Fume Bistro & Bar

1^st time here @ Fume, in Napa. Went during Happy Hour on Valentine’s Day. Bar was completely full. Except for 2 chairs at the bar, waiting for us to sit & use. Fume has great selection of wines to choose from. You must be in the bar to partake in Happy Hour prices. I was excited to use the Unilocal coupon. We were surprised that we could not order an appetizer off the menu for the Unilocal coupon. Our server «Austin» said the kitchen would fix an appetizer for us, for the Unilocal coupon. We got what the other Unilocal coupon users got — Fume’s flatbread. Not too shabby. We also ordered the calamari. Crispy treats of calamari, soft in the center. That’s what we ate. Would’ve like to have eaten dinner there, but we filled up on the Unilocal & calamari appetizers. I look forward to going back sometime in the future. I didn’t walk through the whole place. I’d like to do that next time, too.

I would have loved to give this place 4 starts, but the food just didn’t cut it. We came here for V-​day dinner, I loved that they didn’t do some overpriced pre-​fix menu.
We sat outside on the patio, lovely weather in February to enjoy the warmth. We brought our wine, and the waiter was a bit surprised I asked to have it decanted, it was a cab.
We head the pear salad, and oysters to start. The oysters were great, fresh and hit the spot. The salad was nice, but it was a salad, so nothing too special.
I had the short rib risotto, and my husband had the fillet. My dish was great, nice sauce and meat, well executed and nice portion.
The steak was not great, they cooked it right but the meat itself was chewy and not the filet we expected, for $ 45 and in Napa we did expect better.
We shared the cheesecake for dessert, it was nice but again nothing wow about it, the cherries on top looked like they came out of a jar.
While I didn’t expect gourmet orgasmic food from this place, they should have a better steak and maybe a few better appetizers to choose from.

All around wonderful experience! This is the second time I’ve been here. We did lunch this time. Ordered the calamari with the chipotle aioli. Yum! We ordered the chopped chicken salad and the chicken BLT sandwich. The flavor is hard to explain because it’s so good! Chicken has such good flavor, not dried out at all. One of the best salads I’ve ever had! And the onion rings are crispy and wonderful too! Our server was the bartender, Adam, who was so friendly and nice! We will definitely be back!

To say my evening was splendid is an understatement. From start to finish, the experience at Fume was FANTASTIC! Patrick, our knowledgable, generous and kind waiter, provided us with the most enjoyable eating experience we have had in a LONG time.
Recommendations: pork chop — perfectly cooked! And the lemon cheesecake with blueberry compote was the perfect ending of a perfect meal. Bring your own bottle like us and enjoy a full Napa experience!

I really enjoyed the meal. The Kobe beef was delicious with a perfect pinot noir. I will return on a night that the head chef is in.

Always a great spot. We’ve been going here for 15+ years for lunch and dinner. We also used them for Thanksgiving when they used to prep a whole dinner for take out! Wow was that easy! Too bad they don’t do that anymore. We were one of the FIRST on their list every year to reserve a thanksgiving meal for take out.
Funny, at the bottom of this page I’m looking at when I wrote this review it asked if the restaurant was good for kids… well it’s good for WELL MANNERED KIDS. It’s not chuck e cheese! HaHa

Whether you’re going for brunch, lunch or dinner Fume is a nice quiet spot in Napa to get a bite to eat. I came in for lunch with my coworker and we were greeted by the host. She asked if we’d prefer sitting inside or outside. It was a bit chilly but they have heaters on their patio outside so we decided we’d sit outside. It was so nice. They turned on the heater for us and sat us right by their fireplace. It did get a little warm after being there for a while but our waiter was incredibly sweet and let us know that she’d turn it off or on as many times as we’d like.
Thanks to Unilocal we received a free appetizer which is the pulled chicken flatbread with tomatillo salsa, smoked cheddar, gypsy peppers and Aleppo chili. Definitely recommend you try it even if it isn’t free through Unilocal.It was perfect for two people. I ordered the braised short rib risotto and I can’t explain how amazing this is. The braised short rib melts in your mouth and it gets better after each bite. I love the asparagus and mushrooms it comes with and of course the shaved Parmesan cheese too. Highly recommend you try it! You won’t regret it.
The location isn’t ideal because it isn’t located in downtown Napa. But, trust me you’ll thank me later. They are worth checking out!

