This is some GREAT sorbet! I try to eat sorbet since it is lighter than ice cream(no milk)… and I have to say that this is the best sorbet I’ve ever tasted. I’ve been at the Oxbow farmers market in Napa a few times and try to always stop for a scoop. The guy who makes the sorbet is really nice and friendly and he uses fresh organic ingredients. I had the chocolate which I love, and there is this amazing coconut(he has all these unique and fun names for each flavor that I’m not able to remember). I don’t really tend to eat coconut but love the coconut sorbet here. And there are really good fruit flavors too– which my daughter likes.

My husband and I were in Napa over the weekend(drove up from Stanford) for a good friend’s wedding and stopped by the Saturday Napa Farmer’s Market. I’m never one to pass up homemade ice cream/gelato/sorbet, so we got a chocolate and a peach. They were both FANTASTIC! I’m a mega chocolate and chocolate product snob and I found the chocolate sorbet to be perfectly balanced – not too sweet, not too acidic, intense chocolate flavor, wonderful fudge-like consistency… I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I appreciated the intense chocolate flavor the most because most chocolate ice cream/gelato/sorbet, even those marketed as «dark» or «intense»(or something similar), barely taste like chocolate to me. The peach was perfect too, however I let my husband eat most of that flavor because, for me, there’s no point in consuming a dessert unless it involves chocolate. It was clear from talking with Robert, the owner, that he deeply cares about the product he produces and puts tremendous effort into it… and it certainly shows. Napa isn’t too far from us(~1.75−2 hrs), so we will drive up at some point with a cooler of ice to bring several pints home. However, we certainly hope that Sweet Peabody’s will one day be offered in the SF Peninsula(or even in SF).
