The food at Black Thai is amazing. I highly recommend the Tom Kha soup with chicken and of course the drunken noodles. I prefer mine with duck but I’m sure any meat would be delicious. I would have given 5 stars however the server is temperamental. One day she’s friendly and attentive and one day she doesn’t even speak one word just stands there laughing at her ipad without saying a word. It makes the dining experience very awkward. The food pretty much makes up for the unpredictable server though. Whoever the chefs are I take my hat off to you. Great job on your food.

Our go-to spot for Thai food in Myrtle Beach. We never miss an opportunity to eat here when we are in MB. If you like it hot they can oblige… don’t try it if you have a pacemaker or heart condition. :-) Bring on the heat!

Went yesterday and the plus sized waitress was mean, flat, dull. If you find it that hard to smile you are in the wrong job. Every question we asked, it felt like we were bugging her. There was no attempt on her part at being friendly. I ordered a number 3 level spicy I said, «it is good but I am a baby when it comes to hot food» my water was empty, while sweat was rolling down my face, eyes tearing up this chick had the nerve to halfway fill my glass with water. Who does that? The lunch price was good for two people.

In town from NY, was pleasantly surprised by the food and portions. There was 5 of us and we had different dishes — fish, soup, chicken wings and noodles. Loved that you can order everything with varying spice level 1 – 5. Excellent service!

The true measure of a good Thai restaurant is their pad Thai and theirs was sub par. The noodles were not cooked all the way which made them hard to chew. The sauce was entirely too sweet. I couldn’t finish my meal and I normally love pad Thai. I gave it two stars because we got spring rolls for an appetizer that were good.

I wanted to experience another local Thai restaurant. After reading through several restaurant reviews I decided to visit Black Thai. This was my experience… The sever who is also the owners daughter was rude in taking my order over the phone and when I came to pick up my soup. There portions are small compared to others in the area. Parking was dangerous and a hassel. #thai #myrtlebeach #disappointment #eatlocal

Black Thai is great. always consistent and tasty. I usually get the red coconut curry with chicken. Spiced well and flavorful. They also have great lunch specials during the week.

Great $ 6.99 lunches. Best pad Thai in town. Soup that comes with the lunch has lots of garlic! I’ve had most of the dishes and they are all pretty good but the pad Thai is my favorite here.

Tried this place because of Unilocal. The service was incredibly slow, despite being one of only two tables there. The waitress was very nice and accommodating but it took forever to get our drinks. Also, my wife’s cocktail was not made correctly but they fixed it immediately upon being informed. The food was good and very flavorful. I may return when I’m back in town.

Service was neutral, server was a bit flat but the food came out quickly enough. Meal was very tasty and the portions were generous. The restaurant and table seemed very clean. Price was right, especially compared to Seattle and west coast. Easy parking during bike week.

My family and I stopped by this place in a hot afternoon. I should have known better, since we were the only ones in the restaurant for the entire time. The food was just decent, I would not say this is authentic. Although on the affordable side compared to other places I’ve tried in Northern Virginia, the fried ice cream was soggy and not as tasty as it should be. Everything else was just overpriced for the quality that we received. Our bill was added 18% gratuity, which ruined the whole experience because I did not know. Even if it was stated in the menu(which was very complicated and hard to look at because of all the different colors and fonts), the waitress should have told us so it wouldn’t come as a surprise.

The food is decent. We ordered rice with beef, drunk noodle, pad Thai, tum yum soup. Service is good, the waitress was attentive. We came in at 1PM today. Not sure if this was mentioned in the menu, but there is 18% gratuity in addition to tax. This surprised me. I don’t like to be surprised.

Food was mediocre, but I really loved the décor of the place! I got the drunken noodles. You can choose a spiciness level between 1 – 5. Careful, because apparently their«5 spicy» is authentic Thai hot… so get a glass of water ready The taste of my noodles was very good, but noodles were just too stiff! Also, they were the wide thin noodles… interesting because I have never had drunken noodles with that kind before(I prefer the thick, fat, gelatinous noodles for my drunken noodle dish). I took the leftovers home and they were better microwaved because the noodles softened up. However, there were beautiful decorations all over the restaurant! The interior is like a work of art… Gorgeous elephant mosaics in the dining area, traditional Thai figures along the entrance, light-up pink hearts on all the windows(cheesy, yes, but I’m a sucker for cutesy things that are good for pictures, heh). I want to give a 5 just cause I like the look of the place but unfortunately a 3 for bad texture of noodles until I come back to try again next time!

We were happy to find Black Thai last Friday for dinner. We wanted to stay away from the boardwalk and since it was a Friday in Lent(aka no meat) our options were pretty limited, especially since we had gotten sushi for lunch. While Black Thai was a bit of a walk, the food was definitely worth it. I got the red curry and my sister go the drunken noodles and both were delicious. Everything was very reasonably priced for the portion size. The waitress was also very attentive with refilling our water glasses. While we weren’t the only ones there, there were definitely plenty of tables open(we were there from 5:30 — 6:30pm)

I’ve eaten Thai all over America. Black Thai is well tailored and measures up against the rest! Traditional drink choices abound, and while the spring rolls were good, the hot wings were a pleasant surprise. For those used to bland food, don’t eat Thai. Go get pizza instead. The public heat level here is 1 – 5.(I ordered a 10, and was happy to learn it goes higher.) My drunken noodles were closer to a 7, though it was spicy enough that most normal folks probably couldn’t handle it, yum! The service was good for such a busy little place, and the wood décor is nice. I’ll go back, and next time I’ll try the Black Thai doughnut for dessert.

Awesome good food… Great authentic Thai taste. one of the best we have tried. I have traveled many places and countries, including Thailand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Maldives, India, UAE, Malaysia… This is one of the best Thai restaurants I have eaten at. Love it. Remember that I eat very spicy and their 5⁄5 was too much for me too. So I suggest you start at 3 if you like spicier food than what is served at most restaurants in the USA.(I usually don’t have any issues with 10⁄10 spicy level at most other Thai and Indian restaurants and have done the buffalo wings challenge, to serve as a guide to my level of spicy food).
