Four of us had lunch there after reading write positive write-ups. Food was very discouraging… fried fish was tough, portobello sandwich was a joke, mushrooms tasted like out of a can. Service was adequate but was misinformed what was popular to eat. The only positive about dining there was the Porter Beer, best ever.

Haven’t been to Blackstone in years since we moved outside of town but having to come downtown more regularly of late we’ve come to dinner twice recently and had great experiences. Easy parking(increasingly a positive in Nashville) the waits are non-existent(when we’ve stopped, Friday and Sunday evening), service was excellent, food was excellent. Get the pretzels and the cheese for your app.

Nachos were very good, and the buffalo wings were amazing! Everyone in the table loved them! Personally my favorite beer was the blackforest one! Exactly as it was described; looks dark, tastes light

Came in and ate during the 2016 Nashville blizzard and had a good meal. The half rack of ribs had the right amount of zest to go along with the sweet. I would definitely come back!

First time here and enjoyed the St. Charles Porter and the Texas burger with potato salad. Good burger paired with an outstanding beer. Nice sized potions. The fish fry looks good too. Tonight, I’m having the grilled salmon. Several options choices. If you’re in the area definitely worth checking out. Beer samplers!

When we entered, it was not exactly what we were expecting. When we saw«brewery» was in the name, we expected to see more of a bar area and a larger selection of craft beers. Although, there was an area to see where the beer was made and an overall brewery vibe. We started off with the Nut Brown Ale and the St. Charles Porter. I could not tell the difference in the two but that may just be due to my lack of beer expertise. They were both good though! I took the waitress’ suggestion and ordered the artichoke chicken pasta. It was very good but kind of small and nothing special for its price of $ 15.50. My friend, on the other hand, got the huge mushroom burger with an equally huge order of sweet potato fries for a much more reasonable price of $ 9.75. I didn’t taste the burger but my friend scarfed the entire thing down quickly so I imagine he liked it. The sweet potato fries were great, as well! Our waitress was very friendly and even ended up not charging us for our drinks because she said she liked talking to us. It is a fun place and wouldn’t mind going back again!

Good service, generous portions and consistent atmosphere for a brew house. The tour is interesting but not over the top. Beer is good but nothing to write home about. Needs more«character» which was something the brew master stressed but the beer didn’t deliver. Recommend the IPA and the steak. Stout, the typical pairing, was water and not very good. Otherwise a decent choice for an evening with a client or friends.

I hate to do this as we are regulars and have been for years. This place is really going downhill with the quality of their food. Previously, Balckstone has had a few really good«go to» staples that were always good. One of them was the steak and biscuits. I always bragged on this dish as the meat was filet, and it was always fresh and well cooked with lots of flavor. Now it seems the kitchen and/or management just doesn’t care about quality. The steak and biscuits I just received was tough and tasteless. It felt like they just reheated a filet that was sent back the night before for being over cooked. I know that Blackstone is trying to become an «event» place, and they are renting out the restaurant on a regular basis, but their food is suffering because of this. If this keeps up, it will be like the rubber chicken you get from most event venues. I will say that the service we received at the bar was excellent, as usual. My husband loves their beer, and that hasn’t changed. They just need to get back people who care about the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen.

Went to Blackstone for my cousins college graduation dinner. I was in charge of setting up the party for 35 people. Kate was our server and she was very helpful and helped me decorate the tables, she was very friendly very attentive. I had the shrimp and grits and it was fantastic ! I will definitely be back!

I would call this place very average. We went on a Friday night around 7 and didn’t have to wait for a table. The restaurant was also hosting a 50-person group, so the wait for food was understandably a bit longer than usual. Our server was nice and pretty attentive. The beer list was pretty mediocre as well. They had 5 – 6 of their own beers — I had the nut brown ale. It was full bodied and easy to drink. I thought it was a little over priced given the quality. $ 5 per pint. The food was pretty average. I had the BBQ burger and my girlfriend had the Caesar salad with chicken. To my surprise, it the burger was substituted for a chicken patty — reason unknown. It was a large burger on a large and doughy roll. I thought this was to the detriment of the burger because it was large and threw the whole thing out of proportion. The best part were the sweet potato waffle fries. I’ve never seen these before but they had potential to be delicious. Unfortunately, they were not very warm when my food arrived. The chicken Caesar was very overpriced and swimming in dressing to the point that it couldn’t be eaten. The added chicken was generic white meat and a whopping $ 4. Order this at your own risk.

Food: got the job done. I started with the buffalo wings and finished with the grilled chicken sandwich. The wings had nice heat, but not too hot. About average crispness. I tend to prefer very crispy though. The chicken sandwich was served with bbq sauce and a spicy mustard. A little different for me, but a good change of pace. Service: my server was very polite, but could have been a little more attentive. Not much else to say here. Atmosphere: perfect for me. Kind of rustic. Open. Clean. Traditional brew pub feel. Misc: there isn’t a whole lot I can write about this place as I got in and out for a quick lunch. It’s a comfortable place and if I stay at the Nashville Loews again, I’ll go back.

