Great every thing is great! I recommend you should come here and the bar is great! I love it here

The only positives were the font desk staff and the views. Housekeeping is absolutely disturbing. Out of 5 days 4 nights only one if these did we have a single good housekeeper in which I told manager she alone might be a keeper. One day a housekeeper actually walked all the way into the bedroom where I was getting dressed before announcing herself. Ketchup on the floor, on top of garbage can, dirty dishes, no vacuuming, dirty windows, filthy outdoor furniture and floors were sticky. Unfortunately this place needs some updating and a good cleaning staff. Paul the night manager was very apologetic and refunded some $$ after I found old dried food on the silverware and plates. I loaded up dishwasher myself and washed all the dishes while on vacation and paying $ 700 for our stay. Very overpriced. I really believe that I should have held out for more because you should get what you pay for. Best thing was the beach.

Forest Dunes needs some upgrades for sure.
Location is the only thing that kept us here.
Upon arrival the key card lock was broken and we were given a regular key, not a big deal but sort of weird because they laughed it off as this was normal.
When we finally got in the room, it reeked of mold. Windows couldn’t be held open so I had to prop it up with my shoe. Couldn’t sleep, coughed all night because of the mold.
Balcony was quarantined because of construction. It could only be opened about 6″ and we left it like that the entire time to air out.
Not once were we informed before we arrived that construction was going on. Workers would go up and down outside the balcony. I would wave to them lol.
Décor was early nineties. Pretty horrible. I know these places are time share units but it was like the owners had died and this place was forgotten.
Second night a couple came in beside us at 2:30am. Slamming doors and kids running up and down the hallway. Third night college kids yelling and shouting till 3am. I get people can be loud but be warned, the walls are paper thin…
Bathroom was acceptable. Water pressure is extremely low and fittings were held in place with a gear clamp.
Parking garage was easily accessible from the 4^th floor walk over.
Beach was nice.
Staff were mostly friendly. House keeping was annoyed that we were still in our room when she came around. We told her it was ok and all we really needed was towels. Gave my wife a snarky look and handed two towels over. Thought we were doing her a favour but I guess not.
Gym is a treadmill a bike and an elliptical in a small room by the pool. Disappointing.
They had a small restaurant at the front. Every time we walked by it was closed. Maybe it was because of construction.
Strange place. Wouldn’t go back.

I would give 0 starts to this resort if I could. I am a soldier of the US Army and I was in need of a place to stay and they denied me because they insisted I be accompanied by a guardian or parent. I am 19 years old and I have been serving for over a year, and of course I live on my own. I found it hard to believe that they were incapable of understanding the fact that I can not bring my family with me to base, although I would love to. They also mentioned the only way I could stay is if was married and showed proof of my marriage, which frankly I did not understand how that increases my level of maturity or ability to reserve and stay in a hotel room. I spoke to them with the utmost respect and requested to speak to a manager and they said she was not in that day. I asked if I could leave my name and phone number and if she could return my call when she was available and the man I spoke to said no. I was appalled and this is not a place I would ever recommend.

Booked room for a week. When we got here we waited for about 2 hours to be able to check in. On the website it says check in is 3:00 when actually it was 4:00. Our room was not ready till almost 5. When we were able to get in room it was perfect view. Exactly what we were looking for. The maintenance of the room was pretty crappy but for the amount of time we spent in our room it really didn’t matter. It had all the amenities of home. Now the bar down near lobby, Buckets, don’t waste your money. Food was nasty. They have two pools, a hot tub and a not so lazy river. I am still undecided if I will come back to Forest Dunes.

My husband & I have stayed here the last 4 years during vacations. The hotel seems to have went down. The room we are currently staying in wasn’t well equipped with dishes, bedroom curtain is broke & dry wall problems in kitchen area. The carpets need shampoo or new carpet would be better! Toilet is leaking.
Looking for a new place when we come back in September. Too pricy for what we paid for!!!
Also only has 2 pools (one inside, one outside) one lazy river & one hot tub.
No fitness area or free breakfast. Food isn’t good at the bar, pretty pricy!!!
We are ocean front 9^th floor. Slow elevators (only 2 besides the one garage)
Spend your $$$ on a updated hotel

Had a really nice time and consider Forest Dunes a very nice value. there are a couple of things that distinguish Forest Dunes from neighboring hotels and condos. First, FD is perpendicular to the beach. this means that the windows and doors face north and south along the beach rather than towards the ocean. The advantage is that there’s a nice view at both ends of the condo, but not a direct view of the ocean. I actually prefer to look along the beach.
The property is clean, tidy, and well functioning. Another advantage is that the parking garage is adjacent to the building, not across a street. Also, the condo was well appointed, new paint, new fixtures, and good quality tile; easy to clean and durable. FD is in a quiet section of Myrtle Beach away from the crowded south MB. This is ideal if you’re main reason for going to MB is to enjoy the beach. The ocean is 100 yards from the FD front door. Very convenient.
I found all the staff (house cleaners, clerks, maintenance) to be professional, courteous, and capable. Two items for improvement: first, the windows and doors did not have screens. I like to relax and sleep with the sound of the ocean, but didn’t want to leave the door open. Second, I’m not a big fan of the plastic one piece shower. Would have preferred tile. I still think FD is a great location if you’re serious about some beach time. Would be ideal for a family of four, or a couple who enjoys some space.

