Excellent lobster Thermidor for $ 19.95! What a deal! I wish they offered this in Summer.

Ate breakfast there on 8.14.15. Took extremely long to get out food. When it can all four meals were cold. Beagle so cold that the butter didn’t melt. It looked like the toast was buttered the day before.

I was concerned as we were seated as I heard another customer ask the waitress why her eggs took so long. I believe that she left without being served. Unfortunately, we would have had to as well, had we not budgeted plenty of extra time before boarding. When our food did arrive, almost an hour after we ordered, one person still had to wait until most of our table was halfway through their meals before receiving her meal. This is unacceptable — especially at an airport where people have flights to catch. The food was average for an airport restaurant.

This is the first time my girlfriend and I came here for dinner. We had come here once before with my mom for a belated Mother’s Day Breakfast. The breakfast we had left me with nothing to complain about. The dinner however leaves something to be desired. We had come here because it was 50 cent wings night along with Endless Pasta. I’m not surprised at how busy it was, and I understand that on an island 30 miles out to sea during the summer season things might get crazy & busy. However, being what I feel is understaffed, and sub parish food is no excuse. The wings were thin and a little over cooked, the bolognese sauce wasn’t as good as I had hoped & my gf’s pasta tasted watered down. I generally don’t down island restaurants, but date nights are special to me.

I had breakfast for dinner last night and it was the best thing I have ever had. The service was good and the food was great! My only complaint is that the airplanes would make so much noise if you sat outside. Definitely go on Tuesdays and get the prime rib. Every day they have a different special so go go go!

A pleasant surprise in the Nantucket airport, and recommended by the staff at the Nantucket Inn. Extensive menu that spans breakfast to dinner, and all with a home cooked touch. And there is a bar in there too.

The only thing going for this place is the airport. With so many flight delays due to weather they have a captive audience. While the food tasted ok, the small portions should be an embarrassment, however their crowning achievement is the poor service. While I’m sure they rely on seasonal help as does most of Nantucket in the summer time, a little training would go a long way. It is clear this place thrives on the ability to gouge their customers on the way off the island. I ordered a hamburger with fries, I received a grossly overcooked piece of burger and 8, yes 8 fries. My wife ordered the«Special» which was shrimp scampi, there were 3 shrimp and maybe a cup of noodles for $ 13. Our bill for the food and water was nearly $ 40. The wait was over 45 minutes which had us scrambling to catch out flight. NOT worth the time or money.

Terrible service. Average food. I had clam chowder and a fish sandwich. The clam chowder seemed like it was food service soup. The fish had too much breading. It took about an hour to get our food. The server was not helpful in any way. It seemed that she was put off by any requests from the table. Terrible.

As a pilot I fly all over the Country. Most pilots I know agree with me that Crosswinds has absolutely THEBEST Clam Chowder in the Country. Lobster rolls are pretty good too.

This place is a welcome place to grab lunch immediately accessible off the tarmac while the aircraft gets some fuel. Service is swift and attentive with reasonable prices and very good quality. My personal recommendation is the fresh cod sammich!

Crosswinds«saved the day» tonight(the restaurant we originally had reservations at via Open Table turned out to be closed…), and reminded me how consistently«solid» this place is. Yes, it’s in the airport(and aside from Nantucket, where else would you voluntarily eat AT the airport), yes, it’s essentially a dinner, and yes, the service is usually a tad scattered. That said, the food is more than decent, and Larry is an extremely gracious host. Don’t expect Michelin Star food, but do expect solid diner+ fare with interesting specials and welcoming staff pretty much 365 days a year.

