Jalapeño’s Mexican Restaurant

Just ok. The ref tied beans were bland. I had the steak fajitas and they were just ok. They were delivered to the table without the main plate — just the pan of fajitas. Several minutes later the side dish came out & my husband’s order.

Have been going getting to both locations for the last couple of years, Nampa and Boise. The meals and service has always been ok. Thought I would wait on thus review and see if on bad meal was just that. But my wife and I are on the fourth bad meal and bad experience it’s time to say something. 1^st food has gone from great to poor, use to be the nocho plate came heaped up with lots of meat, now it’s like it’s something you’d order at a convenience store nothing but a flat pile of chips and a small scoop of meat. Plus the food is coming out cold. Ordered a cheese enchilada just yesterday and had them put onions in it and they charged me $ 0.25 for less than a tablespoon of onions talk about nickle and diming a customer. My wife ordered a taco salad and the lettuce was all wilted and there was hardly any meat in it and the shell was like eating a rubber tire. I don’t think we’ll be back.

I ordered the chili verde and (oh boy!) did they capitalize on the CHILI. It was inedibly spicy. My husband loves spicy food but couldn’t handle it. The sauce made my lips feel like they were on fire… it was intense. Needless to say, I did not eat it, my chickens did. My sister ordered a margarita on the rocks. It came out frozen, which was fine, but then she tasted it. It was pure syrup. A premixed bottle with extra corn syrup, apparently. Not a good or pleasant dining experience. We will not be back.

I like to order the chicken flautas, minus the sauce. The food is consistently good and the owner and staff are friendly. I like the way this place is set up with dining and bar area. Yummy margaritas too!

I took my wife and mother in law to jalapenos for Mother’s Day we ordered fajitas they had no flavor they were the worst fajitas I have ever eaten the service was terrible the waitress was nowhere to be found, its to bad because I had high hopes for Jalapeño’s I will never go back to jalapenos

Good food and the service is always really good here! The salsa has good flavor and is very fresh. The chicken nachos and flautas are delicious and the portions are HUGE! I would have given 5 stars but the food is a touch on the greasy side but all in all a great experience

Food lacks any flavor. Steak is overcooked and bland. Service is mediocre. Not sure how this place has good reviews.

Tasty food for a great value with friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. This is our restaurant of choice in Nampa when it comes to Mexican.

My husband & I always make it a point to eat here whenever we pass through Caldwell. The service is good and the food was great.

Best Mexican food I’ve ever had! It’s fresh and delicious, not swimming in grease. So darn good. I always get the Mexican Tacos, and sometimes I splurge on the cheese sauce. Yumm!

OK, I am not an expert in Mexician food but I have eaten Mexician food for years in many restaurants and in many states. Jalapeño’s restaurant in Nampa served me the best chicken taco salad I have ever eaten. I gave Jalapeño’s a FIVE STAR because of that taco salad. Restaurant décor is so-​so, prices are reasonable, but I saw some amazing good looking items being carried to different tables. If you like good Mexician food I would say Jalapeño’s Mexician Restaurant is a winner.

I love Jalapeño’s it is always my first choice when someone asks «where do you want to go to eat»

What an American thinks Mexican food should be. Heard it was great. But tried it in Caldwell and Boise and was disappointed.

I would totally give this place five stars if it wasn’t for the cheese, I just do not care for the plastic texture it imparts but I keep coming back because the service is great, portions are good and the price is fair.

My favorite Mexican restaurant. All your Mexican favorites done well. I love the Chili Colorado Burrito, but there are so many great choices. Run by some fun great people who care about their customers and the quality of their food.

Everything was delicious. Definitely hit my Mexican spot after an epic fail in Mountain Home.

Nic: Fajitas for me. Chips and salsa were good, service great. Just one of those places, like Chapalas, where you know what to expect, get what you want and leave full, happy and already looking forward to the next visit.
