Center for Advanced Dentistry – Kent E. White, DDS

I did not go through with dentistry work here because I was not impressed with their evaluation. I had to pay $ 150 to sit with the assistant giving me her advise. When Dr. White came in, she insisted on rudely rushing him through to «keep him on schedule» so several times he opened his mouth to tell us something and she would cut him off. To be honest, it did not impress me that he let her talk to him like that, but more importantly, we couldn’t gain confidence in his opinion and protocol. I planned on staying with him as holistic care is very important to me but my husband wanted me to get a second opinion as my son needed a lot of work ($ 17,000 worth!). The assistant immediately called me back to tell me what a mistake I was making as Dr. White «was the best educated dentist in Nashville» and that she would cancel my future appointments (which were almost 2 months away) because I wasn’t committing to them. My second evaluation was the same day but she insisted on threatening me. I’m not really sure the purpose of her phone call but it made me very apprehensive. I was on my way to Dr. Foley’s, in Franklin, who was able to squeeze us in for an immediate evaluation. They spent 3 hours with my son teaching him all about how to stop the cavities and offering a much less invasive approach to his dental care and only charged me $ 50, which included several more xrays, and several full sized bottles of rinse and probiotics to get him started on right away, even though I had not committed to them. I left feeling like they truly cared about my sons health and learned so much about cavity prevention from a holistic approach. I realize the assistant can help a lot in taking care of questions and nitty gritties — but time with the doctor is vital to obtaining a trusting relationship. I’ll post my opinion on Dr. Foley’s Unilocal when the work is finished!

I’ve had a lot of dentists over the years, all over the country, but CAD is special. Somehow, they manage to run an operation that is both classy and fun. Yes. A dentist. Fun.
What really sets CAD apart, though, is the holistic, mercury-​free approach to dental care. There are a couple holistic dentists in Franklin, but CAD is the only one I found in Nashville. And I’m so glad I did.
The whole CAD crew — Dr. White, Paige, Shawna, Melissa, and Gretchen are all wonderful to deal with; the knowledge and treatments are first-​class; and the prices are about average. I highly recommend you give them a try.
