I have been to the Asheville location a couple of times, I was impressed. This location is really pretty but the food was awful. They were out of fried okra and suggested grilled okra. This was the pits. Burnt and greasy. I had a veggie burger, probably the worst veggie burger I have ever had. My friends had pulled pork which was just OK. The BLT egg was bland and missing the spice promised. And a shrimp dish with over cooked shrimp. Barely edible. Can’t believe this is part of the place in Asheville. Gross.

OMG time!!! Are you kidding me? Perhaps I have Southern heritage, but never knew. Let me start with this seriously detailed description of Tupelo Honey. Smoke and mirrors? I don’t know and it doesn’t matter. Trout — yes! Pickled anything — oh yes! The menu is extremely thoughtful and personnel listing all of their farm to table partners right on the menu along with an even more thoughtful pairing of local craft beers. 10 years ago I said I’d never get married and have kids. Married and kids. One day I recall saying that I would never open up a restaurant, though I am an avid«foodie». Tonight I am going home to draw up plans on how, where, and when I will open my Tupelo Honey franchise. Toasted pecan dressing — yes! Tupelo honey vinaigrette — yes! Jim the waiter — yes! Do not stop to ask questions, do not stop at go to collect $ 200, just go there and eat!

After going to the downtown Asheville location, I was excited to try this one. My table ordered the fried chicken and the pulled pork entrees. The portions seemed smaller than the Asheville location. The mashed potatoes were dry and seemed to have been sitting out for a while. The biscuits with blueberry jam were my favorite part of the meal. Overall, the food was decent. The downtown Asheville location was far better.

Food was very good but service was slow(and we were only one’s in the restaurant). Actually a little concerning how quiet this place was. Some good drinks and good food and I would return. Great location.

Visited Myrtle Beach, SC for a family vacation and decided to try here for lunch. The food was excellent and staff were very friendly. The interior is very spacious and ambience is comfortable. I would definitely come back again if we’re in the area.

Incredible. Tried the sweet potato pancake with fried chicken and it was awesome! Fast and friendly service and very reasonable prices for a local, innovative restaurant.

My meal was excellent. My friend went with me, whose a picky eater, enjoyed it as well. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I had the shoo moo shrimp and grits. My friend has the ribs. Food was excellent. Will be back the next time I’m in myrtle beach.

My boyfriend and I decided to leave the beachfront when we Unilocaled and found the Myrtle Beach Tupelo, and we were not at all disappointed. There was plenty of outdoor seating and beer-snob-boyfriend really loved the draft list. I had a Bloody Mary and was extremely pleased; spicy and flavorful. The food was good, especially the biscuit. I would give five stars, but our waiter seemed distracted meaning we often had empty water glasses and he wouldn’t actually wait for answers when he checked on our table. I got up and grabbed my own ketchup from a nearby table being bussed after not getting a chance to request it when the food arrived(different person delivered it) and didn’t see our waiter for many minutes. We did like the drinks and food though, so we’ll check out the one in Arlington too!

We visited the Tupelo Honey Café for brunch on our first day of a vacation to Myrtle Beach and were impressed enough to come back for lunch of our last day in town. For brunch, we had the specialty sweet potato pancakes(with fried chicken and bacon) and an egg BLT. We also ordered mimosas. Everything tasted and looked great, and our server was very friendly and nice. Our second time, we tried some of the specialty soft drinks; they weren’t bad. The lavender-limeade fizz was a little too sour for my taste at first, but after some of the ice melted it tasted nice. For our entrees, we had the fried chicken with gravy(the gravy was kind of mediocre) and a fried chicken BLT. Love that fried chicken. For our sides we had the salad, which was fine, and the brussels slaw, which was an interesting and tasty dish. Our server was new, so there was a little confusion with part of our order, but otherwise he was nice and funny. The hostess was also very welcoming and funny, so kudos to the staff all around. If we lived in the area, would definitely go back again; would love to have made it for happy hour, as their bar looked quite impressive, too.