I had dinner tonight at Fume. I found the quality of food has gone down, while the prices have gone up.
One plate was cold, while others tasted poorly. Veggies tasted burned. People who work here don’t seem happy. They helped us but without a smile or real interest.
The one highlight was a drink from the bar that tasted very good.
I don’t have any urge to go back soon.

A little on the pricey side, but overall, it was pretty good. The restaurant was calm and quiet, and the bathroom was clean. The service was pretty slow even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. We went in an hour before closing and left after they closed, but they were quick to refill our waters and take our plates away.
I went in with a couple of friends around 8:30 after the dinner rush. We got the Unilocalitizer flat bread to start with. The restaurant gave it to us for free for checking in on Unilocal and that came out pretty good. For our entrees, we all ordered something different and were all delicious. I had the spicy shrimp fettuccine. So good. It had a good blend of flavor, shrimp and spice. It was also a good size, so I didn’t feel overstuffed when I finished my food. For dessert, we shared an apple crisp something or other with vanilla ice cream on top. That, too, was amazing. This place is yummy. Come if you’re in the area. It’s worth it.

We were staying at the hotel down the street and decided go to Fume to grab a drink and some appetizers.
We just took a seat at the bar and ordered a moscow mule, pear martini, calamari, and Unilocalitizer (free appetizer with Unilocal check in!)
The drinks were delish. The free flatbread we got was caramelized onions and bleu cheese. Perfect snack to soak up the alcohol for a whole day of wine tasting. The calamari was decent.
Service was friendly and prices are reasonable!

Came here last minute for Thanksgiving dinner. They had a great prix-​fixe menu for $ 55 including an appetizer, main course, and dessert.
For our appetizers, we tried the butternut squash soup and the iceberg wedge salad with bacon and fried capers. The soup was hearty and filling, and the salad was surprisingly flavorful and crispy with the addition of 1000-​Island dressing.
Our main courses consisted of a turkey dinner with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and vegetables, and a flat iron steak. The steak was juicy and cooked just right, and the turkey dinner was enormous and satisfying.
Finally, for dessert, we both had the chocolate cake with ice cream, which was profanely rich and gave us both severe guilt trips.
The only ding on our Fume experience was our drink order; both the pear martini and margarita we ordered were a bit too strong for our tastes, and neither one of us finished our drinks.

The attitude of the host makes it very clear you need to have a reservation. I have been here four times, and every time greeted with the same reservation question no matter how empty the place is.
The last time we went we were told a party of 6 would have a two and a half hour wait– even though the restaurant was half empty and the patio was completely empty. Not coming back– the food and attitude is not worth it.

Having been unable to find an affordable
Sunday brunch spot in Yountville, we decided to head down the road to give this place a try. By the time we got there we were HANGRY, and they didn’t disappoint. 5 types of Bloody Mary, a great menu, and fabulous specials. Ambience is just so-​so, but made up for by the fact that there was no wait and we left fed and happy. Short rib Benedict was sublime, as was the smoked salmon scramble special.
Yum!

Very pleasantly surprised by Fume. Weird location in a residential neighborhood next to the highway, but Unilocal didn’t steer us wrong. We enjoyed the friendly service, reasonably priced menu, and relaxed atmosphere out on the patio.
The flatbreads are good and the friends were perfectly done. The beet salad was good, but a little light on the beets. We will be back for sure, nice to have this option fairly close by.

Can’t wait to have the short ribs. Awesome!!!
This time we brought friends they are so going to enjoy their meals.

We were directed here by our friends at Bialle winery and they did not steer us wrong. We started our meal with the free Unilocal appetizer which was awesome. Don’t forget to check in and show your server. It was Friday and the special was fried fish and that’s what I ordered. It was the right call. 3 or 4 big pieces of beer battered fried fish coleslaw and fries. Great lunch right price excellent service.

