Very good food, nice and clean, friendly staff, I had the beef sandwich which was pretty good and daughter and wife had the hot dogs which they said were very good, little bit pricey but well worth it, definitely will go back to try more on the menu

I love this place, very clean, fast, and the people are beyond friendly and very normal. My «go-to» dog joint when I’m working in Naperville.

Greek fries and pizza puff were delicious. I tried the dogs and they were average for Vienna. Italian beef is tasty and the chopped salad was great.

Came here about a couple times already, would be coming here often if I had one closer to my place! Excellent service, super mouth watering food & got my kid hooked on their pizza puffs. It’s contagious, cause my kid just got my Über picky, younger, nephew hooked on their pizza puffs too!

I always drive past this place and was at Discount Tire and waiting for my car so I figured I’d check it out. Seemed relatively busy when I arrived which I will attribute the not so clean dining area to. When it slowed down a bit one of the girls came out and cleaned up a bit and even apologized for the mess. I only had a hot dog and fries and it was pretty standard. They have crinkle cut fries which I am not a huge fan of but that’s my own problem… in any case I think this place is good for an easy meal but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here.

Good place for a dog or a beef. Easy in and out. Nothing special, but consistently good. The owners are usually there and want to make sure your experiences are positive ones

If you love Italian Beef Chicago style, double dipped on request with hot giardinare & cheese with crispy, crinkle cut fries… this is one of my favorites. No need to drive to Chicago with Johnnie’s right down the street. My hubby loves the gyros & when I want to mix it up, I’ll order the combo beef & sausage. Their food is always served hot & service is spot on. They might not be quite as fast as a drive through, but oh so worth it when it comes to flavor & quality. The place is always clean & the owner is usually around to make sure his place is running smoothly, orders come out perfect & his customers are happy. Glad I found this place & even more happy it’s so close to home!!!

Food here is very good, prices reasonable. The place is clean, and service has always been good. Not many nice hot dog /burger places around… this is the best in South Naperville /Plainfield area.

Go to hotdog beef place in the area. Very high quality product and the crinkle fries are awesome. Gyro is very good and the salads are well made. Highly recommend

Best Red Hots place in the area. The prices are good, the food is good and the Greek fries are to die for. What’s even better than that is the friendly people who run it. Awesome service and good food make me a happy boy.

I’ve been here a couple times now. The first time I had a gyro and my family had burgers The gyro wasn’t bad. The second time I had their hot dog. For a place with Red hot in the name, you’d think it would be one of the best things they had. Like a couple other Unilocalers noted, the dog was small! I did leave hungry. Johnny, please get a a different supplier for your weiners.

After running all over Chicagoland on Saturday without eating a single thing, I was desperate to get something in my stomach. Upon leaving Caputo’s, I spotted Johnny’s and thought«That’ll do, pig. That’ll do.» I walked inside, and without hesitation decided on a Chicago style dog with fries(and a cup for water). I told the cashier I wanted everything on it. At that point she asked«Celery salt?» She caught me off guard and it took a moment before I could blurt out a «yes, please.» I figured most people would request no tomatoes or sport peppers, as everywhere else I go the cashiers will double check if I want either item on my dog. But celery salt? Really? How many people in south Naperville are so offended by celery salt that it has trumped the question about wanting hot peppers or tomatoes? After paying for my order, I took a seat in a booth. There were two other parties eating; both looked close to finishing their meals. It was a bit quiet in there. I noticed that even though a «now open» sign hung outside(giving the impression that this is a new place), the booth I happened to be sitting in had seen better days. I think there was more green tape on the bench seat than the original material. Less than two minutes after I ordered, my number was called. After snapping a picture of my food, I surveyed the grub. The crinkle cut fries were pretty darn good. Piping hot, not overly salted, and had the perfect crunch. I was pleased. The hot dog came on a poppy seed bun, which looked like it was oversteamed. The tomato slices overtook the rest of the ingredients so I ended up picking them off. Onions, mustard, sport peppers, and celery salt were a-okay. The relish was not the bright green kind you see on an authentic Chicago Style ‘dog, but a very sweet generic tasting one. The pickle slice was not a pickle but a thin slice of cucumber. While I do enjoy cucumbers, I don’t care for them on my hot dogs. After my meal, I was still hungry. I decided against ordering something else and just went home. I wasn’t overly impressed with Johnny’s. For the price, you can get a dog and fries elsewhere for less.

My kids and I visited this place a couple weeks ago for the first time. I ordered a Gyro and was impressed! Good flavored meat — not overly salty. My kids hot dogs were good and the service was great! We are fans and will make this our go-to hot dog, etc., place.

Johnny has so many good things on the menu its hard to decide what I wanted. But then I decided on the chop salad which was great I would definitely go here again.

After having an excellent Italian beef sandwich the other day at Nicky’s, I decided to continue my odyssey and see if anyone in the area could match up or beat the one I had on Friday. Since I was going to be on 59 anyway I tried out Johnny’s. While this was a good sandwich, I will say that it wasn’t better than Nicky’s. However, the seasoning was good and the gravy dip didn’t cause the entire thing to melt into mush. Adding cheese was a good choice. The order came up quickly, though the place was pretty busy. Got swift, polite service from the young man at the counter(though he was practically drowned out by all the noise in the house. The place is small and was mostly families with kids, but they weren’t the problem — it was a table of four loudmouth girls. This is not the sort of place you expect to be able to do your zen meditation, but geez.) They also have hot dogs, gyros, subs, etc. Wouldn’t be my first choice in the future, but not a bad option by far.

You can find much better food somewhere else. The owner looks like he’s eating the profits and was kinda rude. AVOID! Tasty Bite is far better!

The service was top notch, the place was very clean and relaxed, but the food was rather underwhelming. The meal looked kid-sized when I got what I ordered. The pickle was barely even a slice, there were no tomatoes, the hot dog link was minuscule, and I left hungry. In their defense though, everything else was great, and they do have access to the restaurant from the front and back of the strip mall which is nice. The décor definitely complimented the establishment, but I will say I came here for food and was rather disappointed. This place is not terrible, but there are better places to go for hot dogs in greater Chicago.
