Well, the food is fantastic and tasted fresh. But the décor! Come on! How can one ask for such unreasonable prices if the décor looks like this place has been cleaned, fixed up and decorated about 30 years ago. Things are broken simply filthy, try to focus on the food only and do not look around because appetite is really dependent on the environment as well.

I walked in and it looked kinda dingy and there didn’t seem to be AC so I assumed it was going to be the best Ethiopian food I’ve ever had. Wrong. It took a while to get the food and we were the only ones there. The AC didn’t kick in Til we got our meal. Then the food was mediocre at best. The meat was all shredded and not cubed. A bit bland. Not impressed.

Wonderful experience. We came in for lunch on a saturday. They don’t have their own parking lot but there is street parking and a garage not too far from it. The building is a little old but it’s very clean. Our server was incredibly nice and took the time to explain some of the menu items for us. My husband had never had Ethiopian food before and it had been a long time since I last had it so it was nice to have the refresher. She also brought out a really tasty bread with a dipping sauce. He ordered the meat sampler and chose the lamb, chicken, and beef in the spicy wat sauce. I ordered the doro wat which was chicken drumsticks and a hard boiled egg in the peppery sauce. It’s supposed to be spicy but we eat hot foods regularly so it was pretty mild to us. We had ordered the ayeb(homemade cheese) just in case but really didn’t need it, but we’d still order it again because it tasted good. We both loved our meals but the lamb was our favorite. Also, the injera was delightfully light and spongy. They offer their meals with injera or rice but I definitely recommend the injera. It’s great and it’s fun to eat. Speaking of, for the most part, you eat with your hands here. They do have silverware but you pretty much have to ask for it. It’s all meant to be eaten by hand so give it a try(just wash your hands first). They definitely didn’t skimp on the portions so we ended up taking almost half of our food home with us for dinner later. All in all, it was a little under 40 after tax and tip for the two of us but I thought it was well worth it. We ended up with lunch and dinner for the whole day. We plan on coming back next time we’re in the Myrtle area. They offer a vegetarian sampler(you pick 3 veggie items) that we want to try but we’re definitely ordering the lamb again.

Great food with tons of vegetarian options that are all great(I usually eat only meat). Prices are cheap as well.

Mild disappointment. Arrived on a Sunday evening just prior to a small spate of dinner arrivals. Had two vegetarian samplers. A mixed bag. A couple of the items were tasty, a couple weren’t served hot. Spinach item had a chopped, frozen spinach feel to it. The spice-studded bread that preceded the meal tasted like stale cake. The physical space was unappealing. Next time we’d opt instead for the neighborhood Thai or Indian places in hopes of some memorable vegetarian. Not sure our server’d be too troubled by our decision.

Great food! Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable staff. It was hot as blazes and just got worse as we sat there, and didn’t want to say anything but as soon as she caught us fanning ourselves apologized, said she didn’t realize as earlier someone had been cold. Fixed it right away. Somewhat standard ambience for the type of food that more people take out than eat in, but interesting and efficient with drinks(eventually). As with similar places, don’t expect a super quick meal, but you won’t be rushed to finish either! Yum!

Dirty and stinky. You walk in and it smells like toilet. Waiting was 40 min. Price is too much for the food which tastes just ok. Disappointed. Besides, after 1 hour after the food now I have a diarrhea. Great!!!

Very pleased to find an Ethiopian restaurant in Myrtle Beach. My friend and I shared the meat combo and the vegetarian platters. It was perfect for 2 though we weren’t quite able to finish all of it. As others have mentioned I didn’t find the food quality to be as good as Ethiopian places I have experienced in DC and Seattle, but it was still quite good and authentic. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. They accurately indicated that dishes labeled«hot» might be considered medium by those who like or are accustomed to hot. I considered the hot to be mild. Also liked the selection of Ethiopian beers as well as the interesting bread and dipping sauce appetizer offered complimentary. All in all, a very nice dining experience for those interested in exploring new tastes and cooking styles.

Very authentic restaurant, feels like a small nice kitchen in Ethiopia. Staff was friendly, food is amazing, nothing boring nor usual. No forks, use your injera!!! Try the lamb — delicious and the beer was pretty good.

Really neat area of Myrtle Beach and just amazing authentic food. If you are looking for a filling meal or something Vegan or vegetarian this is the place to go. Don’t worry the meat dishes are good too.

