I think I’m done with this place. I don’t know what happened to this establishment, but it went down fast! Too many commercials, at least half the chairs are broken, and the food is over-priced and lousy. The kids’ menu is the worst, and it’s a big gyp. When a 4-year old puts down the skinny, cold, frozen piece of cheese pizza and says, «This tastes yucky — I can’t eat it,» you know it’s pretty bad. I doubt we’ll be back, and that’s sad, because it used to be our favorite place to see everything.

Cool concept, bad execution. Be prepared to stand in a long line, then watch 30 minutes of loud commercials while you wait to place your order. They can’t get food orders taken or delivered in a timely manner, and they don’t really seem to care. It’s all chaos. We got a lot of excuses for an absolute disaster and all they were willing to do was discount the food or give a ticket refund. Manager was passive aggressive, putting it nicely. Didn’t seem to understand or care how bad of an experience it is to subject your customers to. I probably wouldn’t have been so furious if either the server or manager seemed genuinely empathetic or showed some appreciation of the bad experience. The responses were very canned«we’re doing the best we can do» was something I was told by multiple people, and I heard them say the same thing to other customers. I also had the manager tell me, when I told him I wouldn’t pay for the food that they were so behind in making, that«if I consume it I’ll pay for it.» Apparently other customers have been told the same. He said he’d give me a discount, but wouldn’t say how much. I got the money back for my ticket, but my evening was ruined. He also told me I was«going on and on» which really set me off. If the manager isn’t empowered to comp the meal or drinks for people who have to leave the theater, hunt him down, and ask for service, then it’s an ownership problem. If there are dozens of people working and nothing is getting done, then that’s management. If the printer failing can derail your whole operation, then your system is a failure. The manager may not be able to solve those problems on the spot, but ownership better if they care. And the manager needs to demonstrate that he gets it instead of modeling the worst form of customer experience, apathetic, robotic responses. I stayed in the guy’s face to try to get some sort of passion out of him, or some sign of actual interest, and he insulted me. Set up a reservation system so you don’t have to wait so long in line. Get better chairs that can recline without squeaking. Turn down the volume on the pre-preview commercials. Get some sort of orderly process for taking orders — and maybe a paperless system so the servers can send orders straight into the kitchen(and don’t have to take a couple orders, run to the kitchen, come back, etc.) Put numbers on the chairs so servers don’t lose track of orders and customers. Hire or train servers and managers who can show some sort of genuine care and don’t just spit out scripted responses. Don’t take your customers for granted, don’t make them wait so long, don’t make them wonder if they’ll ever get their food or drinks.

Amazing! There were only about 7 people in the theater, sound quality was great, food was reasonably priced, staff were friendly and attentive, and the parking lot was very ample. We will return again to use our buy one ticket, get one free!

This place has really gone downhill. The food use to be good — last 5 times… awful. The servers are awful… anything you ask for, you have to ask for at least 5 times. We’ve been going there for at least 4 years and we are done

Movie theater serving food and drink. Compared to the newer theaters with comfortable seating, this place is what it is for the price you pay.

Wonderful place. Really good and friendly staff. Probably the best you meet around. Loved the unique design of the theatre The only reason it gets one star less is because the sound quality felt a bit average. All in all Wonderful place and I’m surely going to keep visiting here.

Has gone downhill. $ 4 for a drink? Really? I was just there and the waitress brought the food and we never saw her again till the bill came. So $ 4 for a drink i was finished midway thru dinner. You no longer have to buy food to watch a movie. Ok, so how about don’t rip off your long term patrons who actually order your avg pub style food? Highly disappointed. ANDPLEASEPLEASEPLEASESOMEONEORDERTHESEATS… OMG. every movement by any person meant the loudest squeeks ever heard. Nails across a chalkboard. …

This is my favorite movie theater. I love the seating, the prices are nice and the drinks are strong. The daily drink specials are very nice, and they have coupons for free movies. The only problem here is service is hit and miss. I very often have to search for, wave down and specifically ask for everything needed such as drink and popcorn refills, service is almost never spot on attentive. But, overall, its still my favorite theater.

