We walked into this Big Apple Bagel and were unfortunately very disappointed this is not a «true» Big Apple Bagels. I have been to many of them all over WI and IL and I have never seen this menu before. This location is very small. More of a take out than an «eat in» and they don’t have any of the speciality sandwiches you normally find like the Mediterranean Veg Out and Holy Guacamole. So if you’re looking for the normal menu you will not find it here. I was about to give in and order some thing I did not recognize but they only take cash. We left and drove to the one in Aurora! Yes I know I’m crazy but I was really craving it ! Bummer ! Thumbs down !

I came in on my way to work today and after I had ordered my bagel I forgot that they only accept cash. I felt really bad and told him that I would have to go get cash and be right back but he smiled and told me that it was alright and to just pay next time and give me a receipt. That’s grade A service right there. I’ll be back after work today. Thank you!

Best bagels in Naperville. Hands down. The two guys that run the place are great and they start almost every one on my business days with a smile, coffee and a wonderful Salt or Pumpernickel bagel…

I love NY bagels and ever since having them in NYC, I’ve missed them. These may not be exactly the same, but they’re pretty close. The cream cheese is the best.

Best bagels you around! The people owner is so friendly even when I see him somewhere like the grocery store he’ll say hello. I’ve been going there for almost a decade and have never been disappointed. The early you get there the fresher the bagels you get! You can never go wrong with the everything bagel and veggie cream cheese. The bagel had just the right amount of salt and is easily the best bagel I’ve had hands down. If you don’t like that the sesame bagel with cheddar bacon cream cheese is also a great choice! Who ever said you couldn’t have both though?

How did I not know this place has been here for 20 years? Great tasting fresh bagels, and they’re less than 5 min. away. Love a good Pumpernickel with butter and a couple scrambled eggs and Sesame was a great match for my Hazelnut Spread I have from Ghyslain Chocolatier. I plan on another visit soon, perhaps a Thursday and load up the freezer. Love how they give you instructions to keep your bagels fresh. Never thought it was best to slice before freezing and not to thaw before toasting. My bagels have to be toasted! Their lunch sandwiches are on my radar. too. Super nice customer care and good to see the baker has been around for 12 years and makes everything on premise.

Ugh the poor reviews are frankly not fair. This is not subway and don’t expect super fast service. They have a small lunch crowd but the REAL focus is bagels. If you know bagels then this is a great option. But If you want an amazing lunch menu … Hit up Panera or similar place. I love this bagel shop it’s the closest thing to New York bagels in Chicagoland. Friendly staff and always with a smile. Yes they will run out from time to time but that’s ok. I’d rather see a small business owner be frugal versus wasting product. Bring your cash because they don’t except credit cards. Every few months they will call me when they make jalapeño bagels.

I really don’t know why so many bad reviews. I’ve been here a couple of times and each time the bagels have been soooo good. My favorite is the Cheddar Bagel with Jalapeño cream cheese. It’s always toasted nicely and plenty of cream cheese. It’s cash only by the way.

Honestly, I don’t know why this place got such poor reviews. I love this Big Apple Bagel. It is definitely not like the other chain Big Apple Bagels, which I don’t quite understand since it has the same name and logo. Their menu and prices are very different, but for the better! They are cheaper and they have different bagels and sandwich options. Every time I go in here, the employees are so nice! I think there are only like three guys that work there. I go there a lot and they are always so happy when you walk in and immediately ask you how you are and how your day is going. I’m so indecisive, so even though I frequent this place often I still like to take my time looking at the menu and all the different kinds of bagels and different kinds of cream cheese(sooo delicious by the way). They never rush me. When I’m ready to order, they make sure they ask a lot of questions so that they get everything just the way I like it. Do you want any extra toppings? Do you want the bagel toasted? Do you both cream cheese on both sides of the bagel or only one side? Can I substitute anything for you on the sandwiches? Would you like something to drink as well? These guys are so freakin nice. Let me tell you just how nice they are. My mother lives in Oswego. Although she has a few Big Apple Bagels between her and Naperville, she makes the haul all the way out here just because of how good this place is. She loves their Californian salted bagel sandwich(comes with avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion, alpha sprouts, and turkey). Her first time here, she forgot that they don’t take cash and she only had her debit card on her. The guy had already made her sandwich and everything and he told her«Don’t worry about it, take the sandwich and pay me the next time you come in here». She’s like, «Are you serious? There is a bank just down the street I can come right back.» and he said to her, «Naw don’t worry about it. I trust that you’ll come back. Just bring the money then.» Needless to say, she still went to the bank and came right back with the money for the sandwich because she felt bad but who does that at food places anymore these days? No one! That was just a really kind thing for him to say and do. Anyways, I love the bagels. I love the cream cheese, I love their sandwiches. On holidays they always do cool things with the bagels also. On valentines day they made heart bagels. On st patrick’s day they dyed the bagels green. They also sell party platters with bagel pieces and dipping sauces or cream cheese. Such a neat idea! The only reason I didn’t give this place five stars is because it is nothing special on the inside and because paying with cash is a real pain in the rear. I never carry cash with me so I always have to write them a check, which they still gladly accept. The shop itself is simple bagel store, with little to no décor and I don’t think there is any seating in there except for maybe two chairs by the window. I usually go in, get my bagel sandwiches and leave anyways so that doesn’t matter all too much to me. But this place is seriously great. I love it!

I like the guys who run the place and their bagels will do in a pinch. Their cream cheese is quite good. Their bagels are average. They have a great variety of bagels, some of which are unique and inventive. My kids love the french toast bagel. But they don’t know any better. Folks, I mean this in the nicest way possible, but if you think that they have great bagels you need to find a real bagel. Why? A real bagel should be par-boiled and then baked. Not many people do this anymore. It’s labor-intensive. But it gives you a properly dense, chewy bagel with a crisp exterior. These guys, like most others, steam-bake their bagels. It’s a step up from Jewel where they sell you round bread with a hole in it and call it a bagel, but it just doesn’t cut it. I’ll go further and say that this is complete bu!! sh!t. If you’re a bagel shop, man up and do it right. Like the German beer purity laws, I wish there were requirements that to call something a bagel it had to be done right. At that, I imagine, is the first and last time you will ever hear the words«German,» «Purity,» and«Bagel» in the same Unilocal review. Please, people. Do yourself a favor. Educate yourself and demand more. It’s only once we all rise up against the fake bagel(thanks, Murray Lender, you race-traitor) it’s only once we stand up and demand to be counted that we will get the bagels we deserve.

Best Bagels in Naperville! I’ve been coming here for over 10 years. This is the last Big Apple Bagel that doesn’t go by its franchise(which is why its the best). The bagels are HUGE, the cream cheese is homemade and awesome. I looove the veggie, chocolate chip, and cheddar bacon! YUM! If this place closed down I would cry for days :) It’s a little corner store in Naperville that just says«hot bagels» on the front, but you have to remember that they only take cash or check. Yes, they do things the old way but the good way… I will never stop coming here. This is truly the best place for fresh bagels!

Not so great. Mediocre service, mediocre food, and the prices aren’t great. I live right around the corner and would not go back here. Also the shop is kind of weird and dirty

I live close by so I decided to try a bagel here. I had the chocolate chip bagel and it was ok not great. I normally go to Great American Bagel and the Chocolate chip bagel there is amazing no matter what time you go! I will probably just stick to them