We are staying in one of the corner suites and omg is it wonderful. The first night we stayed in 209 and the view wasnt great, and the noise from the road really bothered us. But the next day we moved to 809 for the remainder of our 7 nights and the condo was beautiful and the view was amazing. If you go here, get on 8^th FLOOR OR UP!
Now, a few complaints. the elevator takes FOREVER! I am a patient person, but waiting 10 mins on an elevator is absurd. The indoor pool is very very small. almost kiddie pool small. 3 to 5 ft deep for indoor pool. Outdoor pool is better. Its not huge but its large. Goes from 3 ½ to 8ft deep. Was pretty clean too. The hot tub was great. The lazy river has a long way to come. Its 2 ½ feet deep, and they have oversized tubes so its hard to get on one, and not easy to float by someone going slow.
The small bar /​grill in the building is decent, we ate breakfast once and it was good. Overall I love the condo. I feel at home and LOVE the floor to ceiling windows and views. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
Also the staff is pretty friendly, and they have a place where you can borrow DVDs for the supplied DVD player in the rooms for free, and they have a lot of good titles!

As a retired college professor with a birthday in December I have always found the month pressing as well as depressing. Many years found me both teaching and working on my doctorate. Papers to grade, exams to construct, finals to take, trees to buy, houses to decorate, parties to attend, ad nauseum…
Three years ago my partner requested we go to Las Vegas for Christmas. He was Hawaiian and Vegas is where Hawaiians vacation, relocate, retire and have relatives. He had flown out to meet his parents where they stayed at the Hawaiian hotel, ate at Hawaiian restaurants, and visited Hawaiian nieces. Upon his return he said there was a lot there he missed so lets go back.
Radiation took him before he got the chance to visit non-​Hawaiian Vegas. After his death various friends insisted I have Christmas dinner with their families. I refused them all. I prefer not being the token lonely old man watching kids violently open presents and sisters arguing. Everyone thinking how nice it is for me not to be alone. So made good my promise to Beau and flew to Vegas for Christmas.
Since then I make it my business to escape at Christmas. Last year I spent the week at Forest Dunes in Myrtle Beach. Lord, was that a wise choice. I confess Myrtle Beach in the summer has no attraction for me, but in the winter South Carolina offers a beautiful solitude. I am spending the month here in a condo with floor to ceiling windows taking up the entire bedroom. dining room, and living room walls. It is a corner unit so I look down Ocean Boulevard and at the beach and the Atlantic. The beach has a barrier of dunes covered by scruffy plants, sea oats and palmettos. I can see old men walking dogs, young women stopping at the exercise stations along the hiking trail, or a group of Indian women walking along the sand dressed in colorful saris.
Forest Dunes is located midway between downtown and the built up northern beach. Homes and luxury condos sit along side Forest Dunes. Those attending to the desk are helpful and friendly. Nearby are restaurants with no waiting and avenues with no traffic. I am going to finish this and head to the Piggly Wiggly to stock the fully equipped kitchen. I do like Piggly Wiggly, but lets face it we Yankees just get a kick out of saying PIGGLY WIGGLY.

We stayed here one weekend while on vacation and loved this place. The staff was very friendly and accommodating especially when my wife fell and tore up both her knees from a pothole in their parking garage. They tended to her with Peroxide and Bandages and apologized up and down for the accident.
Our only complaints is that the room we stayed in was a little snug. What I mean is that the space you have to walk between the bed and the wall for example was real tight and it made it difficult if you were trying to maneuver through late at night when trying to use the bathroom.
Some of the lights were burnt out, but they had a closet of replacements we were able to use. While I am fine changing them myself these things should have been checked prior to renting the room.
My biggest complaint was with their House Keeping service. I understand most of them probably do not speak or understand English all that well, but they should at least know what «Service Please» and «Privacy Please» means on the door hangers. We had it set to «Privacy Please» and they’d still come knocking at 8:00AM asking if we needed service. This upset me a bit because they’d wake me up out of a sound sleep before I wanted to be up.
The first day there we had a telemarketer call our room trying to complete a survey and get us to buy in to a time share. This irked me quite a bit and I mentioned something to the front desk and they said they’d look in to it. We never got another unwanted call after that so they must have done something.
Other than that the place was much nicer then my first apartment and had an amazing view of the Ocean. The nights were perfect and we’d leave the Balcony door open to get a cool breeze and to hear the tide rolling in. Very romantic. The price couldn’t be beat either for what you get and where it is located. We have spent more per night at a Holiday Inn Express off of a noisy Highway then we did here. For the price, the accommodations and the scenery we will definitely stay here again next time we are in Myrtle Beach.

For what you pay it’s worth it, however looking at the resorts around here you get to envy everything this place does not have.
Staff are friendly and there is a bar that is quaint. The exercise room is a joke, a bike, treadmill, and multi-​machine. Nothing for family to do here like other places. There is a smell outside that is like bad clams when the wind blows, however I will admit it doesn’t come from here, but it blows through here. The wifi here does not work so don’t expect to plan to connect to any.
The place is very very close to the beach, literally right across the a small street which is a plus. However get used to walking, because you will be taking the stairs for the majority of the stay. There are only two elevators in the entire 20+ floor hotel. NO service elevators so all the guests plus staff have to share the same elevators.
The beds here are rock solid, and I mean they are tough. You will have a more comfortable sleep laying on the floor. That’s if the constant door slamming from the other rooms don’t keep you up all night.
We had to make a last minute reservation here cause of oil in the gulf but all in all it’s not bad for the price but remember you do get what you pay for.

Good quality for what you spend! Nice kitchen, huge rooms, balcony, lazy river, swimming pool. Right across the street from the beach and there is nothing in front of the hotel blocking the view. No motorcycles allowed and it is on the quiet side!