I had always thought that it would be a great idea to have a «dine-in» movie theater, but I never knew such places existed until heard about this theater. We came here to see«Deadpool» and enjoyed the food as much as the movie! My fiancé had the Attack of the Shroom Burger and I had Freddie’s Fingers and Fries. The waffle fries were the best. The server was very friendly but the food took such a long time to come out and it was a bit distracting to have them walking around and delivering food while the movie was playing. The«office chair» seats were not as comfortable as traditional movie theater seats or recliners but they were clean and adjustable. We both had a great time and will definitely be back.

This is one of my favorite places to see a movie in the area. Each theatre has its own theme some examples are looney tunes and indiana jones’ temple of doom. Once you walk in there is a bar where you can grab a drink before while you wait for your movie amd there is a small waterfall in the lobby. So there is never any harm getting there early for your movie. The only downside is that some of the drinks can be overpriced, but if you go during the week there are specials on the drinks. The seats inside the theatre are very comfortable. Each person has their own rolling chair. Each time I’ve been there I’ve never been disappointed with the food. Each entrée has its own quirky«hollywood» name. For example I really like the«whoopi goldburger» which is a cheeseburger, with bacon and their own barbecue sauce. They recently changed their menu and it seems they removed their crab rangoon which I used to highly recommend. The number of times I’ve been there the burgers were always good and I recently went with my girlfriend and she was also happy with her burger. I did try the pizza once and that was the one time I was extremely dissatisfied with their food. It had little to no sauce and there was not much flavor. The service is good. The waiters show up and take orders before the movie starts and then they come around about once or twice during the movie to see if anything else is needed. Then they drop off the bill about 45 minutes before the movie is over. The movie experience itself is pretty good. The screens are not gigantic, but they are big enough to adequately enjoy the movie. The last time I went there the sound was a bit too loud that I wanted to wear ear plugs, but that may have been just that one movie. FYI the tickets are cheaper than a usual movie theatre but there is a drink minimum.

I was looking for a movie theater to go see Deadpool. After not finding the time I wanted at a standard theater, I remembered this place. I was confused if I would be able to just sit here and watch the movie, without food. No problem! Went to a 3:15 showing on a Saturday afternoon SIXDOLLARTICKETS!!! I can’t speak about any of the food(because I didn’t have any). It was not too crowded(35 people total in the theater). The serving staff took orders and delivered food before the previews were over. The showing for the movie was in theater 7, which had a really cool Wizard of Oz theme. Really cool artwork! My only complaint was that it was not an HD screen. They probably are able to keep their prices low due to the fact that they don’t upgrade their screens. They might have them in another theater I missed, but I’m not sure. Also, all the chairs are computer type chairs. They aren’t bad, but I would have preferred comfy theater chairs. Probably not feasible with the service aspect, but yeah. The Hollywood Palms is a cool place. It’s got an island theme with waterfalls, too. I really enjoyed that as well. Looks like I will be heading here for my future movies! BONUS: They also gave a Buy one get one free to be used within one month. Pretty awesome.

This was a great place! I was pleasantly surprised. One of my teaching friends actaully works here as a server. The menu looked expansive and inexpensive! They serve alchool, too. I love the old movie posters and pictures of actors. Plus, the whole recreation of the theaters. I was in the«Wizard of Oz» theater which was awesome! They have some bar style chairs in the back and tables with oversized desk chairs for seats(plus they roll, which is awesome). The prices for food and movies are so cheap. I found my new go to theater for Dawn of Justice, Captain America CW, and Suicide Squad!

Def a great place. Cozy. Clean. Food was good. All American: burgers, fries, chicken strips etc. Booze too if you’re up for it. Not sure if they’re potent or not; didn’t have any. Went Saturday afternoon & not crowded at all. The service was great. Fast & friendly. I had a nice experience. Oh & fantastic movie: The Revenant! Just in time for it to win best motion picture drama @ the GGlobes.