My wife and I ordered the vegetarian and meat platters. We received a lot of food and it was very tasty. We are from the DC area and have had Ethiopian many times. The quality is not quite as good as the better Ethiopian restaurants in DC, but still very solid. The service is friendly, however it can get a bit slow when they are busy. Will definitely return when we come back to Myrtle Beach.

I really liked this place. My friend and I are both vegetarians and we were able to get a variety of food. The waitress was really nice and attentive. The air is really thick with incense. The Ethiopian coffee is really strong, but good. As an appetizer, they bring out bread and oil with spices(this was my favorite part, the oil is so good! I wish they bottled the stuff). Get the injera, not the rice with your meal. The rice isn’t bad, but the injera is just so good!

Nothing extraordinary about the food. We went there little past the usual lunch time and everything we were expecting to be served hot was served cold. That totally brought the taste down. The curries were simply dominated by hot sauce.

For my first experience with Ethiopian food, I was happy with their takeout order made just before closing time on a Sunday evening. If you are looking for something outside of the traditional tourist/chain fare so prevalent in Myrtle Beach, I would highly recommend this place. My dining companion, who has travels extensively abroad and has plenty of experience with Ethiopian food, was quite happy. I had some lamb and the two women who rang up and prepared the order we very friendly. I was able to get some beers to go and while I wasn’t a fan of either one, there easily might have been handling issues with the extensive travel needed to import from overseas. Inexpensive and delicious, this place is straightforward and absolutely worth a visit!

So much of the food in Myrtle Beach is breaded, fried, covered in salt and sugar, and downright awful for your arteries. Redi –et was the food highlight of my stay in South Carolina. I ordered the sample meat platter and the chicken, lamb, and beef were cooked perfectly and were tender. Although it was it was a lot of food, my stomach didn’t feel heavy with all the meat. I also ordered an Ethiopian coffee, which had a beautiful presentation. It came out in a wood-like coffee pot and was poured into a small espresso-like mug with incense burning on the tray. Another plus is that Ethiopian food is naturally gluten-free, using teff instead of wheat products. Also, we didn’t have silverware. We ate our food with our hands, which was actually a lot of fun and added authenticity to the experience!

Dear citizens of Myrtle Beach, Stop eating such terrible and bland fried food and discover how lucky you are to be near such unique, delicious, and authentic restaurant. Redi –et single handedly restored my faith in Ethiopian food. The décor is very simple and is filled with pictures of family and Ethiopia. It can be a little off putting upon first walking in, but soon becomes part of its charm. The injera(the spongy flat bread) has a wonderful hint of lemon that really compliments the dishes. I had the lamb spiced with turmeric. It was tender and incredibly flavorful. The lentil appitizer blew me away as well. You also get a rather large amount of food for 10 to 12 dollars. It’s an incredible value. During my time in Myrtle Beach, I ate there twice. It really was that good. Redi –et is a refreshing must eat. So stop reading this and go there already.

A very quiet, and hidden gem in Myrtle Beach. I’m from New England and we visited for a couple days. When finding out this was the highest rated restaurant in the area, we had to try it. My boyfriend and I LOVE Ethiopian food! First walking in, we noticed that, a woman who’s probably the owner, was the only waitress. She was cleaning up tables and taking orders! The wait was a little long, but maybe it was because we came around 8pm? Besides that the food was really good. I ordered the Tilapia and my boyfriend got the meat combo. He really enjoyed it. Both meals had a lot of flavor. Coming from up North, the food tasted and was made differently, but it was definitely enjoyable and very shocking to find an Ethiopian restaurant in the South! The woman was very nice and respectful and if we ever are in the area agin, we’ll surely stop by!

My first time eating Ethiopian food… and I must say, it’s great! My coworker recommended this place and when we got there, we were the only people there. But it’s also winter time in myrtle beach, so no one is here! haha The food was delicious! I had the spicy lamb with two veggie sides. The lamb was perfectly spiced and fork tender. I especially loved the cabbage as one of the sides. The injera was so unique. Tasted like sourdough but fluffier. I really wanted to try the Ethiopian coffee, however, I don’t do caffeine in the evening, I won’t be able to get to sleep if I did! I must try it the next time, they are open pretty early in the morning!
