Verde Organically Gorgeous Salon

Alisha is amazing! She was able to book both my sister and I for a girls day and made it as fun as possible. Going to see Alisha is just like having your best friend do your hair while you both laugh and share stories. I will never go to anyone else or any other place. Thank you Verde a.k.a. TERRA!!! :)

Tonight was my very first time at Verde (they just changed the name to Terra). I went here because I saw all of the awesome Unilocal reviews! I called and made an appointment with Alisha, i love how they are open so late, its great for me because i work until 5. I have super curly long hair and i hadn’t gotten my hair cut in about a year. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome and Alisha walked me into the salon, she asked what I wanted to get done. I told her that I really wanted to get rid of all the dead ends but keep it as long as possible and get and angle in the front. She then showed me what her thoughts were and how she interpreted what I asked for and she was spot on! I love the products she used in my hair it smells great! She cut, blew dry, and flat ironed my thick curls in only and hour and 15 mins! (Thats pretty quick for hair like mine) she was super friendly and we had a great conversation, I can tell she really loves her work and is GREAT at what she does. I already made my next appointment! Can’t wait to go back :) thanks Alisha my hair is beautiful!

This was my third time at Verde and I have been very pleased with my services each time. The salon is clean and modern with a very friendly staff.
I saw Heather for a cut — she does a good job of walking the fine line between listening to what I want and telling me what I need! I have very fine hair but it is fairly thick and wavy, so for some reason most hairstylists tend to think my hair needs to be «tamed» (i.e flattened, weighed down with a ton of greasy products, and hot ironed to my scalp like a helmet). I always state that I want body, volume and texture, and usually mention how I blow dry my own hair upside down to get extra volume. No one ever listens to this — but Heather knew, and without me reciting my usual speech, she told me she would recut my layers to give extra movement, and most importantly style it with some volume.
She did a great job on both the cut and the style, made my hair feel 100% healthier without taking off too much length. It was one of the rare haircuts I’ve had where I felt comfortable going out immediately after the cut without first restyling my own hair! I will definitely be back for my next cut.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Alisha which, based on our conversation following the mishap with my hair, feels like more went wrong than just a simple misunderstanding about what I wanted done.
I booked an appointment for balayage and had a consultation a few days prior where we discussed options and she was able to see my hair. When I arrived at the salon for my appointment, I showed her a picture of a model and told his that this was the color scheme that I wanted. To make a very long story short, after 2.5 hours of coloring my hair, there was no color showing in the back of my hair at all (with too much blonde in my bangs), and I was charged $ 110, the price of a full foil (she said that because I have a lot of hair, it was actually a partial foil with 2 remixes). I was also charged $ 50 for a «Women’s Shape and Style» when she barely trimmed my hair and did not style it (she blow dried it into a wild, curliness after I’d specifically told her I wanted beachy waves), but she did end up refunding me for the «cut.»
When I returned home, I had a chance to really look at my hair. I had to straighten out the wild curls myself to really see what was going on, and it looked like I hadn’t even had it highlighted in the back at all. I emailed back and forth with both the receptionist and Alisha herself (who is also the owner), explaining the situation with pictures comparing what I asked for vs. what she actually did and charged me for, and she insisted that it was a misunderstanding, and said that based on the picture (which is of the front of a model), there would be no color in the back because there is no blonde on the model’s shoulder (there actually is a hint of blonde on her shoulder, which I pointed out in the picture I emailed back to her, but she had no comment). She did offer to have me come in and have it fixed, but I live 2 hours away, making it a 4 hour round-​trip, in addition to the appointment time, which I didn’t have time for, given that I would have had to miss either work or class.
I also asked her, if she truly misunderstood and thought I didn’t want color in the back, why was she foiling the back for 2 hours, but only on the inner layers of my hair so no highlighting shows at all, both when I wear it down or up? She then told me that she actually didn’t charge me for the back, that she’s just «sliced a few in» for free, however, that’s not true, because that would mean that she put a full foil’s worth of product just in my bangs and front only, which she didn’t (and couldn’t possibly) do. I don’t know if she just ran out of time and couldn’t finish foiling the top layer, or if she did extra where you can’t see it to increase the price of my highlighting.
In my last email to her after she refused my request for a refund on the foiling, I asked her if she can honesty look at the picture of my hair and tell me if that it’s a full foil’s worth of dye. I also pointed out that she hadn’t answered my questions from my other emails either, and asked if she had actually read them (because she wasn’t addressing any of my concerns). I asked her to reconsider her decision to not refund me anything for the foiling. She never replied.
In an earlier email, she did admit to underestimating the time it would take to do my hair (despite having seen it in person before the appointment). But I feel that rather than taking the extra time to do it right (or charge me less for not finishing it, which would have still been less than ideal), she rushed through it, didn’t finish foiling the top layer of my hair, and used my mention of beachy waves as an excuse to not blow dry it straight and instead blow dried it curly to save time.
I’m extremely disappointed by all of this, both by the time and money I put in to having my hair highlighted, only to have my hair look like nothing was done at all, and by the fact that I don’t feel like she was actually listening to my point of view/​taking my questions into account and just stopped responding while I was trying to resolve this with her.

