Grouper sandwich and fries were perfect! Island Gypsy punch was cold and intoxicating when combined with a busy marina and a good stiff salt water breeze!

Living close to the Gypsy, we go often. We have NEVER had a bad meal. Everything we have had and our friends have had has been Exelant. The mahi mahi is moist and a good size piece, the tai chicken is tremendous in taste and size. You get half chicken. The fried shrimp is to die for, and the carrot cake dessert is also large and you get one quarter of the cake. It is enough for three or four people. You will not be disappointed with the Gypsy, the food is great and the service is also great. It is worth the trip.

What a perfect spot for a beautiful day! Very casual and outside café next to the water. Simple but great menu. I split the gypsy salad(greens, strawberries, walnuts and goat cheese with sweet onion dressing) and also ordered the fish tacos without the tortilla since I’m gluten free. Very delicious and light! So glad we went!

Food was amazing and service was even better! The waitress was so friendly and offered to take our picture as soon as we sat down. The shrimp po’boy wrap was excellent!

This is simply a most wonderful place. Our first of what will be many visits. The location on the river is great just like the staff. Notable menu items: Lobster roll — is real a lobster roll with real lobster and a very healthy serving! Onion rings — these are an extra special treat! Crispy and flavorful. Carrot cake — WARNING! Have a piece of carrot cake first cause you won’t have room for any for dessert. First of all a ‘slice’ comes on a platter! I kid you not. It comes on a platter! Caramelized pecan halves on top of the most moist carrot cake I’ve ever had. And the cream cheese icing is, well, a religious taste event all by itself!!! If it isn’t too hot sit outside by the marina and enjoy it’s sites. Wherever you sit I suspect you’ll have a most wonderful time just as we did! Ken B.

Our friend took us here for dinner. She has been multople times and loves the fish tacos and onion rings. Us three shared onion rings and they were really good, the breading was not to heavy, and they were slightly crunchy. Two of us shared a margarita pizza! There was not any sauce just big fresh tomatoe along with basil and the best fresh mozzarella cheese! It was very good! One of us had rare prime rib/seasoned fries. It was said to be 12 ounces but definitely seemed like more, both were excellent! For drinks we had a piña colada and a strawberry colada. The piña colada was much stronger, yet both came with a rum floater for no additional charge. My only con’s about the place is the mosquitos! They do offer bug spray. but the citronella tiki torches would not stay lit, which would have helped with the bugs and viewing the menu in the dark. They should consider putting citronella candles on each table. Great dinner otherwise.

Starting with the service, their service was slow and there was only about two people working. The food was good my fried shrimp blt was delicious, but the fries were not so good. If I go again it better be good and it usually is but I will give it a second chance

The fried food smell is overpowering, so that’s an indicator of what to expect. The mahi mahi tacos were fine — I liked that they had a little heat — but the homemade potato chips were burnt. They have the nice seasoned fries that don’t come with the tacos but which my companion shared. The water view consisted of boats moored at the marina. It was brutally hot when we visited, but there was a nice breeze coming off the water. This 3-star restaurant is about as good as Naples gets.

Gormet food at moderate prices. Lobster Rubin excellent, Island Tacos(mahi-mahi) GREAT ! Creative Drinks. Their Obviously PROUD of what they serve and care about their Patrons. Kelly was our waiter and he was great. We drove from ft. Lauderdale and meet friends from port Charlotte both over 100 miles away. Direct water-side seating AND J. Buffet style entertainment. WOW. We Will Be Going Back. Jim S.

Great place to get lunch and look over the water. Excellent lunch salad — chicken with mangos hearts of palm etc. place was empty today. Music was not to my taste and loud. Service was excellent.

Nice«island» atmosphere on the water. Seems to popular with locals and has a nice bar crowd as well as families and large groups dining. We wanted a casual night out while the grandparents watch our son so we grabbed seats at the bar and shared food. Onion rings were amazing but the chicken sandwich was awful. I wish I would have read other reviews and ordered what people recommended! Overall, great place if you want to avoid crossing the bridge onto Marco but live nearby.

