Fancy Nancy’s Salon

I live in the Boston area but needed a haircut «urgently» on a Sunday and we were headed to NH for the day anyway… found Fancy Nancy’s on Unilocal and figured I’d give the place a shot. Nancy herself cut my hair, and I LOVE it. I asked for a low-​maintenance, professional-​looking cut and that’s exactly what I got. Nancy even showed me how to style it without blow-​drying, and made sure it’s just long enough that I can still put it up in a ponytail.
So, long story short, I will be making the trip up from Boston the next time I need to get my hair cut.

Have been living in Tyngsboro a few years now and found Ashley (tall blonde one-​there are a few Ashley’s) about one year ago. She is my go to hairdresser now. She takes her time, is very personable and professional and does an amazing job every time! Everyone at Fancy Nancys is always so pleasant and welcoming! I just went to Sunitha for a facial and eyebrow threading and had a wonderful experience! Would definitely recommend going here for your hair/​skin needs! Will be going back to these lovely ladies frequently! :)

I went to Fancy Nancy’s and saw Ashleigh. I was going in for a trim (1 inch) and a partial foil (purple). When I called, the receptions it was super nice and helpful. They were able to get me in within the next couple hours. I went in and there was water and coffee while waiting. I was early so I did wait a few minutes, but as soon as Ashleigh was available she came and got me for my appointment, which was at 11, I think we started early.
I sat down and we discussed what I wanted and she completely understood how much I wanted to cut and where I wanted the color (my previous red was going blonde). I have dark hair so it’s difficult for colors to take to the darker parts of my hair. The color came out great and my ends look 100 times better!
Ashleigh was very friendly and we talked throughout the whole appointment. I did let her know that I am very particular about my hair and how it comes out and she completely understood.
The whole experience was great. I did get a 10% discount for being a new client and Nancy (the owner) gave me a discount on some good color treatment shampoo since I had just gotten my hair colored.
The only reason I’d give this 4 stars instead of 5 is because when I got home I realized that I had been touching my hair and they were a little bit purple. Ashleigh did her best to use the color remover to get the purple from my scalp so it really isn’t to any fault of the salon, but I’ve had my hair colored a lot and haven’t had this happen before, but I also have never done purple in the past.
I’ll definitely be going back when I need to touch up my color or get another trim to see Ashleigh.

I went to Fancy Nancy’s today after not getting my hair cut for about 1 year. I had Ashley, who is awesome! She listened to what a wanted (to keep my length and clean up the layers) and then assessed how damaged my hair was. She told me she would have to take off 3 inches and that’s just what she did. She trimmed it all up, and she also waxed my eyebrows. She asked if I wanted to let my hair air dry instead of being blow-​dried straight which I appreciated because I don’t always want to spend time getting it blow-​dried straight. I love how fresh and clean my hair feels, as well as the style. Everyone at Fancy Nancy’s was kind and professional. I will definitely go back for my next haircut.

Wanted to thank Patty at Fancy Nancy’s for the excellent care she gave to my daughter today. My daughter was home from college for her Fall break but only home for Sunday since she goes to school in NC. I looked online for a salon open on Sunday. Fancy Nancy had very good reviews and I went on the website to read about the staff. I made the call and explained my daughter had had her hair blonde for a couple of years and wanted to go back to her natural golden brown. I was told that would be no problem. I asked for an afternoon appt and she asked if 3, pm would work. I said that would be perfect. I think I was speaking with Ashley. She was very nice, patient and professional. Patty was everything I was hoping for did an amazing job. She gave my daughter a beautiful cut and color. Now my daughter will be able to go back to her natural color without the ugly roots. I am sure she will continue to see Patty when she is home and I hope more people will too. I know she is a newer stylist at this salon but has over 14 yrs experience from other places.

After having «broken up» with my old hair dresser, and after 10 weeks of procrastination, I read Nancy’s reviews and decided to give them a try. I was thrilled! They have an amazingly professional, yet warm, friendly, welcoming atmosphere w/​so many master stylists to choose from!
I chose Nancy and now I know why this Salon is so amazing!
She is of course so knowledgeable, but relaxed, easy going and gives great attention to detail and is very thoughtful in her questions and her concerns. She did an amazing job w/​low and high lights, color, cut, shampoo and waxed and colored my eyebrows. All impeccable! She took her time– and I couldn’t be more pleased! Her coloring was what I had been dreaming about for years– but didn’t think possible! I can’t wait to show my friends at work! My only regret is that I didn’t know her when my daughter got married in June. Wish I had switched years ago!

