1st time for everything. And this is the last. Pricey, less portioned meat with too much BBQ sauce. My wife ordered Philly cheese steak meal and I ordered the Cheesy BBQ chicken sub meal. The BBQ sauce literally devoured everything except the bread. My sweet tea turned out to be diabetic sweet tea (Freakn’ Sweet)! Blah!

Charlie’s Grilled Subs offers a variety sub sandwiches, so many that I couldn’t really say which one is the best but I did enjoy the California sub! Out of all the places in the mall to eat this one stays busy the most from the few times I have ventured here and there is good reason for that and its the FOOD! Only thing that kept it from getting all 5 stars is the organization,. If I was in charge I would set a particular site/​location for order pick up instead of just yelling out a name and reaching over a coworker from behind the desk. kinda tacky but hey whatever works.
Will be back for my California sub!

I’ve had legit cheesesteaks and hoagies in Philly, so I know one when I see it, and I have to give props both to Charley’s for making a really really darn good sun, and to Jerry for bring the first to try it out.
I was with my boys in the Opry Mill’s Mall, and I’d had my eye on the place for a couple months. So I got a small sandwich and got it the right way, with the steak, cheese, mushrooms, onions, and bell peppers, and they did a great job getting it together. it was the real deal and it took me back a decade when I was last in Philly.
Maybe a little pricey, but it’s the mall, so what can you do?

The real name of this place is Charley’s Grilled Subs so it may be hard to find on Unilocal.No matter what you call it, the line in the Opry Mills Mall food court for the cheesesteak and other grilled sandwiches is a testament to Charley’s popularity and quality.
I got the regular Philly Cheesesteak (Steak, Grilled Onions, and Provolone Cheese) with everything. The sandwich is prepared right in front of you as you work your way down the line from the register to the pick-​up counter. I’m not sure who invented the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich, but mad props to that man because there is little in life that satisfies as much as a hot oooey-​gooey steak sandwich on fresh bread.

4.5 stars. Imagine a sub so stuffed with cheese, grilled veggies, mushrooms, onions and deliciousness, that you need a fork to scoop it back into the sub after it flows out. Now you have a mental image of how awesome this place is.
The cheese fries looked a bit heavy on fat and calories so I opted for regular fries instead.
Great place to grab a meal. I would have given it 5 stars if they had a whole wheat sub.
