Best vineyard experience I have had ever! Chris is an amazing guy who provides endless history on his vineyard and provides a truly intimate experience. Hands down recommend this as a must stop in Napa! Truly appreciate Chris’s vision and his organic wines are some of the best I have had!

The most remarkable experience I’ve had in wine country. Chris Thorpe(the owner) is quite a character, with extensive knowledge of his orchard and gardens. The wines are top notch. We were so impressed we joined the wine club and bought two extra bottle s to take home. A must see if you are interested in Organic farming.

A unique rustic experience along with fantastic wine tasting… Chris, down to earth owner of the vineyard has given us a private tour, he explained everything about the farm and and his organic certified vineyard. Tour ends at his tasting room aka his kitchen table. His wines are amazing, we joined to club immediately, our favorite place in our 3 day napa tour. What a great treat, if you decided to make a reservation for a private tour and tasting, you can find Chris(retired surgeon) sipping his fantastic wine at his backyard Thank you…

We just returned from our first visit to the Sonoma/Napa region and walked away with many great experiences, but none of them compare to our visit at Adastra. Chris took us on a tour of the property, explaining many of the features and history of the land, before taking us to their sun room for a tasting. We tried many of their wines including their various Chardonnay, all of which were quite honestly some of the best we had all week. We walked away newly minted club members with shipments heading our way back east. Thanks for a wonderful visit.

My boyfriend and I went wine tasting last thanksgiving as a birthday present for me, and Adastra was our last stop of the day. The owner was very polite and engaging and showed us around the entire property. After a detailed your of the grounds and a brief history of the winery, we were led to the barn for the tasting. Their wine selections were excellent, but I’d have to say my favorite was their Chardonnay!

Our favorite stop of the trip. We came here specifically on the recommendation of a Petaluma local who told us to seek out Chris Thorpe at Adastra. Visits are by appointment only, so we called ahead and made an arrangement. Adastra is an organic winery with a great history, and Chris is happy to walk you through it. He’ll introduce you to the property — which he and his wife live off of – and the business as well. The property is wonderful, and you can tell a lot of love has built the place up. He’ll share with you the old barn and his herb garden. You’ll become familiar with the origins of the name and finally, with the wines themselves while sitting around his dining room table. The reds are excellent, absolutely top-notch. In our trip, my wife and I only joined two wine clubs, and Adastra is one of them. The tasting and tour can be expensive — $ 25 per person — but that fee is waived if you join the wine club. Honestly, even if you don’t join the club, it’s worth the fee for the experience. I learned more about vineyard management here than I did anywhere else on our vacation. I’d very strongly recommend a visit here.

Had a great experience. Chris brought me into his home kitchen for a short-notice tasting. I enjoyed his pinot the best, but in a rare move for me i also bought a couple bottles of his Chardonnay. Recommend for all levels of wine drinker, from novice to pinot snob.

Excellent small winery. The family who owns the winery are just lovely and very accommodating. The Pinots were memorable and some came in half bottle, so if you don’t like sharing nor being drunk every night, pick up a case and enjoy. The grounds are pretty and rustic. The barn was historic and very rural Napa. The gardens were sweet and we fell in love with the wooden camel. There is a bocce ball court. I asked if you had to be a member to use them and they told me that it depends on when you visit but that you can always ask. They pushed their membership pretty hard, but sadly I am already a member of another great winery in the area with similar wines. Maybe one of these days. If you like small wineries and want to avoid the crowds and want a quality wine tasting experience, you should really consider this winery.

True wine country. One man’s passion to live in the country, grows grapes, and make wine. Chris Thorpe and his wife are only the third residents since the 1800’s. He walks you around the property and shows you historical facts that he found and pinned to the walls of his barn. His tour was great. It wasn’t about winemaking and the vines, but about his Estate and how he ended up making wine. We walked around his herb garden and just smelled. It was better than an aroma seminar I have taken. We tasted in his kitchen paired with various cheeses. They only produce 1,500 cases and they were all very good. We walked away with their 2009N’Oak Chardonnay, 2007 Adastra Pinot Noir and their Ed’s Red 2008 A.D. Such a charming place! Make an appointment.

My husband and I went out to Napa for our Honeymoon back in April and his cousin purchased a limo ride for us to take us to various wineries and Adastra’s was definitely the best tasting/tour experience. It was very personal and it was great to go somewhere that wasn’t completely commercialized like everywhere else. And of course the wine was super delicious… especially the Syrah! it was so good we decided to join their wine list… If you’re ever in the mood to do some wine tasting out in Napa… you must visit Adastra… beautiful place and a better experience than any of the other wineries.