In April of this year I scheduled a dinner for 30 reunion classmates from Vanderbilt on Friday night of our reunion in October. Todd had absolutely no problem setting aside a private room. As we got closer, Todd followed up to determine exactly how we wanted our dinner to go just make sure. Once we arrived, everything went precisely as planned — drinks then dinner. Everyone at the restaurant was professional and enthusiastic. Given our large group, the wait staff didn’t break a sweat — pretty amazing actually. Kudos to Cassie. The food was fantastic. Though it may seem a bit over the top, I was able to relax and enjoy seeing everyone — some of whom I hadn’t seen in over thirty years. This made it very special. Thanks to Todd and his team. Jeff

Happy birthday to me! I like trying local brewers, so this seemed like a good opportunity. Blackstone’s American Pale Ale was acceptable, but nothing special. I switched to wine with my dinner, and was much happier with it. The ribs, however were very good. They were very tender, but not very smokey. The sauce was spicier than most barbecue sauces, and I really liked it. And the yeast rolls were awesome! Charles was our waiter, and he did an outstanding job of taking care of us.

Not great. Definitely suffers from chain restaurantitis. The server was only able to bring one taster per person without charging. The food was just OK. We could have done much better

Your one stop shop for over priced food, warm beer, and sadness. If you want a place to come on a Friday or Saturday(or any day of the week) that isn’t busy ATALL, then come here. I think I’d like this place better if it had a little variety from month to month. Or even any change for the past 20 years would be nice. Subpar food and awful warm overpriced beer. I’ve been coming here for years, not sure why. But I’m disappointed 98% of the time and I keep hoping things may actually get better. I love supporting local as much as possible, but I just can’t support Blackstone restaurant anymore.

I was quite disappointed when visiting Blackstone. We came in on a Saturday as a party of three around 2pm and sat at the large bar. There was only one bar tender working, but the bar was full without 10 – 12 people. She wasn’t the friendliest of waitress and not very attentive to when the drinks were out or what we wanted next. We also ordered the beer pretzels without the cheese sauce(served the cheese sauce). They were ok, or less than ok. Pretzels should have a golden brown color — these were light, as they weren’t baked long enough. Also, they were covered in butter that tasted more like vegetable oil which was quite unappetizing. Their beer selection isnt very large which is ok but we found we only liked two of the beers — the brown ale and the APA. Otherwise the beers weren’t very good. Lack luster service, bad food and waiting to order a pint made for a bad experience. There are a lot better places to get food or beer in town.

Great place with a varied menu that is sure to please a lot of people. Vegetarians, choose from: nachos, roasted red pepper soup, a black bean burger, pizza, mushroom stroganoff, brewhouse mac and cheese, and sides! What makes this place unique is that they brew craft beers on-site. Try from: Chaser Pale, the Nut Brown Ale, the porter, the American Pale Ale, a dubbel, and a red ale. Get a sampler of all six(5 oz. each) for only $ 7.50. You can also get growlers. Service was great! Convenient location!

On a trip here, we went here for dinner(both because of its reputation and we like their beer). I know from previous experience that the oatmeal stout is amazing. Sadly, earlier that day I had been prescribed an antibiotic and couldn’t drink really. I ordered the stout, took a few sips and gave it to my boyfriend. It was painful to give it away. The food though! I had the bistro steak salad. Although the food is pricey, it is so worth it. The waiter suggested a side of blue cheese dressing to go with my salad and it really complimented the salad. I’m a frugal person but I’d go back and order one of these again in a heartbeat. My boyfriend had the buffalo burger and proclaimed that it was awesome. He’s picky so that’s saying something. He’s never said my cooking was awesome… and Ive been told by others I’m a decent cook. Finally, the service was great. Our waiter was attentive and our drinks were never empty(I drank 6 glasses of water because of my medicine).

Great place to go for drinks. We were in between destinations and had some time so Blackstone’s it was. The bar is large and accommodating. The bar was large enough where I could have enjoyed my meal there if I had ordered. I ordered the sampler which varies throughout the year depending on what seasonal ales were being brewed. Our bartender gave us excellent descriptions of the beers and ales we had. He included a lot of information that wasn’t already written on the printed template that was used as a place-mat. I enjoyed all of the brews although my personal preference was the St. Charles Porter. I felt like I could relax and chill for as long as I wanted. The staff was friendly and also efficient. I will have to make another trip to eat here!

A bit different than the other breweries I went to while in Nashville, Blackstone is more a restaurant with a brewery inside, as opposed to a straight brewery. The sad part about Blackstone for me is there is the entire restaurant/brewery is a bit dark. Let there be more light! The happy part about Blackstone is just about everything else. Honestly, I thought their beers were pretty hit or miss, but I enjoyed myself so much at Blackstone I can almost entirely look over that part of it. My friend and I sat at the bar for a couple of hours and had a great time. The bartender was awesome! He entertained our many questions and chatted a bit. Sundays at Blackstone are the money day to visit because it’s BOGO pint day! Yep, 2 pints for $ 4.50. Less than a 5 spot — Amazing! Plus any day of the week you can get a sampler, and you best believe that’s what I did. I’m the brewery sampler queen — or princess — or just super casual normal everyday drinker. That being said, the sampler has 6 beers and is just $ 7.50. What a steal! As mentioned, I found the drinks to be pretty hit or miss but the standouts for me were the Nut Brown Ale & the St. Charles Porter. I liked those two so much that I got a pint of each after killing my sampler. I also tried the Chaser Pale, American Pale Ale, Red Dawn and Golden Ale. I needed a little somethin’ somethin’ to go with all that liquid pleasure so my friend and I split their pretzels for $ 4.75. It wasn’t an amazing appetizer but it was good enough to go with our beers and give us some substance. I’d recommend trying a different food item. Overall, loved Blackstone because of the awesome service and fantastic beer prices. Wowza! My friend and I went here on a whim and I’m so glad we did.
