Lux Nails & Spa

I have been a customer here for a while, when they owned Paris Nails and it is great that they know my name and the prices are not bad. But I feel that they get you in and out as quickly as they can without paying attention to the details of the current customer at hand. My latest experience was disappointing. I got a natural manicure and three days later the polish had already chipped. There are ripples in the nail polish from not properly drying and the color they removed can still be seen around my cuticles. Disappointing and will be taking my business elsewhere.

I went Lux nail spa today because the nail place I used to go to had closed. They got me in fairly quick without an appointment. They weren’t terribly friendly, mostly talking to each other in their language and working on their customers while barely speaking to them. One worker actually took a call from her child, on speaker phone, while working on a customer’s nails. The nail equipment didn’t seem to be sterilized between customers, like my old place did. The person who worked on my nails did not massage my hands, or even make sure my hands were moisturized. My nails turned out okay. Not as neat as they usually are, but okay. When done, the workers just send you to the sink to wash your hands. They do not tell you how to use the strange faucet, where the towels are (in a drawer), or to put the dirty towels under the Sink. I will look elsewhere next time.

I paid good money for a deluxe pedicure but am truly unsatisfied. As the technician began, I quickly had to ask her to be gentle for the first time. As the pedicure progressed I had to ask a second time to be more gentle I then began to have a simple manicure and it was as if she forgot who I was because she just lost complete track of my request for softer care of me as a human. She had an apologetic nature to her reminding, but really? I asked for less rough treatment not but 15 minutes ago and you forgot already? I proceeded to get a nick on one of my fingers for cuticle cutting roughness and she dropped some blue liquid on my finger because she nicked it open. In my mind, that’s three strikes!
It is now the day after being a customer here and I am having serious issue with my big toe ballooning up to become ingrown and swollen painful, throbbing quick. Literally struggling to walk normally and am peeved.
I intend to return to this location to voice this discontent in person. But this epic shit show had to be cataloged.

It literally took 2 hours to get a mani pedi, I mean they were busy but the receptionist told me 5 min wait and I waited for 20 mins. My pedicure and my manicure were not done well they didn’t paint the sides of some of my nails and my French tips were sooo uneven. Also no one wiped out the pedicure station I was using before the next person used it. The tools they used were not cleaned either the guy was wiping dead skin off of the cuticle cutters before he used them in me!!!

LOVE this place! This is the old crew from Paris Nails. I have had pink and white done for years and have been almost everywhere between Muskegon and Grand Rapids and this is the ONLY place that pays attention to detail and listens to their customers. Prices are very competitive as well. I will never go anywhere else.