Worst service ever! I ordered bosco sticks and they came out after our meals came. The chairs were so uncomfortable, my son fell through this open space in the computer chairs provided. My chicken sandwich didn’t come out until the last 30 minutes of the show. Everyone else had their meal that was in my party, I asked several times for my food. The waitress took off a WHOOPING $ 2 for the inconvenience. Didn’t like the long lunch style table for eating. I’ll stick to Studio Movie Grill for dinner and a movie. Best place ever, gear chairs and GOOD service.

This place is fantastic! I’ve had the luxury of being able to see everything behind the scenes and let me tell you, CLEANEST restaurant out there. The service is wonderful and almost seems like they are trained to specifically serve in the dark… during a movie. The food is amazing! My favorite is the super chicken with bacon, YUM! I highly recommend this family friendly restaurant to anyone looking for a break from the average dining experience. 5STARS!

Super swell if you like a table server auctioning off«Chicken fingers! who has the chicken fingers?» right behind you while you strain to hear the movie dialog. This is probably mostly a failure of the concept(maybe not Hollywood Palms specifically), but for real, despite some reassurances in their marketing that servers are quiet and discrete, the reality is that there are still people walking up and down the aisles, asking for refills, etc while the movie is playing.(If the waiters took down seat numbers – like they do in any restaurant better than Dennys – there would be no need to auction food aloud since food runners know which chair it goes to, but this wasn’t happening.) Since I’m a Being-Absorbed-Into-The-Movie type(I’d like to suddenly jar back to the reality that I’m sitting in a theater only after the credits start rolling), this is all wrong for me. I’m guessing a lot of others. Aside from the concept, Palms still has plenty it could fix: No seat reservations mean that instead of relaxing in the outside lounge we stood with 60 others in a long line to get in. There’s gotta be a better system. Bright spotlights were left brightly pointed at the screen during all the previews, washing out on both sides. Um, turn out the lights on the screen when you’re using it. In the theater, the seats really are some cheap Office Depot chairs on wheels. Almost laughed when I saw them. Fine at first, but relatively uncomfortable by the end of the movie. Men’s restroom was dirty and it was relatively early in the day. I’d guess I’d be up for another try if I was gonna see an action movie I didn’t get care about, and wanted a get a few beers with the guys while I did it(they seem to have a few craft beers on tap). But aside from that, this place is an automatic Skip It for me.

Love the décor and themes of this cinema. The food and service can be hit or miss. Different specials for each day of the week. They also host several entertainment-related events. It gets a three star rating due to the hit or miss of the food and service

This is based on a work outing here… I usually love this place, but for an outing, yikes it was bad. Back in 09 we had a work outing here and it was GREAT(the movie was not, anybody remember The Box?). They served us Pizza and Salad buffet style and then a waiter came by asking for Drink Orders. Everything went smoothly and although the movie stunk, everybody still had a good time. This year — YIKES. On paper it sounded great, we were going to pick from 5 basic dishes to eat. Chicken sammy, burger, veggie wrap, pizza, and a philly cheesesteak. Plus, everybody was getting a bag of popcorn. The minute people get there, they are hoovering their popcorn. We start our awards for work and SOME waiters are out taking orders. I ask if we can order alcohol and I am given this really weird answer of «well…uh… you would have to pay for it… and uh something to do with cards… I have to ask.» Is it that hard? Then food randomly starts coming out, and by random I mean somebody in the front row and then somebody in the middle of the room. There is no rhyme or reason, cause it isn’t even the same food orders.(i.e. Three girls behind me all ordered pizza, two came out and the third never came, they ended leaving after an hour wait). Pops come out with the ice melted. Food is cold. Food orders are wrong. Some people don’t get food until 2 hours later. My chicken sandwich was basically a burnt piece the size of my finger on a bun, it was pathetic. I did end up getting a glass of wine, but a different waitress took the order. Our original waitress never came back to check up on us. My guess is that these people were not ready for us. Next time, stick to the buffet option.

