The Temple has a gorgeous building, but the people were NOT welcoming. Their membership director was handing out prayer books and greeted me and my fiancé with an over-the-top pitch about membership. It was very Classical Reform in that no one was wearing kippot or tallit. Few people sang, some moved their lips with lyrics. It seemed to be a very passive congregation. The cantor, who had a wonderful voice, was not very inviting and it often felt more like a performance. I never thought this would be a complaint of mine, but I felt there was too much English. They read the translations to almost everything aloud, including the Sh’ma, which seemed unnecessary. They did not read names for those in the community in need of healing and they skipped Aleinu. Overall, not a great experience. I’ve been to worse, but definitely won’t be repeating this experience.
