I felt compelled to write a review after seeing some of the more negative reviews on here… I have always had a great experience at this cleaner! The people who work there are very friendly and the service is excellent. The woman who works there(embarrassed to say I don’t know her name) even recognizes my car and has my clothes ready for me when I pull up. I have had suits, shirts, skirts, and dresses dry cleaned here and have had a suit and dress altered(both hemmed and taken in). All were perfect! There seems to be a stream of customers coming and going from here all the time. Incredibly convenient location!

I brought my wedding dress here to get preserved. She did a great job! Friendly neighborhood cleaner. She is open at great hours very early for me to drop off cloths before work.

I had an awful experience — on top of the usual motif where it seems like customers are more of an annoyance than a benefit — back in late August. My choice words back then were reported by some pansy here on Unilocal, but I will now re-tell this horrid tale in a very clean(and detailed) way.(You’re welcome, Elegance, now the world can know more about how atrocious you are…) Rest assured, all the low ratings on this business are 100% accurate and the norm. The high ratings are the exception to the rule. I came to pick up a jacket that was in for cleaning, parked in front of this shop, and proceeded to open both Unilocal and Swarm to check in. While I am in the middle of that, the lady running the place come out of the shop doors, flustered, telling me «Sir! This is dry cleaner parking only!» This rendered a stare from me. You know… the blank stare where you can barely believe someone is being as stupid as they are, right in front of you. Yeah, that stare. When I can finally muster words in this unbelievable scenario, I tell her«Yes. I know. That’s why I am parking here. To do business with you, and pick up my jacket. I will come in when I am good and ready.» Her stupidity immediately caused me to post a heated one-star review. Bad move on her part to verbally assault a customer WHILE they have the review app OPEN. Welcome to 2015, lady. Congrats. But. WTF?! WHODOESTHAT??? What kind of proprietor comes out confrontational to her customers or potential customers like that? I understand they must have a big issue fending off parkers who are not their customers, but NEVER… NEVEREVER… assume the person you’re about to piss off is not already your customer until you ask. She could have come out and asked, urgently, «Sir, are you picking up or dropping off?» or «Are you picking up? I can take your ticket and get things started inside for you.» Plenty of good ways to foster something positive. Just no excuse for what she did. NONE. Turns out I was a day early, to her uppity delight. I shared a few words with her about how she treated me, showed her that she had prompted a one-star rating, and asked that she get my jacket and just cancel my order, but she had scurried off to the back and proceeded to ignore me the best she could. So, I just left to return in a couple of days. That morning, I decided I would attempt to be kind and calm with the raving harpy when I picked up my jacket. Here is how that went: (hand ticket, jacket is received, and I inspect to see all is well, in case she’s taken this to a next-level and damaged my property) Lady: $ 9.29 is your total. Me:(hand her $ 10)(very quiet and calm tone, another customer has entered to bear witness to the chance she was about to be given to be a non-bitch) I want you to know that I had planned to come give you just one dollar and walk out with my jacket, after how you treated me the other day. Lady:(mumbles) … Whatever sir. Me:(volume way up now) NO. ITISNOTWHATEVER. You are evidently notorious for treating your customers that way. When you come yell at me about parking to do business with you, that’s unacceptable, and you’re lucky you still have any customers with that attitude! I looked you up, and you this all the time! Random Dude: Sir, what’s the problem? Me: Do you own this place? Dude: Yes. And why are you yelling at my wife? Me: Do you want to do what she CANNOT do and have a calm conversation about it? Dude: Certainly. We attempt to talk through what happened, and he apologizes, and she interrupts«WHYYOU ‘POLOGIZE??? HE— blahblahblah…»(she’s gone full-on John Pinnette at this point) Dude:(annoyed glance at wife and now-wide-eyed customer) Let’s go outside where it’s quiet.(HA.) We talk for a bit about how I understand the struggle for the parking and how she could have rushed me with productive and urgent customer service, etc. He apologizes again, and I tell him that I appreciate it, but likely won’t be back. He seemed to totally understand why I was angry and indicated he struggles with her as well. I almost feel sorry for the dude. But I won’t be back. As I backed the car out to the sounds of them screaming at each other inside, my only thought was… «whatever.»

