This salon is AMAZING!!! I have gone to the same stylist for 15 years and she was moving. She recommended a few other stylists from my salon but I had seen their work and was not impressed. I searched for a new salon, I checked out the reviews on the salon where my daughter goes and they were horrible. I’m truly not sure why she still goes there lol. After my thorough search I found my match. I called on a Thursday and they were able to schedule an appt the next day. I had forgotten I had a meeting the same time, I called back the receptionist was so patient and actually listened to what I was saying and asking for. Being a new client you have your fears but she was great she said she would notate my account for my hairdresser. I arrived at my appt 15 min early and was seated shortly after that. My stylist was Melissa she was amazing when I booked my original appt I was scheduled with a stylist for color and another for a cut. When I rescheduled I was booked with Melissa for both. She was truly amazing, she listened to what I wanted or what I thought I wanted. Who would have thought after 15 years same color and cut was actually not a good fit? Melissa offered suggestions and I felt comfortable to trust her and it worked. I love my hair although I’m over 50 she restored the confidence I had been missing. Thank you so much Melissa. The ONLY drawback… Melissa will be leaving on maternity leave soon probably before my next appt but Melissa assured me the details of my color will be listed in my file and she also assured me any available stylist will take care of me. I found my salon, if you can walk out of a salon with a smile feeling good about yourself… stick with it.

Let me start off my review by saying I have followed my stylist Krista EVERYWHERE. This is by far my favorite salon yet, though! The salon is clean, a lot of parking, next to a Starbucks (which is a HUGE plus if you anticipate getting a lot of work done!), broad range of services (nails, hair color, treatments, ect.) and friendly service. I struggle with certain salons as I’m sure most of us do. You know the typical run of the mill snotty hair girl who instantly judges as you walk in. This salon is the complete opposite! I was greeted immediately, asked if I needed anything on multiple occasions, made aware of all their promotions (which were amazing!).
Now, to review Krista. People. I cannot tell you enough how amazing she is w/​color. I have naturally dark brown hair but I dream of having locks like J.Lo. which is obviously a huge process! Krista is always realistic with me and gives me her best opinion. She knows my style so well that she’s able to suggest what she thinks I’d like. and I ultimately always go w/​what she suggests. She’s done amazing balayage color, all over honey blonde, and all over dark for me and every time she makes sure my hair can handle the color and let’s me know ahead of time what to expect. Another thing I love about seeing her is she is up front with how much things will cost. I always end up adding on little things and she makes sure to let me know what everything adds up. something most stylists will not do.
FINALLY. this last time I went in I did their split end treatment. I was super nervous because I’ve never had it done before but my hair feels amazing! It is not crazy expensive and I’m telling you I’ve received so many compliments on how shiny my hair looks. I definitely recommend it!

I’d never been to a professional hair salon before this. Every time I dyed my hair, I did it at home with a box dye.
I called last-​minute and they set up an appointment for me with Jaclyn, who was very kind and accommodating.
I’m trying to go from near-​black to an ashy blonde, and she spent a good five minutes advising me on the best way to go about doing that and why.
Jaclyn worked on my hair gently and thoroughly, then set me up under a dryer chair for a while. They have magazines, or you can look at your phone.
She checked on me regularly whilst I waited there, then afterward, gave me a haircut and I was on my merry way. Many compliments ensued!
Big thanks to her. I’ll be back shortly to progress my transition from dark brown to blonde!

I went there yesterday to get back to school cuts for my 4 and 8 year old. I called at 1 and was able to get both children in at the same time at 3. The salon itself is beautiful and the staff was very welcoming. My son has very very thick hair with a ton of colics and she was able to turn an overgrown Mohawk into a great crew cut that blended beautifully. This was my daughters first real cut and she did exactly as I asked and did a great job as well. I normally go to cheaper places but I was impressed and plan to go myself for cut and color. They also have a full service spa with waxing too! Looking forward to trying out some services.