I like it here. My buddy works here. I think I’ve actually never paid to go here. Also, fun fact, I delivered the tile flooring here back when it was being built. So, you know I put my stamp on it… Anyways, theatres like this are fun, good experiences. I love that you can order alcoholic beverages. Usually the food isn’t the best quality, or they don’t have healthy options. Honestly, I don’t remember what is on the menu. I think the usuals, pizza, chicken fingers, fries, nachos, and more. I will definitely return here.

This is a very cool and very unique theater. Even for evening showings, the ticket prices are cheaper than they are at other theaters like AMC. Hollywood Palms already has the edge over the competition for just that reason alone! I will admit that Hollywood Palms is kind of far away from where I live. With bad traffic, it’s almost a 50-minute drive. However, the movie experience is very unique and fun. When you walk in, you feel like you’re being transported into a totally different world. There are tons of posters, costumes on display, etc from old movies. Even the bathrooms are move-themed! Also, each of the theaters has a different distinct theme. We came here twice and enjoyed two different themes. This really set the scene for an enjoyable movie-viewing experience. I felt like I was truly being transported to another location outside the suburbs of Chicago. The only reason I docked a point is because you’re required to order food if you come here. The ticket price is a little less than other theaters, and I believe they also have a bunch of specials based on the day of the week, so that’s great. If you come in knowing about the requirement to order something, then it really is fine. Also, the portions are pretty big, so that’s a huge plus(even if this is by no means gourmet). My only other complaint(also related to the food order requirement) is that it was a little bit distracting at times during the movie when the servers walk around taking orders, bringing food/drinks, and checking in on people. That being said, I’m definitely a self-described fan of Hollywood Palms, and I look forward to returning in the future!

I went in last night to see a movie(The maze Runner: scorch trials at 9:15) using my birthday coupon, may i remind you that i filled it out at PALMS. And i go in trying to have a good night with my friend celebrating my birthday. I go to redeem my coupon, and they tell me its invalid because they are not associated with BLVD anymore, it can only be redeem at BLVD. And they were just recently bought out in June. Excuse me for applying for my birthday and it happened to happen after they were bought out. If i wouldve known that my coupon was going to be invalid to the place that i applied at for, i wouldve reregistered again. I am very disappointed in this place, i am such a loyal customer and everytime i go see a movie, i go there. Also, our food was really cold as well. It had also came before the movie even started. Dont get me wrong, im glad the food came out, but it shouldnt have came out that early. I absolutely love the grinch dip and the chuck norris chicken. However, according to the menu if you get cheese on your sandwhiches it comes with two slices. I realized that everytime i have ever gotten the sandwhich is only came with one slice; even last night. 1 $ for only one slice when it saids two? My drink was very tastee however! I loved it. Although the custoner service was bad and the food was cold our waitress was great. She gave excellent service, kept up with our drinks, didn’t disturb us too much. She gave me the extra slice of cheese that i wouldve had to pay for anyways so i got my two slices. Very good waitress. Even though i was highly disappointed in everything i was not about to cut her from her tips. I really enjoy the food and the displays of all the different theaters and the beautiful waterfall in main lobby. I am disappointed however for not being able to redeem my birthday coupon at the place i signed up for it. Also, you always have to actually call the number because we have went there numerous of times based off the website hours and they were wrong. Their excuse was, our online times arent always right, you have to call. Then why do you have the times online? I have known that for awhile now, so i called last night and they didnt even give me the option of «Times for Monday, September 28th.». So i had to be transferred to customer service. However they did answer my questions and the information was correct This place is starting to go down hill. Will I go back? I am not positive. Maybe just for celebrity events from now on.

This is a pretty cool venue to enjoy a movie. Tickets are on the cheaper side, but you also have to order something off the menu. This differentiates Hollywood palms from other theaters– don’t come here if you’re not expecting to eat or drink during the movie! Trust me, the smell of others’ food will make you want to eat for sure. The décor kind of reminded me of a theme park show, which was actually awesome and made me feel as if I was a little kid again. However, you can definitely tell the quality of this place isn’t that great. Bathrooms smell terrible, and the seats are literally leather office chairs on wheels. A fun, unique experience for a movie, but not the nicest place.