I missed a previous opportunity to eat at the one in Asheville so was really excited to go to the one here in Myrtle Beach. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were friendly. The food was good, but not great. We had the Fried Green Tomatoes app to start with and this was good but a bit bland. I had fried chicken, fried okra, and the shaved brussel sprout salad. The salad was really good, I recommend this! The rest arrived to the table a bit on the cool side. May have been better if was warmer. My husband got the ribeye dinner and all of his was not as warm as it should have been(potato was cold). The pecan pie was ok, but could have been better had it been warm and fresh. Good beer selection. I’d go again but I’m not sure my hubby would.

All of the food at our table was fantastic! I also liked the atmosphere and trendy décor. After that, the positives took a screeching halt at the service. Our table had such a bad experience with the server. He delivered someone else’s appetizer to our table but didn’t pause long enough for us to tell him it wasn’t ours. By the time we got his attention 10 minutes later, he just removed it and gave it to the right table(he didn’t even ask if we touched it). Our appetizers came out first. Then the server left before we could tell him that we still needed plates as well as silverware. We waited 10 minutes, asked him for both, but he only brought plates. So we waited another five minutes or so, and then got someone else’s attention, who brought us silverware. Finally we could eat. Then my burger did not have the lettuce, tomato, onion, or any condiments that was supposed to come on it. So I ate my vegetable while everybody else ate their entrée. Some nice guy walked by and asked if we needed anything, and we told him I was waiting on my burger toppings. He immediately delivered ketchup, then our server came and also delivered a bottle of ketchup but no toppings. One guy at our table never did get his drink so we shared what we had with him. Our drink orders took extremely long time. It was also comical because some people at our table had wine(delivered at the same time) that was filled to the brim and another had barely a half glass full even if it was the same wine. Oh and none of us actually used the plates that were brought to us because every single one that we checked was dirty. One of the ladies at our table took silverware from another because her knife was dirty. I mean this was a Tuesday night and although it got busier as the night went on for the first hour we were there we were only one of TWO tables that our server had. I would not come back here again to dine in. Instead I would say you could try carryout and see how that goes. I’m sure we will talk about this place for a long time to come, but laugh about the experience more than rave about it.

Was visiting Myrtle Beach and had dinner at Tupelo Honey Café on New Year’s Eve. Our host Sean seated all 7 of us immediately at a large table in the front of the restaurant and were given party hats. We had brought some of our own noise makers which the management didn’t mind. Other customers noted we were the party table. My wife and I shared a half priced bottle of wine which was good and half price made it even better. We ordered and shared several appetizers. Fro dinner I ordered a Cajun Chicken Pasta dish which I enjoyed very much. The management didn’t rush us even though it was New Year’s Eve. I found the entire staff was very friendly and inviting like we were regular customers. The establishment had created a very festive atmosphere where you wanted to stay and party. I would like to have remained there but there is just so much I can eat and drink. If you happen to be in the Myrtle Beach area I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Came here for two reasons, I was given a gift card, and because we had been eyeing it. Great, real, southern food! However, it is not a cheaper restaurant. It did seem a little pricey, but the food options were phenomenal! I got the salmon, which I was told the chef recommends it medium rare, so I went with it. Their Mac and cheese, crazy good! You should try it! A little weird to recommend the Mac and cheese, but you won’t be disappointed. I promise! Our waitress seemed to keep getting lost. She would come check on us, and I swear wouldn’t come back to our table for a good 25 minutes at a time. Our stay was a little longer than we anticipated. We would like to come back to try their breakfast at some point. The chicken and waffles seemed like something you’d want to try from here.