Had an appointment with Alisha today. Initially, was simply excited to get my hair done by an organic salon, but walked out utterly impressed with Alisha’s knowledge and skill. She’s clearly passionate about her craft and was more than happy to work with my «just play with and make it look good» instructions regarding the hi-​lites. I have very challenging hair and she made it look amazing! Had a fabulous conversation in a gorgeous setting and walked out with a new friend and ready to take on the world! Can’t wait to go back in 6 weeks!

Had the best experience working with Alisha! She knew exactly what to do to give me the look that I was going for and the end result was perfect! I felt so welcomed and pampered and I can’t wait to go back again! I would recommend this salon to anyone and everyone.

Alisha is awesome! She listened to what I wanted then gave me her professional opinion. I used to be naturally blonde but as I got older my hair got darker. I’ve been trying to keep it the same shade of light blonde all of these years and now I realize that wasn’t the best plan for me. Alisha explained everything in detail to me. She also made some suggestions and I trusted her judgement and experience. Soooo glad I did! My hair is better than I ever thought it could be! I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. Alisha also walked me through how I can style it at home so it literally looks great everyday! I’m so grateful for Alisha’s knowledge, patience and experience. She made me love my hair again! Go to Verde organically gorgeous salon and you’ll be happy. The other stylist Heather and receptionist Shelly were super nice as well. Over all an awesome experience. I recommend it to everyone.

Heather and her team did my wedding hair. They traveled to Waltham, MA, set up in my hotel, and worked their magic on me and my bridal party. My hair was magnificent and exactly what I wanted. I’m so happy I found such an awesome hair stylist who is easily able to translate conceptual ideas into hair dreams come true!

Alisha did an amazing job! My hair was damaged from years of dying my dark brown hair to platinum blonde. She completely transformed it. It finally looks shiny and healthy!
Another staff member, Heather, even offered to run out to pay the empty meter for a client’s car while she was getting her hair done!

Amazing transformation today done by Alisha! I went in with a horrible at home dye job, that left me with brown, orange and brassy blonde hair with a hint of green. Yes green! After Alisha worked her magic I left with a chocolate brown color with caramel highlights and most importantly my hair felt 80% healthier! With the advice/​tips she gave me and some shine mist with vitamin D I bought while I was there my hair should be back to 100% healthy in no time! Thanks Alisha! I’ll be back for sure!

Heather’s good (had a better experience the last time I saw her!), Alisha’s also good. Just had a cut+color with Alisha today, she really listened to what I wanted, and delivered. Prices are reasonable ($ 135+$ 50 in products), and no harsh chemicals (no bleach or harsh chemical smell!). Purchased some yummy hair products that are organic and infused with aloe (Loma Organics).
The salon itself is quaint, exposed brick walls, distressed wood floors– an earthy vibe. Very relaxed and an easy going feel. In love!

Heather is a hair goddess. Period. End of story. I always look so phenomenal coming out of this salon and until I get my next color and cut. She does a fabulous job. I went to Salon Verde, and Heather, after having gone to the same hair stylist for many years. My old stylist just kept getting worse and worse and just wasn’t doing what I had asked for. The final straw was when she gave me highlights that came out orange (I had asked for blonde). Heather fixed it and then some. I looked amazing coming out of there! The products she chooses are wonderfully organic – they smell amazing, and they are good for your body, hair, and the environment.
I finally got my blonde highlights and they look so natural. She truly is an expert at what she does. The price is VERY reasonable, too. Not overly cheap, but not insanely expensive, either. I like to pay a little more when I’m getting such high quality service and products.
I truly cannot recommend Salon Verde – and Heather – enough! Just go there!

This place appears to have closed. I arrived for my appointment today to find a bright yellow eviction notice on the front door. I still received a confirmation email yesterday for my appointment, but that must be automated. What a disappointment, I loved this salon!
