Rue Noir

I need to alert you that some of these past reviews are stale, and thus the info isn’t the case anymore!
Going on what our usually accurate Unilocalers said, I was excited to check this place out since it sounded like they offered quite a range of sizes!
…Only to arrive at the store and find out that they’ve phased out everything except the «department store» sizes.
Sad face.
The lady at the counter was very nice about it, but that is a drag.
They have some «garments» in addition to actual underthings (i.e. so you can look stylin’ in the bedroom), as well as peripherals like candles etc.
Prices were about what I expected to find in a smaller shop: the bras I browsed ranged anywhere from $ 26 to $ 86.
I’m just really disappointed that one more option for «in-​person» shopping (which is critical when you’re looking for a bra) is apparently nixed if you’re outside the «average.» range. Too bad; I was in «shut up and take my money!» shopping mode, too…

While I haven’t actually purchased anything here (I’ll spare you as to why) I have loved browsing and window shopping. Everything is so adorable. The store has a very classy but sexy vibe. Some merchandise was pricey but there were many other moderately priced items. The lovely owner was super sweet and really helpful.

Rue has an awesome selection of sexy classics, like bustiers and panties, to sexy retro styles, swimwear and sexy burlesque fashion. They even sell more intimate sexy products like sexy lotions, potions and pillows. I could have tried on everything in the store, but instead opted for a few sexy items that struck my sexy fancy and that will be sure to strike the sexy fancy of my sexy fiancé! Did I mention the place is sexy?

Rue Noir might mean «The Dark Street,» but this little boutique (as they say, and my mother hates) really POPS with color. Naturally, they have the classic red and black boudoir basics; however, you can easily find your favorites in brown, hot pink, light blue and all the colors of the rainbow. They also make it easy to mix-​n-​match outfits at a reasonable price.
Customer service is A+. JoJo F. and I came for their Girls Night Out event and had the chance to browse the regular racks, comb through the clearance bins and sample some sweets. We also had the opportunity to practice some burlesque moves (courtesy of Nine Muses) to accompany our new numbers. Outfits were marked down to $ 10, bras were $ 7, panties were $ 5, which made most items 50% off or more!
Why not 5 sexy stars? The items I did find were hit or miss for me and the sizing is not accurate. Make sure you try on EVERYTHING before buying because the labels lie. I’m a high C/​low D. Their DDs and Es were too small. I tried on 5 bras and ended up with one that was a high B. Go figure! It’s just not reliable enough for me to know what size I need if I want to pop in quickly. Also, one pair of underwear didn’t even make it an entire day before the bows started to fray (sad panda). So far the other cute undies have survived wearing and washing. 4 solid sassy stars for that!

But nevertheless, I say «Rue La La» to Rue Noir!
A week before my first visit to Rue, I was in dire need of new bras (re– I even went as far as stapling the elastic back into one of my old ones– so yeah, it was time and I am obvi cray cray). I went to a certain lingerie store with a ‘Secret’ and tried on 15 different bras that we’re all ill fitting and uncomfortable. Fed up and frustrated, I bought a $ 65 bra that had a cute print but didn’t fit very well and was crazy uncomfortable; it was the best of the worst… then the sad Charlie Brown song played in my hanging head as I walked out with said crappy overpriced bra in hand, thinking «Good Grief! There must be something better out there.» Enter: Rue.
I give this sultry and stylish little boudoir boutique my OFFICIAL «I’m addicted to the point of calling an intervention expert» stamp of approval. I’ve got a habit that involves getting my fix of Rue AT LEAST twice a week, but sometimes, the third times the charm. I’ve never left without purchasing multiple things, including– but not limited to:

*$ 25 bras that are not only super cute but incredibly comfy
*$ 100 bras that are worth
.cent they fit so well and are so damn comfy + sexy
*lingerie
*lotions
*candles
*pinup swimwear
*jewelry
*sexy tasty treats
*beautiful head bands
*and bachelorette party gifts that are NOT trashy like so many other places… no hackneyed pink pecker necklaces here, folks. Rue Noir keeps it classy.
I love the one owner, Christina. She’s there every time I go in and she’s an expert at finding things I’ll love and that I need. Okay, I might not need them, but I want them… badly… and so will you. HomeGirl is so good that the first time I walked in I didn’t even have to say anything but my size and she found the cutest Betsey Johnson bra for me… and it was on sale for 50% off!
Beyond the sales here being Uh-​Maze-​Ing, and the regularly priced merch being of high quality and showcasing a great line-​up of products in varying price ranges from $ 25 – 100, my favorite thing about Rue Noir are the sizes. They have SO SO SO SO SO SO SO many bras in specialty sizes and they’re all super adorbies!
~Have mosquito bite boobies? No Problemo!
~Little in the middle but you got much bewb? They’ve got THE BEST selection I’ve ever seen of bras with smaller back sizes like 30 and 32 with large cup sizes from D to shining DD.
~Are you an über busty bombshell or voluptuous vixen? They’ve got some of the most adorable and feminine bras with E and F cups in the $ 30 range so you don’t have to spend big to look and feel great. Absolutely nothing they sell here will make you feel like you’re a member of Grandma’s Girdle Militia– scouts honor.
