While lunching, my friends ordered a jalapeño chardonnay. I didn’t get one, but I tried theirs, and it was a hit all around. Slightly spicy and very different. It kind of reminded me of nachos. When we talked to the server about it, he said there were other interesting varieties and that we could buy them at Lawler’s. Always up for an adventure, we decided to take a gander. Driving up, we saw signs for vhs rentals. We thought this was funny and inquired about it inside. It was, of course, an old sign. We also asked about the wine, but we could only find two varieties — a white and a red. My friend bought the red and I got the white. We figured they would be interesting to bring to gatherings. On the way out, I also got a small order of the ravioli and malfatti. We ate those back at the room, and they were wonderful. We’ll have to come back and get more next time!

We were joining our friends for a small group bible study dinner and the theme was Italian food. Having heard that Lawler’s had the best fresh ravioli in the area, we ordered up 5 dozen. Lawler’s is a liquor store, but they have an entire Italian food take-out area inside the store. My wife picked up the order of raviolis along with some malfatti too. Our small group absolutely loved the raviolis and malfatti. If you enjoy raviolis and want good quality fresh bean salad and garlic bread, then give Lawler’s Liquors a try.

I love their raviolis! Their garlic bread is delicious as well. Everything is very reasonably priced. This is my go to place when my Italian side is craving raviolis!

Much alcohol. Such wow. 10⁄10 Seriously, if you are looking to forget who you are and wake up in a dumpster the next morning this is the place to pick your poison. The guy behind the counter was extremely helpful.

This is the place to go for any kind of liquor you might be looking for. They seriously have it all and if they don’t have what you’re looking for they’ll try and get it for you. You can’t find that kind of service anywhere else. The owner/cashier helped me pick out their best bottle of tequila. He even gave me a 10% discount when I told him that my family had been shopping here for over 20 years. I’ll definitely be returning to Lawler’s when I’m in need of more alcohol… which will be soon.

Don’t be detoured by the looks because after all looks can be deceiving. Yes it is a liquor store but it is something way more. They offer Homemade Italian food to-go that is affordable and delicious. The Ravioli and Malfatti is the best and they have garlic bread to compliment your meal. So what are you waiting for? Pick up a bottle of wine and ask for a dozen Ravioli and Malfatti, You want be disappointed.

Oh boy,…I really wanted to love this place. The old New Yawk red gravy and submarine sandwich loving childhood of mine really really wanted to enjoy this place but it was badly over rated and sort of a hassle. I brought Tupperware to avoid the up charges they tag to your bill for the container they put your food in and even the bag they put your sandwich in but was shamed into leaving them in my car by the Mrs. We got a dozen ravioli and a dozen mulfatti which they dumped into one large container. The sauce was tasty but very greasy and all of the pasta was soooo overly cooked that it had the mushy consistency of Chef Boy Ardee and Raviolio’s — gummy, mushy and bland. The veal sub was actually good but it was simply veal on a portion of a loaf of bread(good bread but just that veal on a bare roll). When I joked to the man making me the sandwich that I wanted«some extra love» on my sub,…he thought I said grated Parma cheese and they actually added a buck for that sprinkling of grated cheese on my sandwich? Odd. No plates, a couple of forks and a few napkins tossed in our 10cent bag w the 55cent paper box for the pasta and we were sent on our way. That loaf of bread we ordered never came w the food, alas we went to a local park and messily ate out meal, and that greasy sauce kept revisiting me the rest of the day… All and all we won’t be back. I like my pasta al Dante and although it is easy to tire w all the overpriced and pretentious restaurants in Napa and yountville,…this didn’t prove to be the antidote I was seeking. Still on the hunt. Gracie,…nonetheless, nice try but no Bueno.

Lawler’s is one of three recommended places in Napa to get great Italian food to go, the other two being Genova and Clemente’s. Oddly, my two favorites, Lawler’s and Clemente’s, are both not much more than takeout windows located inside liquor stores! Both Lawler’s and Clemente’s offer essentially the same fare, including malfatti(basically a malformed ravioli), ravioli, minestrone, spaghetti, bean salad, and garlic bread. Lawler’s also offers sandwiches and lasagne. I usually go to Clemente’s because it is located near downtown Napa while Lawler’s is situated more remotely north of town on Jefferson St. Both have really good food, and both offer that uniquely Napa-Italian concoction, the malfatti. Both have similar pricing and charge extra for packaging(you can bring your own containers, and many do, to avoid the container fee). The main difference in terms of taste is in the sauce: Lawler’s sauce has more of a red tomato base while Clemente’s sauce is brown with a thicker consistency. Both are tasty and so the choice is a matter of personal preference. I have tried the malfatti, ravioli and bean salad at both places and in my opinion Clemente’s has a slight edge in terms of taste and quality. 3.5 Stars for Lawler’s, you’ll find me at Clemente’s more often than Lawler’s!

I needed an obscure item for a Friday night birthday party, and these guys made it happen in under 24 hours. I continue to love this place, best liquor store EVER!

I love this place. I have been buying malfatti(finger-shaped pasta dumplings) and the occasional after-work diet soda for years. So freaking good, my face is tingling just thinking about their unparalleled bolognese. And the guys here are so nice. I mean really nice. I don’t even know how, since they also serve a ton of students from the high school across the intersection(and I know how ungrateful some of them can be…). I call ahead and order malfatti by the dozen and cart them home for dinner at least four times a year. I should do it more often. A Napa specialty. Those of you visiting should take a couple of cartons back to your respective hotel rooms.

Lawler’s is a family run, Napa institution. Peter and George are great, and they have the best prices in town on a wonderful selection of booze. Where this place truly shines is the amazing homemade take-out Italian food. Their Ravioli and Malfatti in house made meat sauce is so addictive and delicious. Garlic bread, bean salad, soups and spaghetti. This is our go to for yummy homemade Italian fare.

No, you’re not in the wrong place(not that being in a liqueur store could ever be considered wrong;)…there is great italian food in here! A friend told me about the malfatti and ravioli and I just had to try it! So delicious and the sauce is the bestest… very old school. I love finding lil local spot like this and I highly recommend checking out out when you want some good rav!

You really cant get better from this place. My father introduced me to Lawlers 30 years ago and they are still going strong. Peter and George are the best. They have always gone out of their way to help me out and order whatever I need if they dont have it, which is a rarity. Dont let me forget to touch on the food. Hasnt changed since… ever! Delicious every single time. I almost wish there were more places like this here in Napa but that would just take away from the lustre and ambiance of such a cool place. Thanks Peter and George!

Amazing liquor store. Stocks all your standards plus unusual varieties. I bought a bottle of organic, cucumber-infused vodka. The owner/guy behind the counter was friendly, outgoing, and considerate. Helped me pick out a great mixer(well stocked in this department too, with high-end ginger beer, bitters, you name it). Definitely going back, and grateful to discover such a find right here in downtown Napa on Jefferson Street. In spreading the word, i found out from locals that they’re a long-time ‘family’ establishment and they serve amazing food too!
