What a Great Little Hotel !! I live in the area and needed some additional space for out of town Guests… Melanie(Owner) was able to accommodate my 4 Guests in the Height of the Tourist season ! Thank You… Thank you !! This Place is located in Na’alehu Hawaii almost across the street from the Punaluu Bakery which is Famous for their Hawaiian Sweet Breads. There are two Notable places to eat close by… Shakas and Hana Hou’s …My Guests enjoyed the local flavor and the Country Feel considering how many miles it is to either Kona or Hilo… I will most definitely utilize Hawaii Island Inn again when I have an overflow of relatives that come to visit :-) Thank-you Melanie… Aloha

We were going to stop here for one night and camp out the rest of the week but when we saw the accommodations we decided to book the room for a week. For about the same price as camping, you get a hot shower and use of a full kitchen. The young owners are very friendly and had great tips on what to do in the area. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy and the room had a homey feel. The shared bathroom and kitchen were bright and clean. The location is right off the 11 but the nights were quiet and calm. We felt comfortable and secure in our private room which included cable TV and WIFI. What we liked best about the place was the proximity(1 to 2 blocks) to two great restaurants(Shaka and Hana Hou) and the Panaluu bakery popular with tourists. We had breakfast there most days. We were a short 2 Hour drive from all the tourist attractions in Hawaii. But our favorite was Whittington Park which was just 5 miles north of town. It’s a beautiful and secluded Ocean side park. You can spend your vacation zooming through these little towns enroute to the next destination on the rush tour itinerary or you can stop, relax and smell the flowers. Reconnect with the old Hawaiian spirit which is alive and well in Naalehu.

Nice owners, full shared kitchen, shared bathroom. Old plantation house so you can hear every door open and close but that’s the norm for that style. Great nights sleep and great deal! Close to southpoint/greensands. Good bar/restaurant close by(shakas) within walking distance.

We stopped by in this town on our way to Hilo but we were tired and needed food. ;) A local told us to go to see if they have rooms available. The owner is very nice, the hostel is small but clean. My friend and I decited to take the studio for 60 $ a night. They provide you with towls, there is Shampoo in the shower and the room is clean. The only thing was the mini fridge that was not clean. We had breakfast here in the morning, very delicious and fresh!