This is just about the cheapest place on the island to eat. They have nightly specials, and the food is pretty good! I enjoy all you can eat pasta night… BUT the service is terrible! The girls are extremely SLOW. We always have to wait for a table, wait to have our order taken, then wait for food– for sometimes 20 min… EVERY time we come. So come — but plan to wait… and sometimes be ignored… and then wait for your check…

Everything could use a little seasoning… That being said it’s a diner breakfast, hands down. Our 21 month old was in heaven, pancakes and planes… He was constantly looking at the planes coming and going. Sitting outside was a pleasure… It is loud as you are basically sitting on the Tarmac, that gives it the small nantucket airport feel. The food. Not seasoned at all. The eggs were good, the home fries were actually pretty good, though they could give you more than the 5 or so they give you… You get one sausage patty which also was a bit odd… With all the great bakery’s you would think they would have the Portuguese bread or herb bread. Nope, just standard white, wheat or rye… The pancakes looked like pancakes from a box, nothing special… But the price is definitely right… And it is fun for kids that like planes. The other big knock, no kids menu for breakfast. Seemed odd.

Arrived for lunch in party of 4, waited 20 minutes to place order for breakfast. Our food took over an hour to arrive. The server, Larry, took care of the bill but made rude comments to one of the patrons about what she could and couldn’t afford after asking where she worked. The food was good, but not worth the wait or the hassle.

Note: Ordered — Turkey Stuffing Sandwich, 2 bowls clam chowder They lost a star due to false advertisement, but I will get into that shortly. Waitstaff was attentive, and they have a solid 8⁄10 for their chowder… that gave them four stars. The star that was lost was due to the menu… we both had bowls of the chowder on my boyfriend who dines here monthly, raving about it insisted we had it. It was really good, I will give him that… tasted fresh vs. reheated Progresso or Campbell Soup. Fourth star was still there… That fourth star left like a tip in a Seinfeld episode, because of the sandwich… they knew we were splitting it… we specifically asked for it while excluding ingredients listed on the menu we did not want to have. Imagine our surprise when it arrives STUFFED with lettuce, and like two pieces of turkey, a small shmear of stuffing… but menu says no lettuce… We end up with a pathetically wrapped piece of 1 slice of turkey, a bit of stuffing and a smaller bit of cranberry… Disappointed.

Crosswinds is located in Nantucket Memorial Airport. And since nothing on this island is super far away, this place is easy to get to either by foot or on bike. I’m making my circuit of cheap(er) eats here and decided to stop in after hearing a coworker discuss this place. Know what snagged me? 0.50¢ jumbo wings. They also have unlimited pasta on Wednesday, but I know which side my bread is buttered on! Wings come coated in either BBQ, hot, or teriyaki. The teriyaki sauce was very good and the pasta looked delicious enough to tempt me into try. Stopping back in to try their other weekly specials may have to happen. But that apple pie with cinnamon crumbles… Average apple pie made a lot better by the cinnamon crumbles. I want the crumbles in a bowl with some berries and yogurt. So good. Not a bad spot to eat at for the price.

All things considered, for an airport restaurant with extremely seasonal traffic, this place is very good. They are open 365 days a year! Much more than you can say for most establishments on Nantucket. It is locally owned, also a major plus in my opinion. Manager is almost always available– friendly and helpful. Coffee has vastly improved. Check out their daily specials. Chipotle Reuben is good for lunch.

I’ve only ever eaten breakfast here, always with my parents. They say it’s a local’s spot, and since clearly they are in the know(not really), it must be. I can’t attest to this actually, but it definitely has that towny feeling and I mean c’mon now, it’s at the airport. I haven’t really found anything I liked, but everything was edible, regular diner style. I wasn’t a fan of the meat lover’s omelette, a the combo of all subpar meats just didn’t do it. The veggie lover’s omelette was a better option. The grits had absolutely no flavor and I wish they gave you more home fries, but hey, what can ya do. Service is amicable and usually fairly quick and efficient only a few times have we really been disappointed with the wait, but to be fair, it was super busy. Overall this is a solid option for an inexpensive breakfast/lunch in Nantucket. Nothing fancy, just some good olé fashioned breakfast.