After writing a review about the unpleasant experience I had with the receptionist, the business owner e-​mailed me apologizing and describing how her employees aren’t usually like that. She also answered my question about the prices for different haircuts, and offered to do my hair personally to make sure I had a good experience, to make up for the unpleasant one I had.
After seeing how the business owner took the time to personally respond to my review, I decided to make an appointment with them. But I decided not to tell them I was the one that wrote the review, so I could see how their hair stylists were. I had Ashleigh as my hairstylist; she was really nice and I really liked how she did my hair. When I was there, the employees seemed very friendly, the salon looked nice, and the prices seemed reasonable. It also seemed like there were a lot of hairdressers and stations, so it seems like it would be easier to schedule an appointment compared to some other salons. Seems like I had a rare experience with the receptionist I had talked to. I am glad I gave them a second chance and I plan on going back.

Outstanding. My hairdresser, Ashley, was knowledgable and kind and didn’t rush me! I got a partial foil, with a dark undertone dye, an express keratin treatment and trim. My hair looks and feels fantastic. She knew what she was doing and talked me up a storm. Which I love conversation! Salon was clean and beautiful. They had several clients in and out which tells me they have a strong customer base. I really enjoyed my first visit here today!

We live in NJ, so I came here only for a blow dry, nice place, nice reception and the best part was Leah the hair stylist who did a wonderful job. Next visit to family I know where to go.

I come here all the time. I couldn’t see my normal stylist so went to another. Specifically asked not to cut top and front length. Guess what, front is now 2 inches shorter. Won’t see her again. At least she didn’t charge full price after I expressed my dissatisfaction.

Was in desperate need to clean my eyebrows but was really afraid of trying a new place close to home since the last time I did that, the stylist removed too much hair. I have very long, thick eyebrows and need someone who knows how to work with them. I found this place through Unilocal and although there wasn’t a review for threading, I love how I was able to see the stylists and their certifications.
Sunitha not only heard my concerns and did exactly what I asked for, but she stopped every step of the way to make sure I approved what she was going to do. She even gave me tips as to how to help my eyebrows grow in the places where the past place took too much off.
I can’t even believe that it was only $ 10 for both my eyebrows and upper lip. In the city where I usually get them, it’s $ 12 for eyebrows only. She highly deserved her tip and has a new customer in me, all thanks in part to her great customer service!

Great spot. Really friendly staff, very talented, and comfortable. Amanda did an amazing job with my difficult crazy hair. She’s fantastic and loving my new ombré look.

Jessica did both my makeup and an up-​do for a formal military ball. Absolutely gorgeous on both counts. In fact, my hair stayed in place so well that I woke up the next morning with nearly perfect locks! Thanks, Jessica.

I needed an appointment quickly for a hair smoothing treatment and it was Saturday afternoon at 4:00 so I looked on Unilocal and found Fancy Nancy! They even had a 20% off first time clients and were open on Sunday. So that’s all perfect, but will I get in? I called and got an appointment the next morning. I asked for their earliest appointment and she came in way before their open hours to accommodate me. Impressed! I walked in and immediately felt at home not only because of the salon décor but because I recognized Nancy from a salon that I had gone to many times before. We immediately hit it off again and chatted for the entire time I was there. My hair came out beautiful and she gave me a little boost of self confidence that I needed. Come to find out she does that for everyone she meets and is involved with many charity organizations in the area. Nancy is a very nice, giving, kind, talented woman and I HIGHLY recommend giving this place a try and I’ve been to EVERY salon in the area. really. Its was a wonderful experience, I will go back again and I got no red lights on the way and on the way home. That must mean something, right? I wanted an updated look and I found fancy nancy in a search and my hair has never looked so good! The personalized service and warm friendly atmosphere keeps me coming back!

I recommend seeing Amanda. She is fantastic with your traditional styles, as well as edgy cuts and colors. She really listens to what you want, and is able to create it… and even do it better than you imagined!
She has brought my hair from dark brown to blonde and back to brown multiple times. and still keeps the integrity of your hair. My hair is still so healthy after multiple treatments. She really knows her stuff!
Prices are reasonable, and the quality is superb!