Grilled chicken sandwich severely over cooked, on this trip and slow service. I eat here for the atmosphere not so much the food. Food is ok but better food values in the area

This place was excellent. The waitresses and staff were very attentive and just sitting down, while breathing in the salt air took a load off my tired feet. The beer was great and the food was fresh and portions were large. I will definitely go back.

Spent a week in Marco island, and ate at many good places, but this was our favorite! Fun, funky outdoor bar/restaurant with outstanding fare, and friendly staff. Chris took good care of us the first time there. We liked this place so much we went back a second time, & our waitress was equally good! Unfortunately, I can’t remember her name. Maybe too many rum runners.

It had just poured rain and all the covered tables were taken, but our friendly waitress Melissa found us a dry spot with a water view. We had great service throughout and the chef even came out to check we were happy with the food. The food is approachable and tasty, with effort put into quality and presentation. We appreciated fried items were lightly battered and fluffy, like the onion rings and the grouper sandwich. To be honest, I found the Lobster Reuben slightly perplexing at first but it grew on me. The fries are very addictive. Very enjoyable outdoor dining experience even at «feels like» 98 degree weather!

The best thing I ate in Naples this past week was the Blackened Grouper sandwich at the Island Gypsy… Unreal how good it was, extremely fresh, perfect seasoning… Could have had three, the fries were also very tasty… A cool place to grab an umbrella drink, listen to some good tunes and enjoy the ocean(as its right on the water). The fish tacos were damn good too, my wife really enjoyed them with two gypsy punches(alcoholic fruity drink) never seen her drink anything that quick… All in all a great little place to chill out and enjoy some good food! 10⁄10 we shall definitely be back.

One star for food, five stars for location and friendly service. Great for getting beer and enjoying this relaxing tiki bar on the marina. If you are starving, the fish sandwich was alright and the hot dogs were enormous and quiet tasty. Chips were store bought(even though they have a Tortilleria around the corner in Naples) and salsa tasted a lot like Pace Picante(mild), for shame!

If not for the Key West vibe, other reviews and seeing what could’ve been, I would’ve rated this restaurant with 2 stars. The ambiance consoled my inner critic –there are worse things than overly-relaxed service and dry nachos. Sipping a cocktail on the deck, taking in the sun and breeze won out, hoping to update my review with remarks of the food rivaling the atmosphere on my next visit. In the meantime, atmosphere gets 4 – 5 stars, food 2… this trip. Other reviews give the grouper sandwich high stars so curiosity peaked… probably for another trip asap. I don’t know how you get nachos wrong, but the tortilla chips were thick and course, not very tasty… I’d even go for salty over bleh. Not sure about their choice of Béchamel sauce with crumbles of some kind of unknown cheese on top, maybe farmers and not much of it ?? Of course I needed to sample many menu items so pepperoni pizza, salad and a burger qualified the 2⁄3 stars. Our waitress, Amy, harmless enough I’m sure if she’s a passenger, but she’s a waitress and needed some skills. I know some of the wait staff knows what they’re doing, like Chris(I think) who was fun to watch. I asked Amy about the T-shirts, she said they’re out. Then I hear Chris enthusiastically describing their inventory … men’s sizes, women’s, colors, artwork. Really Amy?! Chris also told our neighboring table of specials… Amy’s apparently on the quiet side. I wanted to spend more money, more beers please, please. I’m getting ticked off just recalling it. But then Chris’ willingness to please his customers next to us made me long to come back and try again.

We had lunch here today and were please with the wonderful ambiance. It was tiki like, right on the water. We were there early and it was not crowded. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. By the time we finished the restaurant was quite busy. My husband had the clam chowder and said it was very good. We split the fried calamari which was some of the best I have tasted, fresh and tender with a nice dipping sauce. I would go back just for that! My husband had the shrimp po boy wrap which he liked but said it was too messy. I ordered the blackened grouper sandwich. You can get that fried or grilled as well. The grouper was nice but overall the sandwich was lacking some flavor. The meal came with coleslaw and fries. The fries were good and the slaw was fresh but again, could have used some more celery seed or pepper or something. All in all if I am ever here again I would return.
