Todd was great at educating us about wines! There was good variety in the tasting, and we were even shown a few outside of the one we signed up for. The wines were mostly on the dry side which is how we like them. Definitely will be back.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Judd’s Hill. We were only in Napa for a day and this was our favorite place we visited. The place is beautiful and the staff are wonderful. In addition to the wine’s being delicious we had a wonderful experience during the wine tasting. Todd walked us through each of the wines we tasted. He taught us about the history of the winery and played wine trivia with us throughout the whole tasting. He was very attentive and catered to our group wonderfully. He even took the time to set aside some wine corks for me to take home. We purchased several bottles and their BBQ sauce and it was very affordable. The whole experience was the highlight of our trip to Napa. I would highly recommend Judd’s Hill. You can book in advanced but Todd made sure to mention they do everything they can to get you in for tasting regardless. Wonderful place!

Fantastic profile wines in a comfortable and inviting environment where you’ll be treated right and not rushed! Their rose is 50⁄50 zin and Syrah and incredible. Their reds and whites are as equally impressive and their staff just as knowledgable. Custom crush and wines are done here so definitely check them out!

My friends and I were in Napa for a wedding and figured we should do a wine tasting before we headed back to San Francisco. We turned to our trusty Unilocal apps and found Judd’s Hill! We didn’t book in advanced, but fortunately they were able to accommodate us. We didn’t realize how small the winery was until we got there, but it was actually very lovely. Todd walked us through the history of Judd’s Hill, all the different wines, and even quizzed us on facts about grapes and winemaking. Their wines were fantastic so né of our friends decided to join their wine club, so he comped our tasting! Overall it was a fantastically relaxing afternoon. I would recommend booking in advanced because they’re so small, but I would highly recommend coming to Judd’s Hill!

Come here just to meet CJ! She is the sweetest, most knowledgeable person we have met in Napa. She made my husband and I feel welcome. It was clear we were there to learn, she didn’t make us feel silly for asking questions– I was even able to take some tips and notes from her. Come to Judd’s hill for some great wine, great company and great tasting education! Thank you CJ!

This is a gem of a winery! I came here with a bunch of friends back in February and all of us loved coming here. We did a group tasting and we got to sample 5 wines while the GM of the winery taught us so much about Napa and wine in general. It was rainy, so we did the tasting in the warehouse, but the grounds are very beautiful and definitely worth a visit on a nice day. The wine is very, very good, especially the Charbono, which was my favorite. I enjoyed this much better than other wineries in the area and would definitely recommend this if you’re in Napa!

Judd’s Hill was our first stop coming into Napa… and thanks to Todd, it was by FAR the most amazing, educational, and fun times that we had! Since the weather was amazing, we had our tastings outside and time literally flew by! Todd guided our tastings like the pro that he is– he educated, entertained, and conversed with us the entire time. So well so, that every winery we visited over the remaining three days of our trip we compared that particular winery to Judd’s Hill and the experience Todd gave us. There was not any other person that we met who could even hold a candle to Todd. Next time we return, our first stop will be Judd’s Hill(and looking for Todd)!

Amazing place Great pours — good size. THISPLACEHASTHEBIGGESTPOURSFORTHEPRICEINNAPAVALLEY. Todd was a great host — knowledgable honest and entertaining. We both learned so much. Leave a good tip. He is wort it. Great seating on the patio with heat lamps if weather is cool. Or sit inside. They have chickens on the side :-) It’s quiet and peaceful here. Very relaxing. The Charbono was excellent in early 2016. As was the Petite Syrah.

This was a very intimate tasting experience. My guest and I with one of the wine educators. We were able to taste many of their fabulous wines and really get a feel for their wine and the wine making process. They also offer a wine blending day camp that I will have to do in the future.

Fabulous experience. Our host, Todd, was knowledgeable and chatty. Lots of «pop quizzes» to test our wine knowledge – we did okay. :-) Perfect for a leisurely, unhurried tasting experience. We split two types of tastings, 5 types of wine each, and they waived both fees when we bought 3 bottles. The reserve Cabs were the highlights – balanced, scrumptious, just delicious. They pair a zin with their house-made BBQ sauce, which was also a treat. Reservations only, so be sure to call ahead – but we easily got a reservation with 15 mins advance notice on a gorgeous November Sunday afternoon. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend stopping by Judd’s Hill on your Napa day trip! Judd’s Hill is such a cute, family-owned winery with impeccable wine and familial service. Todd, our fantastic guide, customized our tastings to exactly what we were craving. And boy let me tell you — when you have a family as picky as mine, these cravings can be all over the place! He was incredible and also walked us through several viticulture and winemaking fun facts throughout our tasting experience. Our favorite wines are the two different dessert wines(the port and the roussanne), the estate pinot noir, the old vine zin(they give you a cool BBQ sauce tasting to go along with it!), and the merlot. I love their style of wine making — gentle flavor profile versus the big and bold tannin-ridden kind. It’s a really versatile wine that can be consumed with cheese, with seafood, with meats or simply al fresco. The view from the outdoor patio is sensational. They also allow tastings in their cellar/production area — it provides for an intimate and really educational tasting experience. Thus, on our next trek out to wine country, consider adding Judd’s Hill onto your itinerary — you won’t regret it. Happy Drinking, Unilocalers!

This was a very quaint winery, A mon and pop place with very personal service. We did a tasting and Todd was our server or guide should I say and he gave us some great information and the history of the winery and of Napa, he was fantastic. He brought us a white wine first, we said we preferred red and he brought some excellent ones to taste, very accommodating. We had very relaxing time, thanks again.

The BF got us a Groupon for the Wine Tasting and Pairing class and I am so glad he did, because I had never heard of this place before. We had to cancel a few times due to schedule conflicts, but were able to reschedule. We finally made it up on Memorial Day. We got there a little early so we took some pictures by some the vines. CJ, the wine educator, saw us approach and let us in right away. This little family owned winery is adorable! They have the founder’s art on the walls and even have a commemorative wine honoring him with his art on the bottle obviously called founder’s art. CJ is incredibly knowledgeable and made us wine newbies feel so comfortable. We tasted 5 different wines and there were 8 different«foods» to pair the wine with. I was so surprised that the food pairings either enhancing or diminishing the wine — I had only had a wine pairing at one other restaurant so there was really no way for me to compare what the wine tasted like without the full spectrum of tastes(sweet, salty, bitter, sour, umami) — if that makes any sense. It was a great learning experience with information that we will definitely use at home. We were there with another couple so we had plenty of time to ask questions and engage with CJ. I’m not gonna like, I got tipsy by the time we left. I’m not much of a drinker, but I’m sure drinking in the morning on an empty stomach didn’t help! We had a fabulous time and definitely recommend this place!

We were out for a short bike ride yesterday and decided we’d stop at the first winery we came to on the Silverado Trail. Lucky for us, the first winery was Judd’s Hill. This is such a friendly and layed-back place, where they really take time to share their delicious wines and tons of great information about winemaking, Napa and how to get the most out of your visit. They even recommend other wineries throughout the valley, as places to visit while on your trip. Their wines are very good, relatively inexpensive and I really like their BBQ sauce! Also, of all the wineries we could have stopped at, we learned this is the place that stocks the house wines at the Hollywood Magic Castle, where I was a regular member(R3847) for nearly 30 years. What a coincidence! Evidently the owner is a magician and longtime member of the Castle himself. Sorry we missed him, but we will be back. Bought 9 bottles, including some«Magic» and«Prestidigitation.»
