I went to Dr. Duke, for IPL, a procedure I had performed with great success at another practice several years ago. I knew the procedure that worked wonders for me in the past, but just to make sure, I consulted with my regular derm to be sure he believed that I was a good candidate. He gave me the thumbs up, and I contacted Dr. Duje’s office, based on the impressive credentials she advertises. After an $ 80 3 minute required consultation, I went in for the 10 minute procedure. The total cost for this was $ 280. Unfortunately, Dr. Duke miscalculated the strength of the laser, and the procedure had no effect. None. This was in absolute contrast to the terrific and dramatic reduction on brown spots I had experienced through my initial experience. I subsequently voiced my concerns to Dr Duke. She responded that she would be happy to do a *free* test site before having me pay for a subsequent procedure. When I asked why she didn’t simply conduct a test site during the $ 80 consultation that took her all of three minutes, she had no response. (a test site takes approximately 15 seconds to perform). She simply said that she likes to be cautious with the procedure, and that — basically– it was just too bad that it didn’t work. I received several follow up calls from kind staff members, who carefully explained that if I wanted to pay a couple more hundred dollars, Dr. Duke would offer that *free* test site. In the end, Dr. Duke wanted me to pay nearly $ 500 to get my initial IPL results. I left feeling ignored and completely ripped off. This is a procedure I waited several years to get, really needed after the pigmentation effects of 2 pregnancies, and saved a long time for. Steer clear of this practice, and share this information with your local friends who are considering any service here. I rarely complain about a business, but I am shocked that Dr. Duke refused to be more helpful after a completely failed procedure.

The office staff and Dr. Duke were very nice and extremely patient. I had several questions about different issues and no one rushed or tried to skip anything. For the price of the visit I feel I got my money’s worth especially in Mystic. I will return for any other issues I have.
