I didn’t expect this to be in a hotel and it’s apparently been around for a while. It was decent but my steak came out really underdone. It was tasty anyway so I didn’t send it back, but it’s just annoying when you say«medium» and it comes out medium rare. It’s pretty much grilling 101.

Food and drink was pretty good. Service was brutal. Waited like 20 minutes for our server to show up to the table and another 20 for our drink order(bourbon on the rocks)… Pretty easy. Beet salad was amazing. Steak frites was a lumpy strip steak. Probably wouldn’t go back…

This trip was one of the«I’m going to give it a try Groupon» missions. Went by myself and had appetizers and a beer while I waited for to-go food to take to my husband. I tried the SriRacha deviled eggs… very nice! But the other items just fell flat. The shrimp and grits had no Andouille as described on the menu. And, while very tasty, had a very small portion, and also… no andouille… and this is what I really was craving. So, $ 21 was a little high for what I got. The spring greens salad had a very strange and strongly acidic dressing which tasted like it was a vinegar paste with a lot of pepper and other spices, but not poppy seed dressing as on the menu. It was not even slightly sweet which would have been excellently paired with the julienned pears. The highlight seemed to be the sides we got which were the horseradish mashed potatoes and the roasted turnips and Brussel sprouts. The service was good enough. The bartender was cordial. The ambience was just like expected from a hotel bar/restaurant. But I doubt I would go back.

The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything to write home about. The cocktails, while tasty, were actually very weak, and paying $ 12 for a weak cocktail is frustrating. My husband got the steak frites, and the French fries and bacon ketchup were the most impressive thing we tried. His steak was cooked unevenly and while it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t that good either. He had had better steaks at chain franchises. I got the shrimp and grits. It seemed like a very small portion(especially for $ 21), with only 5 shrimp. The grits were grits and lacking in much flavor. The shrimp did have a very good grilled flavor though. I was left feeling unsatisfied. There were a few lulls in service and it wasn’t very busy, so that was disappointing. The most frustrating part was that we justified the price thinking it would be worth it and it was in no way worthy of the $ 110 we paid.

The food was very good. Very nice atmosphere and staff! Would go back to this place. The Restuarant is located inside embassy suites.

Service was very friendly, the food was eatable not ‘bad’ but wouldn’t go back there. Expected so much more from the Embassy Suites since we have stayed there several times before.

The atmosphere here was great. I think we just hit them on a bad day, as they seemed to have been understaffed. Located in the Embassy Suites downtown, I wasn’t sure what I expected from this restaurant. The menu is very promising. I got a burger, I ordered it medium, but it seemed to have been overcooked in places. Someone else got the Chicken and Biscuits, and the biscuits were burned, and hard to eat. Aside from that the fries are ONEPOINT. Some of the best fries I’ve had in Nashville. I’m undecided whether I’ll make a trip back here or not. It wasn’t terrible, but it was outstanding. I think it would be better if they’d been staffed better that day.

The food was mediocre and not awe inspiring for it to be in the hotel. I didn’t like the service and the food was bland. I could’ve gone to McDonald’s and enjoy their burger instead of spending $ 40 for a meal.

Solidly good food, and they were able to seat ten people on a Saturday night on short notice. We were drinking cocktails at Patterson House and getting peckish. Used OpenTable and snagged a quick reservation for the group, walking to the Embassy Suites to eat. It is hard to find given it requires entering the hotel, but it is a really convenient midtown location. Service was good and fast. I had the Drake & Boar, a duck and pork burger that was really tasty. What a winning combo of meats! The fries were good too. I don’t know that I would seek this place out again as a destination, but if I am hungry in midtown and everything else is slammed, this seems like a good option. Not overly pricey either.

Great food but hard to find. Since its in a hotel it may fool you into thinking its hotel food! It’s not at all. The food is local craft with some really good specialties(hot chicken and greens). The local beers are well represented. Staff was very friendly, engaging, and helpful.

We went on Valentine’s Day at a 5:00 reservation after being told they couldn’t fit our party of 4 any other time. We left at 6:15 and only 1⁄3 of the restaurant was occupied. Our first hint that this might not be a great place was that during most of our meal, the entire restaurant was empty. Also, they were cranking the air conditioner despite it being an unseasonable 40 degrees outside. We asked for them to turn the heat up, but there was no change in temperature. The music was awful. Early 90s love ballads on satellite radio. If they were trying to increase their romantic atmosphere for the Valentine holiday, they failed. The food was only ok. I got beer cheese soup and the fork and knife Cesar salad. My two friends got steak, and my fourth friend got the Captain Crunch Chicken. Our food was fine, not excellent. Nothing worth talking about. The service was slow and terrible, especially for this place being nearly empty during our entire stay. Our waiter was boring and lacked knowledge of the food. Bottom line, go somewhere else. This place was not worth it.

