Enjoyed a private tasting at our B&B with the owner. The wines were surprisingly awesome! Especially enjoyed their Pinot Noir. The owner, Ken I believe, was extremely down-to-earth, personable, and open to share all the in’s and outs of the winemaking process. While we did not visit the property itself — we will definitely stop in our next trip to Napa.

It’s not the easiest place to find, the drive is a bit out of the way, but once you’ve arrived you’ll see the trip was well worth the experience. Ken is great he knows his wine and gives you a great informative tour of the how to of wine tastings. It’s a small operation but the wines are better then any I have ever had. The Pinot is one of the best wines I have ever had. And you will enjoy your tasting from a beautiful room that overlooks the valley. If you want to get a great education try delicious wines that you won’t find anywhere else and enjoy a beautiful view then go off the beaten path and visit this amazing people friendly place.

Ken is awesome! He is a laid back guy with a small quality operation. We were welcomed, well informed and enjoyed great wine. Best dessert wine ever. Delicious pino noir and happily answered all of our questions. Highly recommend this off the main road winery to any laid back person who wants great wine.

Love this winery, it’s not a traditional one but has the best wine and the owner was great, explained everything. The wine was the best out of all other wineries that we went, so much so that we went back the next day for more wine. Definitely a forever customer

Incredible winery… my girlfriend and I visited last fall as part of our wine tour. It was our first, and absolute favorite winery in Napa. The owner greets you with absolute sincere friendliness and passion for what he does. Its small and a little off the beaten path, but that’s what we liked best. No fancy entrance or uptight wine snobs. Just delicious, carefully crafted wine from a wonderful family owned gem of a place, sampled in a beautiful, sun drenched, wood-walled upstairs tasting room(with generous pours!) while the owner’s sleepy pup lounges on the balcony. My. absolute favorite was. the dessert wine, which was high in alcohol to cut the sweetness and give it a punch of flavor. But definitely recommend the pinot noir as well. A visit is a MUST if you’re touring Napa!

This place was our stop on our wine tour a few weeks ago. It’s considered a small wine business, but well worth the visit. :) Ken was very informative and gave really helpful tips regarding wine tasting. Kind and funny man. If you are able to visit his winery and taste some of his wines, make sure to taste the Desert Wine. It’s really good. :) I would recommend this place to my friends.

Ken’s passion for what he does is unrivaled. What a great winery in the southern part of Napa(Jameson Canyon). Mainly Pinot Noir. He’s doing everything right.

I absolutely love this winery. This was our first time to a winery and didn’t know what to expect. Ken the owner was down to earth and funny, felt like we were hanging out with an old friend. Beautiful view, great wine. Can’t wait to go back.

Without a doubt this was my absolute favorite winery in the Napa Valley. Ken, the owner, was simply a wealth of knowledge and incredibly friendly. Platypus Tours brought us here on our first stop, and honestly, I could have stayed there all day hanging with Maggie(there dog) and drinking wine with Ken. I can’t thank Ken enough for the education he provided all of us about his vineyard and all the vineyards around the valley. Props to the old school methods of Elkhorn, the quality seriously shows in their wines.

Elkhorn Peak is a great little find in Napa! It is definetly off the beaten path. It is off of Jaminson Canyon Road. First to greet you are the winery dogs, Maggie and Monty. Ken is the owner and grapegrower, farmer, wine maker and tasting host, he does it all and does it well. He will give you the lowdown on his farming methods and take you to the«barn» for your tasting. The view from the tasting room is so WOW! The lower Napa Valley and the San Pablo Bay. He makes four delicious wines. Rose’ of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and a wonderful dessert wine. The wines are very food freindly. I am not much of a dessert wine drinker but it is delicious, my friend bought a case of the dessert wine! No Napatude here!!! Tastings are by appointment. Give him a call, you’ll be glad you did!

Honestly, there is no way we would have ever found Elkhorn Peak on our own. Props to Platypus Tours who wound us up the steep driveway to the cellar on our first tour stop of the day. Greeting us was a very approachable and highly informative tour by Ken Narlove, the owner/grower/wine czar who gave us a vine to bottle orientation to the Elkhorn Peak way. Due to their location on the rocky slopes and bright sun, this is one of the rare Napa wineries that specializes in Pinot Noir — a refreshing break from the Rutherford Dusty Cabs you will have down in the valley. The talk(not really a tour…) was great and we joined Ken in their tasting room joined by the gregarious star of the show, his dog Monty, for some great wine tasting. So easy going, so casual, so great! This place would definitely be by appt only for real because if you don’t call in advance, Ken will probably be out farming and no one will be able to pour any wines! This place is a gem and I love supporting great Napa farmers like Ken that make wine right.
