Elysium Day Spa

I bought a Groupon to this place… I need to STOP buyin Groupons! I was very much looking forward to the mani/​pedi and when i walked in I wasn’t greeted and everyone was just standing around. There were «so busy» that I had to wait about 9 months before i could get an appointment and I heard her on the phone say they were booked 2 months out. The pedicure was TERRIBLE!!! I put my feet in a stainless steel bowl for about 3 minutes. She then dried my feet off and had me lay in a lounge chair. It was SO uncomfortable. She did a horrible job on my feet, and many times it was so painful, she was digging in my nails with some type of hook? There were several times that I just wanted to tell her to quit and I wanted to get up, walk out and cry. It was terrible. She pushed my cuticles back, but never cut them or anything — same with my manicure. It was the most uncomfortable service i have ever received. She never said a word to me either. I would never call this a spa. I get a pedi about every 4 weeks, so i get them often, and this by far was the worst ever. A groupon is intended to strum up business and want you to come back, if anything, i felt i was treated like i had a groupon so i got only a portion of the service that equaled to what i paid. I wouldn’t go back if they offered a $ 10 groupon for a mani pedi and i live 4 blocks away. Just terrible.

I’m torn on how to rate this. As a spa, it’s really just two stars. The décor is not up to par with a lot of spas these days. You don’t walk in and feel like you’ve gone more than two doors down from Target. I just had a mani/​pedi, so maybe the side that has the massages is different. I wouldn’t say the other staff exuded professionalism, but they were generally friendly.
All that being said, if I were just to rate the actual service I received, I would give 4 stars (so I went with the avg). Vicki did my mani/​pedi and not only did she do a great job, but she was a joy to spend an hour or so of my life with. I’ll probably go back just because of her.

If you want to be pampered, this is the place to go!
