Was in there for 15 minutes, no other customers around. Employees available and no one so much as said hi. This is Nashville — you better get with the program, because others know how to provide customer service. Left the store and spent $ 400 elsewhere(Trigreen in Mt. Juliet).

Probably the rudest service advisor I have ever met and extremely all around bad experience. I am sad that I actually made a purchase there, never again. Shameful experience.

This actually an update to an earlier review. Chilton Turf Center continues to be very poorly managed. The person who runs the day to day operations at the Nashville location frankly has no idea about the concept of Customer Service. She continues to act as though she is doing her«customers» a favor by allow them to do business with them. The store policies she has enacted are, at best, favorable ONLY to Clinton’s; NOT to the customers. She even has put out a sign that says that«Clintons has the right to deny service to anyone „FORANYREASON.“ Apparently, this means ANYONE who disagrees with HER policies. On the positive side, the techs in the Service department are quite good. Their pick-up-delivery» guy is also excellent — although he is subject to the dictates of the fore-mentioned day to day manager. If Chilton’s had more competition, I truly believe they would be out of business in 6-months with these policies. BUYERBEWARE — SOMEBRANDSTHEYSELLAREONLYSERVICEDBYCHILTON’S BYOEMCONTRACT. Consider buying brands which are serviced by MANY other dealers so you are NOT compelled to deal with Chilton Turf Center in Nashville.

I have very mixed feelings about Chiltons. Their service guys are top notch and won’t steer you wrong. Good and advice and a willingness to go over the top make their service dept great. Be prepared to wait days however for their 3rd party delivery guy to pick-up or deliver. And no matter how many times you ask, he will not call ahead. It drives me crazy because they charge you $ 75 bucks for that service. Unfortunately the sales guys at the front counter will screw you over in a heartbeat. My third experience with them was interesting to say the least. First they promised a price on a mower and then waffled over it several times. So I bought the mower somewhere else. I wanted to give them another chance and went buy for a mulch kit. The manufacturer price for the complete kit was $ 74. Chilton offered to sell me the same kit for $ 96. That was a bit of a shock, especially when the guy told me he’d save me money on shipping if I bought it from him. What a crock! A different dealer told me I didn’t need the entire kit and sold me the parts I needed for $ 16. You see, it turns out I didn’t need the whole kit. It includes a whole new set of blades that a new mower didn’t need, only the $ 16 mulch plug plus the $ 1 nut & bolt you need to install it.

I kind of didn’t know what to expect after reading some reviews online about this place. But I needed a couple of parts for my Honda lawnmower, including a cable and the cord you pull to start it, and looked like they carried what I needed. I wrote down my model number and the parts guy knew exactly what I needed. I always expcect to pay high prices for replacement parts whether for my cars or my mower, and they didn’t disappoint me there. However, it sure beats running all over town trying to save a dollar or waiting by my mailbox for some online outfit to ship parts to me while my grass gets a foot tall. Anyway, the parts were quick and right the first time. I also enjoyed looking at all the new mowers, blowers, etc. before I went home and got back to my yard.

Chilton Turf Center is one of the better mower and lawn care shops I’ve come across. I lost my old roommate’s mower gas cap a couple of weeks ago, and I headed to Chilton to see if I might be able to find a replacement. The store itself is huge and has countless mowers, chainsaws and leaf blowers of various brands. Apparently, Chilton mainly carries Husqvarna, Snapper, Scagg, Briggs & Stratton, Stihl and Gravely items, but their inventory appears pretty massive. When I asked the helpful gentlemen at the front desk about my gas cap, they quickly retrieved a catalog that listed roughly ten possible caps. I clearly went in without enough information, but the guys were still patient and helpful. Chilton’s policy is «if we sell it, we service it,» and they’re known for their skillful technicians and endless inventory of parts. From people with fancy industrial riding mowers who landscape for a living to simple suckers who lost gas caps on their friend’s mower, the folks at Chilton seem happy to help anyone who needs it, and they’re as skillful and knowledgeable as you’d expect.