Not one to post or complain but maybe this will help someone else. I went to Ashley for color and it did not come out as requested. But hey not the end of the world. I was told (less than 1 week of getting it done) that I would have to pay to get it fixed so I held off. I went in again and it looks like a drunk warlock did my hair. Again it’s just one bad hair day but maybe be careful and save the paper.

Took my son to see Michael Graham Salon for a haircut. Ryan Casserly gave my son the best haircut he’s ever had. The time attention to detail Ryan gave my son was perfect. The Salon is run very professionally but not stuffy. The atmosphere is bright, modern and fresh.
Highly recommended. Grab Ryan if you can!

Ashley was great, this is a nice salon. It is on the high side for price but Ashley does a great job and they have good products so I don’t mind paying more. All the staff was very nice and helpful from booking my appointment, checking in, ect ect. It is also very clean inside. I would go back again.

I am traveling and HAD to have a haircut. I loath cheating on my usual stylist… it’s scary! BUT Alicia did a great job. She listened, and gave me exactly what I asked for. She does a lovely blow out. The price was half what I usually pay. The salon was nice! I’m impressed. Go! Ask for Alicia!

Had a pedicure and a massage here and am quite impressed! Very professional staff, great quality service, and a relaxing atmosphere. I look forward to trying more services and adding my last final star!

Annette did a fantastic job with my haircut, despite the fact that very few people are able to successfully do what I ask of them. She is also fun, friendly, and easy to talk to. The salon itself is very nice, and prices are about what I am used to paying at Aveda salons. I will definitely be going back.

Did not like my hair cut. My hair looks and feels like I went to a Hair Cuttery place. The lady that did it did not even blow dry my hair, she flat-​ironed it, which is what I can do for free at home. I asked her to modernize my cut and she didn’t do anything different but just trim what I already had. Seemed to me to be lazy. I then asked her to round brush my hair to finish the look, and she did like three strands and that’s it, my hair looked just as flat as before I asked her. Extremely disappointed that I paid $ 50 for this :(

I’ve been coming here for years. I don’t know why it took so long to write a review. In fact, I was one of the owners’ first customers when she worked at another salon. So yeah, I’m pretty loyal. I’ve never had any nail services here, but I did get a massage once or twice, and I get my hair cut here. I’d tell you who cuts my hair, but I don’t want her to get overbooked :-) There’s not a bad thing about this place.

I was here very recently to get my hair done as a bridesmaid. I had my hair style picked out and ready to go. Monica did an excellent job and made my hair exactly how I wanted it to look. I showed her a photo and it was replicated exactly.
Here is where the excellent customer service kicked in though…
One of the other bridesmaids mentioned that my hair was looking very similar to the bride and nicely nudged me that it might be a good thing to change my hair (mind you my hair was completely done). I was a little upset that this was not comminucated to me before Monica started, however being a bride to be, I know that it’s the bride’s day not mine… and I asked Monica if she would be able to change my hair. She said no problem! All with a smile on her face. Her positive attitude immediately made me feel better, even when the new style wasn’t really what I wanted, she changed it again until I felt happy.
Thank you Monica for your patience, positive attittude, and understanding that all a woman wants is to feel her best at an event.
I would highly recommend going here if you live in the area.

BIG THANKS to the front desk and salon professionals at Michael Graham Salon! In preparation for the NIU MBA graduation, we walked in with no appointment and received great service! Thank you for your positive attitude and willingness to take care of us. My hair was beautiful and my husband kept commenting on how great it looked. Though I live in Seattle, I would come back again.

I moved to Western Springs from the city in August and was so worried about finding a good salon and stylist in the ‘burbs.’ I went to several places and then landed here and am happy to say I am done with my search.
The salon is great, peaceful, eclectic, and modern.
Jera is my stylist and is awesome. I first had her do single process. When she did a great job with that added Highlights and after that she now also cuts my hair. I have never found a stylist that got a perfect 10 in all areas. She is precise and really takes her time to perfect everything.
I highly recommend Jera and have already had several friends and family visit her and have the same opinion!

