What do you get when you cross a diner with fantastic food with a full bar with 5 or 6 excellent craft beer taps, and stick it all in a 100 year old building? Spengler’s, of course. We drove over from New Haven, IN to check out this place and the local craft brewery. We got there on Sat. at 12:30 and the place was packed. We found a couple seats at the bar(a diner type bar, they don“t have a proper bar rail, but do have a great old back bar). After choosing a couple craft beers from the very interesting local craft beer selection they had, we ordered some fried green beans for starters. They were very good, but slightly over done. No biggie. After another beer each, my wife ordered the lent menu fish tacos, and I ordered the bison burger. My wife loved her cod fish tacos, and my bison burger was one of the best I have ever had. Cooked to order, med. rare. The better half also had an excellent slice of mixed berry pie. We could see the chefs cooking up everyones food from where we sat, and everything looked fantastic, and was cooked to order. On top of the great food and beer, every single person who worked there smiled, and were very friendly. The service was great, even though they were packed. Everything was very reasonably priced to boot. So, we have found our new once monthly Saturday drive dining spot. A really great place. Can’t wait to return.

Good pub to visit with friends or by yourself. Nothing fancy, and the staff is friendly. I like the cozy booths in the back. I had the fried pork tenderloin sandwich – still a yummy memory. Try the fried pickle spears. So good – never had anything like them.

How have we never eaten here before? We only live half an hour away. The pulled pork nachos were amazing as were the sweet potato fries dusted with cinnamon sugar. Husband had the Reuben and I had the Hawaiian grilled cheese. Both were perfectly toasted and delicious. Reasonable pricing, too. We will definitely be back!

Happy to stumble upon Spenglers with the help of Unilocal.Get the PULLEDPORKNACHOS! They will be the best you’ve ever eaten, which is why I’m giving 5 stars. I had a small side salad and a «brat and kraut.» He had a Reuben sandwich(popular choice there) and handcut fries. Friendly staff. It’s not that far from US-24, and I’m sure you’re tired of all the chain restaurants.

Stopped here on the way to Huntington. Found on Unilocal(of course)! Very classy and yet homely place. Everything tastes good. Had the double baked potato soup and chicken chunks. Delicious. My friend ordered the ham and bean soup and a pork carnitas. Also delicious. If I am driving this way I will be back here. Just off US24

Local treasure. Half sports bar half diner. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly(Jake). This is a don’t miss stop, the soups are homemade. I had the stuffed pepper soup great taste plenty of meat but could have used more peppers(of course it was January and nothing on the vine. Would definitely order again. Great burger and dog menu. Dessert was good but they were out of my favorite(carrot cake). Great food and coupled with a great bar with a large selection of beers and wine. Do not miss if you are within an hour drive.

Read their website and stopped for dinner while on my way from Ann Arbor to Indianapolis. Liked it so much that we stopped again on the way back the next evening. Their sweet potato fries are fantastic! Hot, crisp, and dry(not soaked in grease). Almost like they’re baked. Dusted with cinnamon. Mmmmmm. Had pulled pork sandwich one night & their Wild West Buffalo Burger the next. Both sandwiches served on fresh pretzel bread rolls. Great flavor. Fast service. Would have loved to stay longer & had a fresh draft of Yuenling beer & watch a game on TV. Marking this place as a must-stop on my next trip through the area. Oh, and very, very affordable & family friendly.

Happened across Spenglers by accident. Old building, fantastic history, buckeye fans, and a great community asset. Food was good, and inexpensive. Staff were enjoyable, and enthusiastic

Looked for a restaurant in Napoleon since we were looking for a change of pace for Breakfast(which is my favorite meal of the day and found a very unique place called Spengler’s located right in the downtown area. I do not know why we haven’t stopped there before. The building’s history dates from 1879 and had previously been a Bank among other venues. First of all, just have to say, I loved the place. The ambiance was charming, the service was great and the people in there all said hello there, as we walked to a booth.(they also have tables). Coffee was mellow and was passed freely, eggs, bacon and home home fries for me; eggs, sausage patties and hash browns for my husband. We will be back, most definitely!!! Oh, by the way, the only negative I found in the entire restaurant were the Ohio State items they had among the other décor.(yes, I’m a Michigan fan), but my husband, the Buckeye fan totally appreciated it!
