Great place to pick up sandwiches on the way to the Narragansett Beach. The location is small but they bang out some pretty great sandwiches. Island Deli uses boar’s head meats and cheeses as well as some quality bread for all of their sandwiches. Both of these factors add up to a solid sandwich that will stand the test of time — or at least the time it takes you to put your sandwich in your beach bag, park the car and trek to the beach to find the«perfect spot». They also have a several types of side salads and my personal recommendation — pickles — which the employees are happy to cut up for easier consumption. Highly recommend stopping here on your way to the beach — you might not be hungry now but tanning and having fun in the sun takes a lot of energy!

We enjoyed two vegetarian sandwiches. One with Munster cheese, avocado and veggies. The second with Mozzarella cheese, pesto, roasted papers, avocado and tomatoes. Both sandwiches were good, the bread was fresh. The guy at the counter was polite and accommodating. We will come back.

Island Deli is one of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat during a lunch break or after a day at the beach. The food is delicious and the service is great! They are very accommodating and always give you exactly what you want. I highly recommend the wicked willow or my personal favorite, prosciutto and mozzarella with pesto! There are a lot of side options including salad, pasta salad, and a wide variety of chips. You can dine-in or take out, but whatever you choose to do, you’ll be more than satisfied!

Island Deli is a staple in the Narragansett, Scarborough beach-area. If you’re looking for a quick bite, call ahead. Even if you don’t call ahead, they usually provide relatively quick service. The guy(s?) working are always super sweet and the grinders are SOGOOD. The wicked willow is a classic and the el nico is my recent go-to. Those are my 2 favorites, so I haven’t strayed much, but I haven’t had a grinder I didn’t like yet. The prices are a little bit on the expensive side, but the bread is fresh and they use Boar’s Head meat so it’s definitely worth it. They also have a good drink(non-alcoholic) and chip selection to compliment any grinder. There’s an over-sized goldfish at the counter which adds a little flavor to the place. You can eat in or do take-out. Moral of the review is that if you’re in the Narragansett area and feenin’ for a grinder, stop at Island Deli!

Awesome sandwiches! Highly recommend stopping before going to the beach and a sandwich[s]. They also have pickles, get some! They will cut them up into smaller pieces. I ordered the El Niki with a chicken breast, which has mozzarella cheese, pesto, roasted red peppers and cheese! Excellent! And it was cooked hot, almost like panini style. Anne ordered a turkey and ham sandwich, hot with every vegetable they have! The service was quick and prices are good. Get there early as the place becomes a little busy around noon time. Check out the specials on the board. There is indoor seating or take it to go. Grab a bag of chips to go with and there is several drink options. On our next trip back, I will trying the roast beef sandwiches or the Italian combos!

Not the cleanest place. I ordered a simple grinder w extra lettuce, provolone, hot peppers, tomatoes. Mayo?! On my grinder?! Um, no way thanks. It was a pretty lame grinder. No hot peppers. No shredded lettuce. No love. This is, after all, GRINDER territory so I was super disappointed. They put the CURRY in the curried chicken salad for sure. It was way over powering. Ample fresh salad w lots of crunchy romain, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots but the prices were a bit ridiculous.

The food is pretty good(except for the buffalo chicken sandwich), but the service is horrible. They messed up an order and refused to fix it. Extremely disappointed. However Gansett wraps(across from stop and shop and next to O’Neils package on pt Judith) has much better food and the people that work there are great!!! Plus the liquor store and gas station next to Gansett wraps are both cheaper than the liquor/gas stations next to Island Deli.

This is a great place for a sandwich. It’s not cookie cutter like Subway or D’Angelos They are made fresh with high quality meats The Cuban and Hog Island are 2 personal favorites The breakfast sandwiches are also yummy fresh eggs and crispy bacon (BBAAACCCOONNN in my best Homer Simpson voice) I’ve tried the Hot Wieners they were good not great Since there is no NY System down here they aren’t bad options However, they are not open late night. So I would stick with the yummy sandwiches As far as claims the Sandwiches are Huge I guess huge is a relative term Huge sandwiches to me is the Jersey Mike Giant Size These aren’t even a footlong I’d say they are maybe 8 – 9 inches good size not huge To me though the taste of them sets them apart The variety of chips and drinks are also an added bonus There is limited seating and more of pickup place on the way to beach or block Island and the view isn’t anything to talk about But the décor inside is unique and nice and very clean. For a sandwich shop I highly recommend it It not a gourmet Restaurant but it is a gourmet sandwich shop My only gripe is I wish the sandwiches were bigger or they had a bigger option

Mehhhhh … not bad. Had a roast beef sandwich, and some coleslaw. It was fair to good without being exceptional. Seems like a good place to stop if you were heading to the Block Island ferry or coming from Block Island.

$ 6.99 for a giant sub of deliciousness? Yes, please. The service isn’t speedy, but everyone is friendly and the subs are SO good. Just what I needed after a long beach day.

Our go-to spot when we’re camping at Fisherman’s & don’t feel like grilling. Seriously awesome sandwiches — great portions & imaginative combos. Excellent quality products used too — Boar’s Head meats, Willow Tree and freshy-fresh breads. Really great spot for a yummy bite!

The rail splitter is amazing. The Johnny Mac is also good but would be better with coleslaw added. I also think I prefer white over rye so next time I’ll swap it out. This is a solid sandwich place. The guy working at the counter was very friendly and they have dragonfruit vitamin water zero, my fav

My #1 lunchtime sandwich shop! I’ve eaten here 5 times now so I could have enough experience to evaluate them fairly and it is definitely the best sandwich shop in the area(Narragansett, South Kingstown). Don’t leave without trying the classic Hog Island or Wicked Willow – mmm. They use only top shelf meats and cheese from Boar’s Head, and consistently come up with new specials(try the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich). Fresh, crispy bread and freshly cut vegetable toppings, so everything crunches. All the sandwiches are sauced/spiced just right and there is enough of a variety(Italian, Greek, NYC, Cuban, etc.) to keep you coming back for another one. They invent their own recipes as well, all of which are all good – I have a tendency to pick randomly from the menu, and have ended up with flavors I wouldn’t ordinarily order that have all been excellent(love the balsamic vinegar, adds some punch). I’m not sure about claims of «huge sandwiches», the sizes seem fairly normal for sub sandwiches(roughly 12″), so if you have an empty stomach, this will fill it. Lots of college kids coming in for post-hangover cures, so be ready to order or just call in early and they’ll have it ready. Nice and relaxing inside with about 6 small tables, but not much of a view(into the gas station parking lot). No big deal, though, you’ll be ogling your sandwich as you scarf it down, anyway.

I LOVE the Island Deli. Terrific subs. Love the Omega Moo. Be warned, there is a strong sense of hemp in the place, if you know what I mean.