I’m so done with this place
The first time I came in here they were having a special for 50% off my first service so I decided to get my fill done on my nails here. Well about 10 minutes after I sat down in the chair it came apart under me luckily I didn’t fall to the ground. They said they were sorry and I said fine. The service was good and wasn’t to sure if I was going to come back or not.
Well a week later I receive a letter from the manager and a $ 50 gift card.
So I went back this past Saturday and I got to appointment 10 minutes before hand because I don’t like to keep people waiting if I can avoid it! So I’m sitting there for like 15 5minutes and the receptionist goes do you know that you’re appointment was at 9:30 and I said yes! She goes well it seems like you’ve been sitting here for a long time and I just wanted to make sure. I said I have been sitting here for 15 minutes and I came in early to make sure I was on time and mind you they switched my appointment from 9:45 to 9:30 because I decided to soak off my acrylic. Well I was so discouraged and the women did an awful job on my manicure. It was horrible. I still have $ 15 left on the gift card so I don’t know what I’m going to do!

I’m not the most loyal girl when it comes to salons. I will jump around to try new services or if their are specials. However, I might have to reconsider my behavior and settle down.
Each time I go here I have been met with a smiling face in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
I have had waxing and nail services and have been pleased with both. I have also called them last minute and they squeezed me in.
I only gave it 4 stars because as someone else has also mentioned it was pretty loud. When your in the spa in should be tranquil and I don’t want to hear anything!

When i have a vision of what a salon atmosphere should be, this is exactly what i imagine!!! You walk in the front door and are greated right away every single time. There is always more than one girl at the front desk waiting to help you get started with your services. Another great «salon» relaxing affect is the waterfall/​logo. You already feel calm and ready to relax while you’re there.
I started going to Michael Graham salon to get my nails done. I am getting married in August (’10) and wanted to get used to the nails before my actual wedding day. My nail tech did a thorough walkthrough on how the nails are put on and how they eventually become your own. There is no nail damage that will ever occur to the actual nail and no drills are used. I was sold at the no power tools like other smalll nail places.
What solidifies my review into being five stars is due to my recent experience. It was 4:00 on a Friday afternoon (they close at 5:00) and I needed a quick trim to get my hair healthy for a trial run through I was doing that following Sunday. They were able to get me in extremely last minute. I got the most relaxing shampoo I have ever received in my life and walked out loving my hair cut more than I ever expected. I’m very critical when it comes to health & beauty services but I will continue to recommend Michael Graham Salon!!!

I would give this place five stars if the interior and atmosphere were a little better, and since to me first impressions are made as you walk in the door, I just can’t go there — however — the services were superior.
The décor was a little too dark, the smells of perm/​colorant too strong, and overall the place too noisy (even in the spa services area another lady voiced my complaint about a really loud and obnoxious man on the other side).
Now on to the review: I won a charity auction for several services and because I have a wedding this Sat I decided to book the facial, mani/​pedi.
Facial was first and OMG they have the most comfortable treatment tables ever. The esthetician told me they spared no expense and went with the highest end, fully adjustable at many points — and you can tell. The facial was awesome. Because I am pregnant there is a limit to what I can get done chemical wise — mine was the hydrating or some other. Great mini massage, head, scalp, arms, neck, shoulders — and the best part I didn’t come home to my husband saying — who beat up your face?
The mani/​pedi exactly the same. The pedicure tub/​seat could have been better — they have amazing ones at Zazu — much more comfy and the new ones at Neo Bella too. This one was ok, but the attention to service was extremely worth it. Warm scented neck wrap, drinks, even spa slips ons and a protective bag for my shoes to go home in. My nails look terrific — nice and full, plump — I hate when they wind up looking like paper thin spoons.
I rather not give out the names of these wonderful ladies, but I already booked a few more appointments — so for facials check out Rochelle and for mani/​pedi check out Christine. Facial was $ 78, Mani I want to say $ 26 and pedi $ 45.