Lots of locals come here… why not check this place out?
Fume has good food, great and friendly service (Thanks Tim), and a nice selection of wine (and a full bar too!). I made dinner reservations the day before and was able to get the time we wanted. We arrived 20 min early and was seated right away. The hostess was very nice and we had a quaint table by the window towards the outside seating area. Tim our server greeted us right away and told us the specials. I had checked into Unilocal and there was a free appetizer ( Unilocal-​itizer) which I showed to him. It was actually really really good… it’s similar to a baked bread with caramelized onions and cheese. We also ordered the calamari as an app and it was good. Can’t lose with that order. I ordered the braised short rib and risotto (does not disappoint) and my hubby ordered the porkchop with scallop potatoes (he liked it as well). DRINKS– on their menu is a Moscow mule (my hubby’s fav) and I ordered the gimlet. I am a tom Collins girl and the gimlet seemed similar. I wasn’t a fan of the lime and cucumber mix, but I didn’t hate it either.
Dessert– we ordered the trio crème brulee. Crème Brulee is my ultimate fav dessert. The vanilla is very very yummy– custard is outstanding!, cherry is surprisingly above average and the mocha one was our least favorite… but paired with a cappuccino, they were all delicious.
I listed on our reservation that we were celebrating our 1 month wedding anniversary… to my surprise, at the end of our meal, Tim greeted us a happy anniversary. It added the cherry on top with service! Thank you Tim!
We will definitely be back again!

lunch as always was super delicious I ordered something a little different from my usual a Salmon sandwich had bbq, our waitress was really nice and went to our table to check on us and refilled drinks without asking. Service was outstanding and this time we were a bigger group everyone was pleased with their choice of food.
Appreciate the quality food you offer!

Our parents are regulars here because of their great food and it’s a short distance from their house. It was so close we walked!
We had a reservation and were seated promptly. It was my husband and I’s one year anniversary so we brought a bottle Chardonnay that was served at our wedding.
We ordered a round of drinks from the bar and by the third time the waitress came by we asked if we could have the wine chilled. I would have thought that should have been offered to us earlier but oh well…
The food was very good! I ordered a cup of the corn chowder and the salmon. Both were absolutely delicious! My husband ordered the ribs and he loved them too!
The reason I took away some stars is the waitress was not very friendly. She never refilled our drinks and seemed to have a bad attitude the entire time. Everything we asked her seemed like an inconvenience. I expect better service when eatting at a restaurant like this.
I would come back to Fume for the food but not the service. If you’re looking for a dining experience with excellent service I would look elsewhere.

CONSIDER DESSERT FIRST! Or, just save room.
We tried to come here for dinner once without reservations, and learned an important lesson. :) It’s best to have a reservation. We could not find a place to park, not even on the street. So, this time we had reservations.
When we checked in on Unilocal,the coupon for a free Unilocalatizer popped up. Yay!!!
Jason took our drink orders, Pelagrino and Cabernet, and introduced himself as our server. The free appetizer was the small crispy rectangle of pizza. It was lovely and FREE!
We decided to split everything, the bacon wrapped prawn cocktail appetizer, which comes with guacamole and 3 tortilla chips, the pear salad, and the steak frites. This was more than enough food for 2 hungry people. The meal was absolutely perfect with appropriate breaks between courses and a reasonable split plate fee charged only once.
I mentioned dessert earlier — I must confess I succumbed to the dessert menu when I saw the ice cream choice. Order the New Fashioned Hot Fudge Sundae. The fudge melts the ice cream and it’s a beautiful mess. This sundae comes with Luxardo or boozy cherries. The sauce is house made and not too sweet. The whip cream is delicious. TIP: ask for the peanut brittle on the side because when it’s mixed with the ice cream, it sticks in your teeth, worse than when it’s room temp. An old fashioned hot fudge sundae would just have peanuts. The peanut brittle makes this sundae new fashioned and really good if you have a sweet craving.