I rarely have any dry cleaning needs. When I do need to dry clean a garment or have some minor sewing done Elegance Dry Cleaning is the most convenient establishment for me. This week’s visit I needed a repair to a couple seams done on a couple pair of sweatpants. The lady who worked at the counter wasn’t overly bubbly or chatty but she was very professional and plenty friendly enough for me. I brought in the two pair of gym sweatpants that had separations in a seam and they only charged $ 6.00 to repair each and they did a great job. I’ve never had any problems taking my business here and I’ll definitely return when the need arises.

I have tried this place many times over the years. It is blocks from my house and so convenient for me. But every time I use this drycleaner I am horrified. The service is absolutely insulting. They are so rude, and my clothes don’t get clean. I just picked up a dress on my way out of town and it stinks! I paid. $ 25 to have this dress cleaned and it’s worse than when I took it in. Very disappointed.

Long wait times. A 48 hour turnaround on 2 shirts and a pair of pants is considered a rush order. Ive waited 3+ days for shirts. They told me that they didn’t have time to clean the pants but charged me for the pants anyway. Really rude to boot. I paid 6 bucks for pants they admittedly didn’t clean only to have them tell me to bring them back and pay for them again if I wanted them cleaned. You’re better off going further away even if you live in sylvan park as I do. I’ve given them a number of chances but I can’t really justify that any longer.

Wow, horrible customer service. I was a bit indecisive about the price and I told her I needed a minute to think about it(in which she was completely annoyed) and while I ran in next door, they used shipping tape to tape a thing to my car saying«cleaner parking only.» When I returned and brought my dress in she seemed annoyed to have me as a customer. When I needed the dress a day earlier than they could provide it I told her I couldn’t do it she rolled we eyes at me and let a large exhale out. Never doing business here. Plenty of other people that would gladly take my business!

Man oh man. The reviews here are scary! I don’t know if they’ve had some employee changes or what, but I had a perfectly nice experience at Elegance Cleaners. I had 2 skirts and 2 shirts that needed to be dry cleaned, and was able to drop them off on Friday and they were ready on Tuesday. I was quite scared to drop off my clothes after reading the horrible things, but I had no issues. I haven’t gone to a dry cleaner in a LONG time(procrastination is my friend) but the total was $ 31.00 for my items. I think that is slightly high but then again, it’s been a long time and maybe the prices have gone up. I had a good experience and appreciate the convenience and work that they provided to me!

I concur with the other reviewers — the owner/manager is OK to deal with as long as you can stay within the confines of giving your phone number, dropping off and paying. Although the big sign advertises«Alterations» she refuses to do anything but hemming. The prices are very high, IMO, and seem to change overnight. Today I asked for a pricelist and she told me it was all on the computer. So I asked if it was on the website. She said no. I asked if there was any way to know what I would pay, she said no. The items I dropped off today(Thursday) will be back«Tuesday or Wednesday». After four years of trying to support this Sylvan Park business I’m taking my business elsewhere.

I just dropped some stuff off today and the lady there was not rude at all. Perhaps they have had a staff change since the last reviews. The quoted turn around time was a bit slow, dropped off Wed afternoon and quoted Saturday for pickup. I simply, politely, asked if I could have it Friday and she said Friday afternoon, no problem. Will update with how the stuff looks on Friday…

Elegance Cleaners? HA! There is nothing elegant about this place. I live within walking distance of Elegance Cleaners and am in the area all the time, but I would much rather drive 15 minutes to a place I can actually trust. Not only is the staff incredibly rude(she has literally chased non-patrons off her property for parking in her lot – even chased them home!), but they are also unprofessional. I once brought in a bridesmaids dress to get altered, and the seamstres didn’t even ask me to try it on! I suppose she relies on guess-work that actual craftsmanship… Bottom line: STEERCLEAR!

I needed a shirt dry cleaned in a serious way, and I remembered having walked by Elegance Cleaners while meandering around Sylvan Park. I came in with shirt in a hand and questions, and honestly had a not so great experience. It cost me $ 4.85 to dry clean the shirt, which I thought was more than a little steep and was treated rather rudely. Not being able to find the cost per piece anywhere, I wanted to inquire about a few other things that I needed dry cleaned. The person who attended to me was impolite but eventually spatted of some prices at random. However, her lack of customer service and general discourteous manner pretty much ensured that I would not be revisiting Elegance Cleaners.
