apartment complexes right by this particular Kroger. Although its a hassle to go and them not have what you want, I def try to be understanding. Plus its so conveniently located, that I cant really complain too much. It serves its basic purpose. As for the selection of what they sell, I wish they had more produce. I also wish they had a sushi bar and soup bar like the one by my work does. All in all, if the Apocalypse does decides to come you can get your basics here and be just fine. haha.

Whoa whoa whoa The Krog — I understand I hit you a bit late, but all the self checkouts were down and the only non-self checkout line closed behind me, that’s not an excuse for yelling. Your cashier yelled at the customers that she is only one woman and to hold the hell on. She yelled at some other people, not me as a note. I’d tried 2 of the self-checkout stations and both of them hard locked every time I used a coupon(it was too good to not use the coupon) Yeah, something’s gotten under their skin… it feels like the tipping point at which The Krog will have a downhill run into surly town…

I have a love/hate relationship with this Kroger. The love part is its proximity to where I live. It’s kind of the only choice I have in the area. The hate is the rest of the experience. I would say that it’s well stocked only a small percentage of the time, the employees are only marginally friendly and/or helpful, and it’s only«fairly» clean(it ain’t Publix). I can generally get what I need though, and I guess that should be enough. I’m glad that there is a gas station close by and that makes my errand running less dreadful since I can knock that out too while I am there. I’ve only had a couple bad experiences while shopping here, and I guess that isn’t enough to keep me from going seeing how it is so convenient for me. At least I don’t have to go to Wal-mart.