You can eat, drink and enjoy a movie and all at a decent price. I have been going here since they opened and I have never been disappointed. The drinks are always good, they run specials during the week, the food is ok, better than fast food, and it is nicely decorated. Each dining room has a theme and it is always fun to see which one you will be in. I try to avoid this on a Saturday or Friday night because it can get extremely busy. I recommend going on a Sunday, less people.

What a cool theater! If I lived closer, I would definitely come here often whenever going to the movies. You feel like you’re being transported into another world when you come here to sees movie. That’s exactly what I like when going to the movies! The following are some pluses and«negatives»(there aren’t real negatives – just things I wasn’t necessarily a fan of) of my experiences here(I’ve been here twice so far and plan on returning sometime soon to see Mad Max): (+) + I absolutely love the creative décor here! You really feel like you’re on another planet. I love that escapism Hollywood Palms provides. The theater is filled with different posters, artifacts from different movies, etc. Each of the individual theaters within has a different theme. Most recently, we went to the Egyptian theme, which was SOCOOL! I absolutely love everything about the cool, entertaining atmosphere here. + Movie tickets are only $ 8! Sure, I understand the price is a little cheaper because you’re required to order an item, but still, not a bad deal! (-) — You are required to order something. I get that the prices are slightly less than at most movie theaters, which is a major plus(as outlined above), but it’s not worth having to order something. I usually go to the movies after dinner when I’m already done eating for the day. Otherwise, I also like bringing my own healthier alternative snacks with me. I ordered sweet potato fries when I came here last and they were certainly not the healthy choice! I would rather«spend» my calories on truly worthy unhealthy food. — The food is decent, but certainly not something to write home about. The prices, while not completely unreasonable, are also a bit steep for the quality you get.

Hollywood Palms creates a fun atmosphere to see a movie. The lobby indeed has palms and a myriad of movie posters and memorabilia. My favorite part of the lobby was the bar. There are actually two, but only one was operational since it was early in the day and no crowds. We were about 45 minutes early, so we decided to have drinks and appetizers at the bar. The house margarita was tasty and piña colada looked like a milkshake and was equally as good. The chicken quesadilla was better than expected. The beef nachos were just OK. The taco meat was dry and not very flavorful, and the cheese sauce had a weird buttery flavor. However, I really liked the salsa which delivered just the right amount of heat. The guacamole was good, not great. The movie ticket prices are cheap for a luxury theater, but you need to be prepared to get nailed on the food costs. I didn’t mind, since I went in knowing it would be a pricey affair. Our appetizer and drinks tab came to over $ 60, with the expectation of at least a 15% tip(suggested tip amounts are provided on the bill). The theaters all have fun themes(ours was«undersea») and you sit in basically what are nice office chairs at a table. I liked it for eating purposes and to have a place to put your cell phone, sunglasses, etc. There was no one seated around the 4 of us, so we could give ourselves some space. If it was crowded I could see how you might bump into neighbors due to the rollers on the chairs. Our wait staff was very friendly, although I wish they would have come around more often. By the time we ordered and got dessert, there was only 15 minutes left in the movie. The Jurassic pizza was very good, as was our Chevy Cheeseburgers. The bacon was actually cooked to perfection. My kids gave a thumbs up to the waffle fries. I had the onion rings which were very average… too much batter, not enough onion. My big suggestion for Hollywood Palms would be to become known for your food. People are obviously OK with paying a premium, so how about some signature dishes, home cut fries, etc. — make the food the focus. I plan to come back because it was fun, but I’ll probably cut back on my food spending because it was all good, not great, and not worth the nearly $ 200 I shelled out for appetizers, drinks, dinner and dessert. I will also comment that every staffer we encountered(ticket window, bartenders, ticket takers and wait staff) were all quite friendly. And the bathroom I used was clean(others here have reported some grossness).