I stayed at the hotel on business and ended up eating at this restaurant three times. I never had a problem with the service-we sat at the bar and the bartender was super sweet and helpful. I’m an adventurous eater, but their menu was just weird. I mean it’s cool to have a few signature dishes that are oddball, but the whole dang thing was like Picasso’s Palate and just not good enough for the price, in my opinion. Here’s what I tried: I had some sort of steak salad for my first meal. Salad, green goddess dressing, golden beets, caramelized onions, and peppered steak. Looked great, but the steak was awful. Way too much pepper and a rubbery texture. The rest of the salad made for an interesting combination, but was decent. I stuck to sides on my next visits. The asparagus was good. The French fries were great, but skip the bacon ketchup.

I was a little apprehensive about going to this restaurant based on the previous reviewers. I have family in town and they are staying at the Embassy Suites(where Five Odd Fellows is located), and after peaking inside and looking at the menus we decided to give them a chance. I’m glad we did. This isn’t what a person would think of when it comes to a hotel restaurant. They have obvously cultivated an image and personality with the logo and the look of the space itself. We were seated rather promptly in a cushy booth. My only complaint about the space was the fact that the seats in some of the high tops in the middle of the restaurant were at very different heights, so some of my group seemed like they were in high chairs, and others seemed like they should have been. Service was friendly, the beer list was apt and had a large selection of locals, and the women in the group enjoyed their cocktails. I found them a little sweet, but they seem more geared to the ladies. The food menu was very different from what you see on a lot of other menus in Midtown. It is a welcome change from all the pubs. Duckfat popcorn, duck burger, captain crunch cereal used as breading on chicken, coconut milk in their whipped cream — little things that made their food out of the ordinary in fun ways. Everything was fresh and well prepared, and we left very full(thanks to pie we didn’t need, but got anyway — we had to try that whipped cream, and we were glad we did). I often disregard restaurants that are in hotels because, let’s face it, they aren’t usually the greatest. This place was a pleasant surprise, and I’m sure I’ll be back. They just need to find a way to get an entrance on to the street. Walking through the lobby is a weird thing for people who aren’t staying at the hotel.

My friends and I went last night before going out for girls night. Apparently it use to be a Steakhouse but you couldn’t tell from the Chic décor. The bar had quite a few people sitting at it while the tables near by we’re not so full. There was a large party in the back consuming the whole dinning room so we enjoyed a comfy booth. Our server Jeremy was pleasant and informative although his bow tie he was wearing was the talk of our table. Too funny. Anyways, we shared the fried green tomato salad to start. The salad part of it was delicious with the pimento cheese and peppers. I love the little board it comes on. Tomatoes were also good and crispy. entrees– interesting enough I had the cap’n crunch chicken. Yes I said captain crunch chicken. It came is the cool cast iron bowl with this spicy heavenly jam in the middle of a sweet gravy sauce… Uuummm delicious! Drinks– The beer selection is amazing I’m not sure how many but it seemed endless and a lot of variety. Craft craft and more craft. Cocktails– I had the good life martini this menu was designed with intention to please. Ingredients seemed fresh and my drink was easy drinking. Prices are a little pricey but we’ll worth it. Had to be a server issue with the other reviews because we had a great time and great service. We will be back its a great starting point before hitting midtown bars. Not crowed. It’s our hidden gem for now lol. Need better signs out side it was hard to find… Also wish there was a restroom inside as you have to walk across the hotel to go to the bathroom. At least parking is free valet which you know how hard parking in midtown can be.

Brandon P. got it exactly right. Food was mediocre at best although it looks much better on the menu. Just no flavor. Some folks liked theirs but most of us were not impressed. The service was unbelievably slow. Drinks took forever. Food took forever. The waitress was always gone. She was even a bit ride to some folks at our table. On top of it, they automatically added 20% to our bill for gratuity. Now, I’m not a cheapskate but to me, 20% is for excellent service. This, most assuredly, was NOT excellent service. I feel like I got stolen from. The only real plus was a nice looking beer menu. They did have some good brews but, again, it took 15 minutes every time you ordered one and that was after your last one had been empty for 20 minutes already. Anyways, with all the decent choices coming out here in Nashville lately, I would most assuredly NOT go back to this one. Keep moving on down the street. Frankly, you could get faster service and probably like your food just as much at any of the little dives in the midtown area.

Wow. This place was so bad it forced my lazy butt to join Unilocal to warn others. We were a table of 12 and were the only people there except for a couple of people at the bar. Which should have been a warning sign since it was 7:30 on a Saturday night. The waitress was nice but nonexistent. You would think that the wait staff would have been hovering around us since we were their only customers, instead we constantly sat around with empty glasses. When my gumbo arrived it was lukewarm at best. The waitress brought us our checks without asking if we were ready for them or if we wanted anything else(dessert, drinks). We weren’t a loud or rude group, so that wouldn’t explain the nonexistent service. I don’t think this place will be in business much longer if this is the norm.

Oddfellows opened on August 27, 2014 at The Embassy Suites hotel in downtown Nashville. I often stay at this particular location on business and was excited to see that a new restaurant was replacing the tired Omaha Steaks steak house. Oddfellows did not disappoint. Service was fantastic, and the food was very good. I ordered the Double Buttered Biscuits and Beer Cheese Soup. Both were well prepared and very tasty. The real winners here is the beer menu. Oddfellows specializes in locally brewed beers and the Brother Maynard Belgium is a real standout. Perfection! I will definitely seek out Oddfellows again, when visiting Nashville.
