Last week I needed to order flowers for a client who was recovering from an illness. Being from out-​of-​state, I didn’t know who would be the best florist to call. I did some searching through Google, but also wanted to check out reviews on Unilocal.The June 14^th review for DLN caught my eye. It seems that DLN staff takes customer service seriously. The other reviews for the shop were positive as well, so I gave DLN a call.
I’m glad I did!
I placed my order with Darlene. She was very pleasant as we went over options, and I chose a «plant garden» arrangement. The cost she quoted was very fair, and the delivery to my client was made the same day. (I called mid-​afternoon so that was a nice surprise — she moved quickly to get the order delivered!)
My client told me that the arrangement was beautiful, and that she would be able to separate out the plants and keep them in her home. I was thrilled to hear that!
Darlene also followed up with an email, not only to send me a copy of my receipt, but to ask about MY business. It’s nice when business owners take a moment to get to know their customers.
But wait, there’s more! A few days later, I received a thank you card in the mail. Such a nice touch. DLN’s business card has been added to my Rolodex and you can bet that the next time I need to order flowers in the area she serves, I’m calling Darlene at DLN.

Could not recommend DNL more highly. This past Thursday evening, I placed a long distance order for a dear friend going through a very difficult time. The online ordering process was extremely user friendly. I was able to give information about the situation and style preferences. The arrangement was stunning and a great value for the size and quality of all the unique flowers (see Unilocal photos) and most importantly our friend was thrilled. They not only impressed me with their unique and beautiful arrangement, but blew me away with their customer service.
Long story short, when they went to deliver the arrangement the delivery person realized the recipient didn’t live there anymore. DNL immediately tried to get in touch with me by email and phone. Unfortunately, I was away from home when they called to let me know that they had the wrong address.
Apparently, I also gave them my home phone instead of my cell phone and I wasn’t checking email that afternoon. It was a Friday afternoon and they had weddings the next day so retrying delivery on Saturday would have been challenging if not impossible. The delivery person ended up talking with a neighbor who contacted my friend by Facebook and got the new address.
I didn’t think this type of customer service existed anymore. Talk about going above and beyond. I sent them an email thanking them for helping brighten our friends day and making me smile to know they cared enough to go through such hoops to help them get to her that day. Thanks so much DNL!!!

Darlene did the flowers for my wedding in May of 2012. They were GORGEOUS! Being my second marriage we didn’t have a huge wedding budget, but Darlene was fabulous to work with and I LOVED my flowers and so did all of my guests!

When I started to look for a florist for my wedding, I asked for s recommendation. When the recommended florist was booked on my wedding day, they recommended Darlene at DLN. Wow, did we ever luck out! You want this woman doing your flowers! She got me exactly what I wanted, helped me make even better decisions than I would have on my own and also stayed well within our budget. Darlene & DLN floral creations are amazing! When it came time to book our wedding florist, I took a chance planning long-​distance and went with DLN since our reception venue referred us to her. I had no idea what I was looking for, really didn’t realize how important flowers are on your big day… after all, I thought, flowers just die after the day is over… and really had no idea what to expect. Darlene blew me away at our consultation. Without having any clue what I thought I wanted, Darlene was able to show me pictures of different floral arrangements and read my facial expression to pin-​point exactly what I wanted. Her prices were reasonable for the amount of flowers we were ordering, and I felt completely confident in her ability to create something amazing when I left. Fast forward a few months to our big day and WOW! I have no idea how in the world she created something so perfectly «me» and so perfect for the style and mood of our day! We got so many compliments on our wedding flowers and now that we have our pictures to look at I realize how absolutely amazing they looked and how important the flowers are for setting the tone of any wedding. I would recommend DLN floral to anyone! Darlene and her employees are great, very warm and welcoming, and truly care about creating floral arrangements that are perfect for the customer. She was always easy to contact via phone or email, and I couldn’t be more excited with how everything turned out!

When a florist does a great job, they don’t just wow the customer. They wow the recipient as well. DLN did that and more.
I ordered a custom Get Well bouquet for my mother using DLN’s online ordering system. It was super easy. Only problem was it was to be delivered on the –40 degree day of «Chiberia.» Darlene contacted me *right away* to apologize and let me know that delivery might have to wait a day due to the extreme weather. While the delivery did in fact have to wait, it didn’t wait long. She made sure to delivery the bouquet at sunrise the very next day!!! My mom was surprised and thrilled. She sent me the most wonderful text, which is also a testament to DLN:
«FLOWERS!!! What a great send off before I go under the knife. They are absolutely beautiful. The hospital staff even asked for her business card. It’s huge and just beautiful.»

Wow! Darlene from DLN Floral Creations was amazing! Her energy and excitement about my wedding was wonderful, and she was always available to answer questions or talk through ideas when I needed her. She took my vision for the flowers and centerpieces and made it more than I could have even imagined. The day of the wedding she delivered the flowers to my house early and made a second trip to drop off the boys flowers before setting up the reception centerpieces. My flowers were amazing, and even my photographer commented about how stunning my bouquet was. I was blown away by her attention to detail and I was absolutely in love with everything that she touched.

My husband bought me flowers for our anniversary from DLN Floral Creations, and had them delivered to our home in Downers Grove. The service was fabulous, the flowers themselves are stunning and smell incredible, and the delivery man was so kind. We tried to give him a tip, but he politely declined. What a great experience all the way around. Highly recommend this florist!

Even though it’s been more than a year since I’ve used DLN, I wanted to make sure I put a review in for this business. I used them for a Valentine’s Day bouquet and it was perfect.
I ordered it through their website, got a very prompt reply letting me know that they received my order and confirming when and where I wanted it delivered.
When the flowers arrived they were much larger than I expected them to be and they were beautifully arranged. In terms of arrangement, I thought it was a wonderful combination of being a contemporary arrangement while still having all the traditional touches you see from a florist.
I want to emphasis how large the arrangement was. The reason I’m mentioning this is, at first, I thought they were slightly higher in price than other florists. But, they completely over-​delivered in terms of quality and arrangement. You might be able to get the same type of arrangement for a few dollars less elsewhere, but it’s very obvious why they were $ 5 – 10 more than everyone else. The flowers were large, beautiful, and expertly arranged.
Having used a number of florist in the Naperville area, after my previous experience with them, I’m sticking with the DLN from now on.

Although I haven’t used DLN, I chose not to for my wedding based on
their prices. Based on my research and meetings with other florists, most florists charge about a 10% fee for delivery and set up. DLN quoted me $ 800 for delivery and set up which was more like 30%. Either she is way overpriced for delivery and set up or she really didn’t want my business.
