Pi Pizzeria

Food was very good, steak and pizza were our favorites. Service was awful– unfriendly and slow. Had the nerve to charge for bread– a standard staple at any good Italian restaurant. They must have run across the street to stop and shop for day old bread. Not good– will return for take out pizza only. Prices are reasonable.

One of my favorite spots on the island, great italian food, quaint bar, staff are great. It does get very busy during the height of summer, so get there early…

If pi = 3.14 and you divide your pizza from here by 3.14 this is the amount of cheese you will get on it 1/3.14. Therefore, tell them to add extra cheese! The garlic bread was tasty but devoid of enough cheese by the same fraction. Great bread. Will return but want enough cheese Pizza!!!

For Nantucket this is pretty decent. It is as far from NY Pizza as it is the distance but this is excellent for Nantucket. A Large Pizza is the equivalent to a Domino’s Large (but double the price). The outer crust was good but the center of the pie fails. You can’t fold the pizza in half where it holds itself up. I found that the first 4″ of the slice was soggy. I was told I need to try Fusaro’s for the ultimate Nantucket Pizza challenge to compare.

Pizza, pizza, pizza pie! This place is they REALLY deal. Everything is great, except everybody else knows too so way crowded. Delish from beginning to end.

Best brick oven pizza — anywhere!!! Made to perfection — the proof in the taste of the quality ingredients. Oh that brick oven crust, Bellissimo!
Other dishes good too — they make a great risotto dish (when it’s on the menu) and the broccoli rabe with sausage — excellent. Oh yea and an outstanding osso bucco.
Nice place and nice people. on island usually twice a year and been going here since it opened. Always treated well.

Pizza was good unfortunately I will not go back to this establishment. This was my first time on Nantucket but I was with locals and have a long day we decided we wanted some pizza to eat at home but wanted to sit at the bar and get drinks while we wait. As soon as we order a bottle of wine waiting on our 3 pizza’s and a salad (total bill around $ 120) we were told we had to give up our bar seats if someone else came in. My issue with this is that we had just bought a bottle of wine and a solid dinner and kicked 4 people out for a party of 2. We were paying customers– I proceeded to call later to voice my concern before writing a review and was told Evan or Maria would give me a call back… I of course did not get one. Not only will I never go back but 3 locals with a lot of family and friends on the will not go back either– they should really think about who they are serving next time you never know who it is!

Got off the ferry and immediately wanted pizza. Pi Pizza is a bit more than a mile walk straight down Main St., easy to find. The atmosphere was very quaint, looks like a house from the outside and has a small bar inside with a few tables. The bartender was very personable and offered a few suggestions for local attractions, as well as suggesting food. The prices were typical for pizza with a large second perfectly for two people. They had a good variety of beer, wine, and liquor at the bar as well as a variety of other food.

Very, very good thin crust «specialty» pizza, solid wine list and courteous service add up to a dining experience well beyond your average «pizza joint.»
Net, net: by far the best Pizza on island, marred only slightly by the need to go extra early for an eat-​in «on the spot dinner» or be prepared for a potentially long wait even off season.

Food is dropped on the ground then sold to customers without even being washed (should be thrown out in my opinion once hitting the floor). No sanitation is used on any stations so «cooks» are handling raw shrimp, chicken, clams and steak without gloves of washing their hands (a serious health code violation)… Don’t believe me go look through the window and watch them do it. I did.

I have been here multiple times and enjoy the food but found their is always an issue with service. The final nail was a recent take out order where the wait for pizza was 2 hours. I am not sure why take out pizza would take 2 hours but the staff was not very nice about the order. It seems if they don’t want to offer take out then remove it as an option.
We have heard the stories outlined in the other Unilocal reviews about the owners and service and can only validate our poor service but none of it surprises me now. AND, I don’t think they even care if folks post poor responses about their restaurant. : — (

Manager gave the last table to a group of four that arrived after us as we were only three people. Than told us it would be a 30 minute wait. Went next door to Sophie Ts pizza which was terrific. Guess first come first served doesn’t matter here…

We LOVE Pi Pizza! The pizza has a delicate quality, you can tell it’s hand-​made. Great other options too. Nice gelato. European atmosphere is cozy & intimate, plus there’s a bar. One of our favorite restaurants on the island.

Get there at 5:30 pm to avoid hordes sit at bar spaghetti & sausage excellent caprese salad out of this world tomatoes u can’t believe garlic bread wonderful sirloin steak amazing didn’t have it but my neighbor did will definitely order next time best little secret the locals hide don’t miss it

My family and I ordered take out food from here, it was pretty good. We had one Great Italian Pizza, calamari, Broccoli Rabe, chicken parm with penne. My favorites were the pizza and chicken parm. The pizza, chicken parm, broccoli and calamari were all good though.
We did have to wait about 10 minutes for our pick up and we did call ahead. The staff seemed nice but we saw the dining room which had an hour wait. There seems to be a nice selection of Italian snacks and fun things like boxed pastries and candy in the takeout area. We would and will come again, most likely.

Pi Pizzeria had been on my Nantucket Eats list for several years. But, weekends always went by so fast, summers abruptly ended, and then I missed hitting Pi once again. So when planning a trip for WineFest this year, a friend asked what my dining requirement would be (clearly my friends get me!) and I immediately said Pi Pizzeria.
My review here is very simple: BEST Chicken Parmesan EVER. The ragu sauce addition is a must. I only wish they delivered off island.

This was a horrible dining experience with a horrible wait staff. The pizza was average but the experience truly was a 1 star experience.

The pizza at Pi Pizzeria is outstanding. It is classic Italian artisan pizza made in a wood gas oven. The pasta and entrees are delicious and the nightly specials are not to be missed. They also have the best steak on Nantucket.
I am shocked at the negative reviews. These people complaining about a wait for pizza in July and August. What do you expect? They have one oven. The wait is not that long most of the year. Everything is great, I love this restaurant and eating at the Bar.

For pizza– 5 stars that would hold up anywhere, not just this island.
Ridiculous. Amazing. Line out the door and down the block even during off-​season but worth the wait. Sat at the bar. Dude was cool. Pizza was paper thin and I ate one large by myself and I would’ve eaten another one if I could’ve fit it in my scrawny gut.
I left looking like a snake that swallowed a rat. Sent some complimentary Pi postcards home. I’ll be back.

Ordered a few pies and a sandwich to go. We ordered right as they opened, and it was exactly 15 minutes for the pizza to be ready. One of the people «serving» was rather surly, and my pizza apparently sat on the to go shelf for 5+ minutes while various staff members ignored me, but the pizza itself was a delightful combo of NYC style sauce and cheese and thin crust Italian. Really interesting and tasty! The pepperoni was strips of quality meat. Overall worth it, but I can’t imagine this to be a very pleasant dining experience. Call ahead, order take out and avoid the «service».