So while in Myrtle beach we went to Tupelo Honey TWICE in the same day. I’d like to give them 4.5 but can’t. For lunch @11:30, then again for happy hour(5ish). Let’s just go ahead and give them thumbs up for great food. Our waiter brought us biscuits w honey & jelly.(YUMMY start) My wife & sister in law had the chicken BLT and were very pleased. One had fries the other had mac & cheese. The mac & cheese had a pimento cheese which made her not a fan, but it was ok. They couldn’t finish their BLT’s, half were good for later. I had the sweet potato pancake with fried chicken. The portion was HUGE.(to my liking) The pancake came with pecans and a spiced butter for the pancake which were a nice addition to the pancake. I definitely got my sugar fix. The sweet tea i had with my meal tasted like water(LOL) after my pancake/chicken & syrup. For happy hour, we started with the ham wontons. Very tasty. i was pleased with the on tap beer.(Bell’s amber ale), the selection was extensive. My wife & sister in law tried the passion fruit piña colada, which came highly recommended. They didn’t like it. The bartender was VERY apologetic and tried to doctor it up a little which made it palatable. We ordered burgers, the ladies were happy how they came, i kicked mine up with the carmelized onions, bacon, mushrooms & fried egg. YUMMM. We had a little room for dessert so we shared a banana pudding. It was surprisingly good. We usually wouldn’t order this out, took a chance and we pleasantly surprised. $ 70 for 3, with drinks, not bad We will have to check out the spot in Raleigh to see if they’re a consistent small chain. A few more pics added from breakfast

We stopped by Tupelo recent for dinner and had a great experience. Luckily it wasn’t a busy night, but I’m sure this place gets crowded at times. I had the fried chicken sandwich and fries, they were really good and the chicken was perfect. I didn’t love the sauce on it, but it was still good. I definitely regret not getting the sweet potato pancake with fried chicken, but I’ll get that next time. We’ll definitely go back to Tupelo again, probably to check out the brunch. Also, the outdoor seating is fantastic.

Oh I just love Tupelo! I decided to take my parents here last night since we’re in Myrtle Beach for a long weekend, and I’ve always enjoyed my experiences at the Chattanooga location. To say that service was pleasant and efficient would be an understatement. Our waiter, Ryan, KILLEDIT. Funny, charming, personable — just an all around delight. We started with some of their housemade sodas(lavender-limeade fizz for me, peach-rosemary lemonade for my father) and excitedly anticipated the fresh biscuits with honey and blueberry preserves — the perfect precursor to any meal. I skipped my usual app(although I LOVE the fried green tomatoes with goat cheese grits) and instead went full on breakfast mode with a giant pecan pancake topped with fried chicken and peach butter. Oh so decadent, highly-caloric and totally worth it. My dad opted for the beef and bacon meatloaf with rosemary tomato shallot gravy(I enjoyed his leftovers for lunch today) and my mom ordered the classic fried chicken. While the entrees were both great, the sides really made the meals shine. Their dishes each came with two sides, and the lengthy list of options included a wonderful balance of fried Southern specialties(fried okra, etc) and more health conscious options(delicious bene coated asparagus, carrot & kale slaw with avocado lime vinaigrette, and blueberry lemon quinoa) so we were happy and stuffed by the end of the meal. The kale-carrot slaw and mac and cheese were the true standouts. To go boxes definitely came in handy! Always a fantastic meal at Tupelo regardless of location. Looking forward to my next visit already!

Man oh man… i am STILL full from eating at Tupelo haha The food was great! Ordered a burger n fries. The fries had a parsley parmesan cheese on it and they were crispy and perfect! The burger? fresh ingredients and a wonderful chipotle sauce. We also ordered the honey siracha wings. OHMANTHEYAREAWESOME. fried in cotton oil(apparently thats the way to go down here in SC haha). Their signature mac n cheese wasn’t as great as I thought it would be, but was still satisfying. The complementary biscuit you get with blackberry jam is THEBESTTHINGEVER. OOOOMMMMGGGG who knew a biscuit could be so amazing. Happy hour has amazing specials. Order the $ 5 goat cheese with fig and bruschetta bread and a $ 5 margarita. all on point. We also took advantage of the free kids meal option that’s available on Unilocal so we just BOUGHTEVERYTHING haha. thanks again Tupelo.