Pros: Great ticket prices, lots of appeal in each theatre which is differently themed, friendly staff who gives efficient service. Cons: Average to below average food, weak mixed drinks, I was playing bumper cars with my date due to ill-fitting chairs in our seating area, and theatre is kind of hard to find! Bathrooms are a little grody when they go unchecked. That basically sums up my experiences coming here so far. I’ve had a chicken wrap previously that had super dry chicken in it, but came with tons of salsa and guac. On my latest trip I tried the Chevy Cheeseburger which was super cheesy, given a great a mount of bacon and was a lot better than expected. Tuesdays are ½ price margarita days– those things are weak little calorie bombs. I felt buzzed on sugar, if anything! Solid 3 star place, in my opinion.

SUCH a fantastic place. I was really skeptical before I went my first time. It didn’t seem like that great of an idea in my mind. Upon walking into the theatre, though, my mind completely changed immediately. The viewing rooms are set up so great that it makes you wonder why every theatre doesn’t do this. I can’t do the 5 star rating for a couple of reasons. First, the food isn’t SUPER high quality. When you’re presented with the idea of «movie and a show,» I think there is a bit of expectation for that food to be high quality. It’s pretty obvious that they drive a rather sketchy van over to the nearest GFS and buy the most bulk quantity of pre-formed hamburger patties they can get for the price. Second, the place is FREEZING cold. It’s probably some I/O psychology tactic to made your food go colder faster so you’ll buy more or something like that, but you NEED to bring an extra layer with you. On the plus side, it’s really pretty cheap. On a normal night, $ 6 for a movie, and about $ 10 for a plate of food(make sure you get a water to drink, though). Popcorn and candy are expensive as usual, but if you play your cards right, you can get a dinner and a movie for around $ 15.

Hollywood Palms is a fave local date night spot of mine. It’s a well-priced combo of drinks, food, conversation and entertainment. All of which the hubbie and I enjoy. For starters, it’s only $ 8 for a movie ticket. EIGHT. DOLLARS. I don’t know about you, but that’s the cheapest movie I’ll see anywhere nearby. Plus, every time I’ve been there they give us a coupon for buy one ticket get one free on our next visit — now said movie ticket is only FOUR. DOLLARS. #Winning(do people say that anymore?) I agree with the Unilocalers who stated having wait staff come around during the movie is distracting, so we usually just eat at the bar before hand and only order drinks during the movie which is easier. But — that is the name of the game folks, so if you really need to focus this may not be the spot for you. I love all the cool movie décor and the themed theaters(the Wizard of Oz theater being my fave). I’m also a fan of the daily drink specials they have. As for food, I’ve had their Spartacus blackened chicken caesar wrap, desperado(wrap which both come with chips), freddy’s fingers and fries, moe stix, and once upon a time quesadilla. The«previews»(starters) are honestly not the best(despite the creatively themed names), but I thought the«that’s a wrap“s were pretty good! Again, you’ll only find me eating before my movie. I’m not trying to do all that while I enjoy my cinematic adventure. If you’ve never been, definitely check it out. It’s a fun date night and a new experience!

The American movie theater experience is, well, an absolute clusterfuck, to be quite honest. But coming here is a reminder of the great times one might have had as a child falling in love with the magic of cinema. Besides a beautifully decorated lobby with real live palm trees, a lobby bar with an impressive selection of beverages(both non-alcoholic and otherwise), a full menu with fun themed snacks and entrees, individually themed theaters with the most comfortable chairs for dining as well as movie watching, there is the added bonus of meeting the stars of the films during the opening weekend for photos and autographs. I came last weekend for the première weekend of Sin City A Dame to Kill For, and met Rosario Dawson, who was sweet, charming, and very gracious. If that wasn’t enough, with every ticket purchase comes a voucher for another movie within 30 days. WHODOESTHATINTHISDAYANDAGE??? Especially with ticket prices so competitively priced to begin with? It’s a shame Naperville is such a hike for me. But if Eva Green ever comes for an opening, I am SO there…
